  1. Bill, is it OK that I don't care about the Ryder Cup? It's difficult to stir up even the slighest of patriotic feelings as we compete against the entire continent of Europe.
  2. Go right after him. He's good, but he's not good enough to walk every time.
  3. I can't believe you can justify building a place of business without a roof, if you can't play in the rain.
  4. I'm surrpised to see Krynzel playing versus a LHP. That isn't setting him up for success, and especially since Magruder hits so much better RH, it isn't setting the team up either. UPDATE: I musta saw the "LHP" by DLR's name.
  5. If I'm not mistaken, LH pitchers started Thursday and Friday. And I hope Ned doesn't make decisions based on parental visits.
  6. Good God, Helms AND Bennett HR in the same game? Is this some sort of alternate universe we're living in? Right now, Barry Bonds is sitting at home, and his 5 year-old is striking him out with his 20 mph fastball, and he doesn't know why.
  7. I'm watching the game on tape right now. Yes, I am a nerd.
  8. I don't think so, MS. I believe athletes must be enrolled for both semesters, somewhere. Of course, I'm just a robot.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Hoffy, Matt Harrington is the most obvious example, turned down millions, and is still waiting for "the right deal". What an idiot.
  10. I would have taken him, without a doubt. I think it's very sad that the Drews don't understand the value of time, however.
  11. I wish I could be a warm body. Good move slipping Ford through waivers now. This might be a huge blessing in disguise, as Ford is still a LH who throws hard, but now he doesn't take up a 40 man spot.
  12. Allow me to say, if you took part in the above thread, I truly feel sorry for you. I barely saw a couple sensical comments out of 65. The ignorance is not just over the top, but also shown to be 100% inaccurate. The horror.
  13. TOR has been poorer than most of us thought, but that's a $30M team minus Carlos. JP always seems to make good moves, but his pitching certainly has been crappy.
  14. Sadly I thought the same thing with Canada, Bill. Golly, we're nerds.
  15. Outstanding "out of the box" move by ANA.
  16. But how many return to a athletic career?? All that's left is his team trying to recoup their cash and him playing a year or two with an indy league club.
  17. It would be a shame for him to just throw it down the gutter. Too late for that. As soon as you shoot heroin, it's all but over. I doubt he'll ever play the game again.
  18. It sure is a nice park, obviously the best in WI. I've heard many say it's as nice as many AA parks. And, no, it makes no difference if our minor league teams win, as long as they develop players. None. The mere fact anyone questions it makes me curious as to what the thought process is...prospects need to play and develop. Winning in the minors, blah.
  19. Wasn't there complaints about Sarfate a week ago or thereabouts? The kid's got a 4.75 ERA, I can live with that. 5500 in Apple-ton. That's a first class organization. While it would have very little effect, it'd sure be nice to have our low A affiliate in the best low A city in Wisconsin.
  20. Wow, what a flair for the dramatic. Yawn. I'll leave the worrying about minor details to those who give a rat's a** who wins a AA game. The truth is, Hart's AAA numbers are a tad better than Grieve's ML numbers...which is the whole point. Obviously, the ML translation is a lot lower, for one thing, it's hard to imagine Corey getting on much more than 30% of the time in the bigs, right now. He needs the AB's in AAA, which is the whole point. The "bring him up now" brigade jumped the gun, without even considering service time issues.
  21. Peavey, I've been too polite to mention Hart. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Last I checked, Hart's OBP was .330, exactly the major league average...but, of course, he's in AAA. His OPS must be pretty close to Grieve's...but he's a level lower. And it appears his defense is still "coming along", to be polite. Leaving him in AAA may rank with the best non-moves of Melvin's brief tenure. 22 year-olds with obvious holes in their game do not belong in the majors, especially when you have decent production from that spot.
  22. I have no idea how long it should take to make a field playable, but we're talking about the health of 20 youngsters. If it takes a while to keep 'em safe, it takes a while. I see no reason to repaint everything myself, just get the field playable.
  23. Giving Jason Childers a chance in another organization is "ill advised". Please. When you have a player with no future, in your system, you let him go.
  24. Nope. Any advice, let me know. Anyone else posted a personal pic? Most seem to be lifted from the real media.
  25. Really...that's odd. Anything I can do to get it to show up on my screen?
