  1. I've lived in Austin for 12 years now. That would be my vote! The toll roads have fixed a lot of the traffic. The summers do drag on a little bit, but last year was by far the worst that I remember. It is great for almost everything except pro sports, but for that fix I just have DirecTV. If you like to golf, you could do that everyday if you wish.
  2. David Bell "Prolly" instead of "Probably" Cell phones Hearing about the Texas Longhorns Having it be 100 degrees 3 months straight Ted Thompson (who needs OG anyway??)
  3. I was at the Express/Sounds game to watch Sheets (I left early). Here is what I saw. Ben was in a very good mood as he was constantly joking with some fans and even laughed about the home run that was cranked into the upper deck in the Dell Diamond Home Run porch. The stadium gun had Sheets' 4 seamer consitently at 91-93. He did hit 94 a few times and 95 was his top. He was having trouble locating his curveball but the umps didn't do him any favors. Good to see him back pitching and in good spirits. He did seem to have a new pitch. His 4 seamer was as reported and threw some 2 seamers that came in a ~88. What was interesting was that he had some pitches come in at ~85. I wonder if that was the cut fastball. It didn't seem to have much movement to it. He threw a couple changeups in the 80-82 mph range and his curve was upper 70s. I wanted to stay for more after his exit but my pregnant wife had other ideas.
  4. Well, Justin Verlander had some pretty crappy results in college too, until they figured out his mechanics. Now look..........
  5. Silver lining(s). We don't have to worry about Davis' 2007 arby number anymore......... Prince and Rickie can flat out rake.
  6. Looking forward to seeing Villenueva tonight. I expect it will be in the 3rd inning http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. If Hendrickson exits early again tonight, let the stretching out of Jorge De La Rosa begin! JDLR's stuff is just as good as Liriano's. He just needs to keep finding the plate.
  8. Who wants to trade Lee again? Weeks/Fielder are definately not ready to carry this team offensively.
  9. How can you lose 8 of 10 and have 7 losses per the JSOnline? I guess the game against Japan doesn't count, but didn't we win that one?
  10. XM has never said they carry every spring game. They will only carry a handful. They will carry all of the regular season games with the home feeds. If WTMJ doesn't carry the game, it isn't likely to be on XM.
  11. You guys think we will see the debut of the retro Sunday uniforms today? I bet they break them out today!
  12. Hardy just hit a 2-run shot with Clark on base. Estimated distance was at least 450 ft. Monster blast with the wind going out. 5-3 Crew
  13. It looks like the story on the Brewers web page was modified slightly. Before I swear it said he left for "personal reasons'. Now it says he left due to a "family health problem". I sure hope everything goes well for Prince in the offseason.
  14. I am also sick of Overbay. Besides April, he has really been marginal for a 1B. August has been absolutely brutal. I am looking forward to him being Spivey'ed in the offseason. He is clearly not a part of the future. He better at least split time with Prince in Sept. I'll take a #4 starter or a young promising CF for him.
  15. Is it just me or is Doug Davis either unhittable or pathetic. Bad time for pathetic. We should score some runs tonight though.....
  16. Just got back from the Sounds/Express game. Unfortunately the Sounds let this one get away from them. They should have won handlily, but grounded into several double plays (two of them with bases loaded) including Cirillo's to end the game. Krynzel and Cruz had nice games. The Cruz homerun was an absolute blast. It went over the 375 sign and may have left the stadium (it went over the grass berm and in between their upper deck homerun porch and a small building). Never saw a distance, but I would guess 450ft. Nice pitching by Phelps tonight, but Zumwalt was skating on thin ice all night. Almost all his out were fly balls and many were hit well but Krynzel, Cruz, and Durrington tracked most of them down. Luke Scott has owned the Sounds so it was no surprise to see him go deep. I have seen Stetter pitch twice now and am not excited. Maybe I have just seen him on bad days.
  17. In Jack Z. I trust. I think Braun stays in W. Va. the rest of the season. I think he will go to the AFL afterwards and then to AA next year, just like Weeks. Heether is going to have to play a different position at AA next year if he wants to move up.
  18. The Sounds/Sky Sox game will be televised on DirecTV channel 644. It is one of the FSN Alt channels from Colorado so you will need to Fox Sports Pack to see it. Lucky for me, I have it. Now that I just said it, I see the SkySox website says tonights game has been postponed.......... too bad.
  19. Salome with the walk-off HR!!! Go Power!!!
  20. Check out the lineup for WV. Loaded..... Salome with a jack in first Single A AB.
  21. Kraft, The best way for pictures is to create a profile at Photobucket and upload them to that site. Then you can just insert web links instead of the actual pictures.
  22. On the positive side, how about J.J's night at the plate? 2-3 with a 2B, HR, BB and a line drive out in the 9th! Keep on raking, J.J.!!
  23. Franklin did, and it was sweet!!!! Oh, the memories.... BTW, that Weeks bomb was something else.
  24. Louis, Alberts "Single" went about 405 feet into the LF bleachers.
