  1. With Franklin and Broxton they now have two first round draft picks from 2009. They're trying to fix the stank from that draft (Arnett, Kentrail Davis, Heckathorn)
  2. He is also arby eligible next year. He will report on Friday, so they have a couple days to make a move.
  3. So this means a pitcher gets sent down: Suter, Barnes or Jungman?
  4. He only got 5 ABs in the WBC, so he didn't play. It really would have helped if he had a full spring training this year. This may be a bit premature. I did see a quote by Counsell saying it takes 2 years to get comfortable at a position.
  5. Suter gets the call. Not saying who will start yet. http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/222260728/brewers-put-junior-guerra-on-disabled-list/?topicId=27118386
  6. I'm guessing it's Milone to the rotation and a reliever is recalled. Wouldn't it be something if Crybaby gets recalled on the 2nd day of the season.
  7. It probably was a mistake to say there was an open competition. It would appear that very little was decided based on spring training, except Aguilar.
  8. It's one thing to be mad, but it's never smart to badmouth the management that controls your future.
  9. Just saw that Barnes made the team. The last 2 spots are between Jungmann, Cravy and Shahill.
  10. It is a good reminder that we are still a couple years away. While there are top prospects knocking on the door for pitching and outfield, most of the infield prospects are in the lower levels. If there is an infield injury, we are looking at AAAA replacements at this point.
  11. Agreed that the starting lineup would be ok if anyone goes down with Perez and Aguilar stepping in. The problem is that the bench goes from weak to bad.
  12. Not likely, now that his $1.25 million becomes guaranteed. It would have cost them nothing to cut him now. So this means Milone makes it over Barnes or Shahill most likely.
  13. They have to keep Jungmann and Cravy so they can continue their daily chess matches. http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2017/03/30/brewers-jungmann-cravy-no-rooks-when-comes-chess/99837026/
  14. I just realized the we'll have just 2 homegrown position players on the team, but potentially 5 homegrown pitchers. Quite the reversal from the not too distant past.
  15. This was the first time for Marinez getting lit up. He's been pretty good this spring. But it looks like Barnes is going to join Blazek in getting demoted after getting lit up while being told to work on different things.
  16. My money is on them going with 13 pitchers.
  17. I'm pretty sure Milone won't make the rotation, but I wonder if he'll even make the bullpen or just get released.
  18. I'm talking about what will happen which I think will be different than what we hope or expect to happen.
  19. Also interesting that we have a week left in spring training and no clue how 3,4,5 will end up.
  20. How about Nelson with 2 BB in 12 2/3 innings? 1.4 BB and 11.4 Ks /9 innings. Keep that up and we'll see some good things from him.
  21. It would appear that the only remaining move among position players is to option Susac once he is healthy.
  22. I'm hopeful that the defense won't totally suck this year.
  23. There is some reason for optimism, but it's tempered by the fact that some of that was due to minor leaguers who won't be on the team. The next two weeks will be interesting as we finally get the see the regular lineup with Villar and Perez back and Braun ramping up. The biggest concern has to be the bottom third of the order with Arcia, Bandy, P.
  24. Susac is also out a few days with neck stiffness so that puts him even further behind.
  25. I really think all 6 starters are going to be on the team in some capacity. McCalvy thinks Anderson could end up in long relief. He did have trouble even getting through 5 innings with regularity. And he mentions "creative solutions" again. http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/219615440/predictions-for-brewers-opening-day-roster/
