  1. I just tuned in too. Weeks is 4-4 tonight so far.
  2. Dogger, how did Huntsville score their runs?
  3. According to ESPN, Indy is tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 6th.
  4. thanks for the info. 11. That is too bad. I really would like to see someone pick him and let a pitcher drop to us.
  5. I would be surprised if he doesn't go at the latest Round 2. Will Kimmey from BA still isn't on board though. Here is what he said in the latest BA Defend the Poll (I did not ask the question). If he is still there in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th, I say the Brewers should jump on it. After yesterday's performance, his BA is now up to .349. and his OPS is right at about 1.000. I would probably would not put him above Pedroia or Drew, but 5th round is interesting. Q: &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Mike from Houston asks: With the way Paul Janish is swinging the bat lately, could he be the best all around short stop in college baseball? Who would have thought Janish would lead the team in home runs and rbi's? A: &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Will Kimmey: I'd say that title goes to Arizona State's Dustin Pedroia. Stephen Drew at Florida State's also in the mix. Janish is a very strong defender, and most likely the best of this group and his bat has been somewhat of a surprise this year as it has always been the question with him. Still, I wouldn't rate him ahead of Pedroia or Drew, who could each be drafted before the second round. Janish is tough to peg, but the fifth is probably as early as he'll go.
  6. Rice pounded Nevada today. Humber got the win (Colby will supply the line). Paul Janish went 6 for 6 including 2 HRs (1 a grand slam). Humber didn't seem to have his best stuff today, but they got the job done.
  7. Listening to the first bit of the Rice game today. The announcers said said Niemann was operating in the 92-94 range and 'touched' 96 in an impressive outing. I think it is pretty safe to say Niemann is dialing it back in now after a rough start to the year. Humber is on the mound today and already hit 96 on the gun in the 1st inning.
  8. That is really unfortunate news on Parra. Considering Greg Miller had his bursa sac removed and is due back in mid-May, it may not be that terrible of an idea to scope his shoulder just to make sure there are no tears of the rotator cuff, etc...
  9. Kyle Sleeth, you bring up a decent point about the Rice pitch count. These guys are overused. The top 3 throw at least 110 pitches an outing. Humber had 134 a week ago and around 120 again last time out. However, if you can make it through 3 years at Rice pretty healthy, hopefully you will have found the arm troubles if they happen. I don't know much about Baugh or Anderson. What kind of 'stuff' did they have. Did they consistently throw low to mid 90's with great slider/curveballs? Part of what concerns me about the Rice trio is they really fatten their stats against some pretty weak WAC competition. That said, I would still love for the Brewers to have any of the 3.
  10. Thanks for the info. Bonderman. Fill us in on anything you hear about the Tigers draft plans!! BTW, I was sad to see Tiger stadium go away. My best friend interned at Ford for a summer. You cannot beat a CF upper deck ticket for $2 and then they threw out free ice cream. Had to have a radio because we were at least 500 ft. from home plate.
  11. Yeah, it sure is tempting, isn't it. The Brewers just can't afford to be wrong with the 5th pick in the draft. I would not put it past Jack Z, however. I think part of it depends on how Hendrickson, Capuano, and De La Rosa start out the year. If these guys are pitching great in AAA and/or the majors, it may make it a little easier to pick the high school kid. If they are struggling, i figure they will go with the college pitcher.
  12. Nice mock cressj. My feeling is it will go like this for the top 5: Weaver Townsend Sowers Verlander Niemann Of course, if the Mets are interested in Drew that would make this very different. I guess i would be a bit surprised considering they have Matsui and Reyes. Maybe Drew is headed for 3rd or corner OF. I would not be surprised to see 5 straight college pitchers go at the top of round 1. If the top 4 are college pitchers, does anyone think the Brewers would have the guts to pick Adenhardt? I bet they would not hesistate if they really felt he was the best pitcher around.
