Did we ever hear what happened with Adam? In 2015 he had a spring training invite, was a AA all star and probably the top catcher in the system (I know that's not saying much) to barely playing in 2016.
Just as impressive is that he is on pace for 103 walks and 184 runs. So if pitchers start being more careful with him, Braun and Shaw will have plenty of RBI opportunities.
I wonder if they'll kick the can down the road a bit and have Garza make another rehab start, since he wasn't sharp in his last one. Give Milone one more start. And I'd rather not sign a FA SP, given our history. You've got to overpay or go a year or two longer than you should, being stuck with a crappy pitcher making a lot of money at the end of the contract. That's the nice part about actually having SP prospects in the minors.
I was 12 at the time. We didn't typically have sports on during holiday celebrations, so I didn't hear about it until later. But I do remember going to George Webb's to get my free burger. I remember waiting in line and having them pull a flat, nasty, barely warm, pre-made burger out of of cooler. Can't say that I've ever had a Webb's burger since.
I agree with that, but PEDs are one of the reasons for me. The Brewers have had PED users, druggies, criminals, wife beaters, lairs, cheaters and jerks. That's why I root for the team and don't get too attached to any player.
I wonder if the getting hit by that pitch is affecting Broxton. He said he was ready to get right back in there, but that has to be on his mind, at least somewhat. And Villar sat on the bench for most of spring training during the WBC. This is his spring training.
I am curious what they will do now that it seems Garza is ready to rejoin the Brewers. I assume he will take Milone's spot in the rotation, so they have a week to decide what to do in the bullpen. I know we all want Milone to get released, but that doesn't seem to be happening. They haven't seen much of Drake. Marinez has been shaky, but was solid last year. Barnes is the only one with options, but he has become the 7th inning guy.
Biloxi has a lineup of prospects who have lost some luster in the past year or two. They've already dropped down the prospect lists and if they don't show something this year, are going to get passed by that Carolina group with promotions.
Comparing to the MLB list, Brewerfan has Ray and Nottingham 4 spots lower and Medeiros 6 spots lower. Kirby is 5 spots higher. The rest are within 3 spots.
I don't think the Brewers are looking at their clocks when deciding to keep them in the minors. I think they feel that they could use some more development in the minors. Lopez and Hader both struggled at times in AAA. Woodruff is getting his first taste of AAA. Yes, I know Colorado Springs is rough on pitchers, but they can still learn and develop there.
