  1. But every AAA pitcher on the 40 man has already burned an option for 2021. The real issue is that most of them are lefties and they needed a righty. Yardley is one of the few righties and he hasn't been good this year.
  2. And how the guy who's 4th on the all time saves list was his setup man (K-Rod).
  3. Had to check on 2011. Of course there is Counsell. Greinke is with Houston. Fiers is on the DL. Lucroy and Kintzler were DFA'd recently. I think that's it for guys who are still playing.
  4. I normally would say that I'm worried about shaking up a solid bullpen so much, but with covid, I guess you can never have too many guys.
  5. It may come down to options. There may not be room for Vogelbach, Shaw or Peterson on the active roster if everyone is healthy and they would have to be DFAd to be sent down. Unless they really would rather keep one of them over Taylor.
  6. No, they can't, not unless they get hurt again. They can't extend their 30 day rehab assignments unless they get hurt.
  7. At the very least, it's good to have another option going into next year, with all the OF uncertainties. Will Garcia and Bradley be gone? Will Cain be healthy?
  8. If I have this right: Peterson can return 8/3 Yelich can return 8/6, if healthy Shaw rehab ends 8/15 Topa rehab ends 8/17 Vogelbach rehab ends 8/17 (Not a 40 man issue, just 26 man) File rehab ends 8/25
  9. File is the 5th, currently on rehab. I could even see Peterson DFA'd since there really won't be a spot for him on the 26 man when Yelich comes back.
  10. It's going to be interesting with 5 guys needing to be added to the 40 man soon and only 1 spot.
  11. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/brewers-attend-bucks-nba-championship-game He was wearing a mask, but the timing is right.
  12. Just speculating, but wasn't he courtside at the Bucks game a week ago, while the rest of the team was in a suite?
  13. Who would ever of thought we’d see something like this as Brewers fans?!! Incredible. Yeah, how many years were we lucky to have 1 starter with a sub 4 ERA?
  14. Assuming Williams replaces Perdomo today, there are really no holes in the pitching staff. 13 out of 14 with a sub 4 ERA. 9 with a sub 3 ERA.
  15. I assume Perdomo is going down when Williams is activated, likely the same day as Cain. After that, there really aren't any obvious choices for pitchers to send down. It also sounds like it won't be a true 5-man rotation. It sounds like Houser will be piggybacking with a rotating starter who will get a shorter start.
  16. It certainly is looking like Hiura will be the one going down when Cain returns tomorrow He's had 1 AB in the past week with Tellez getting most starts now. It's going to be a bit odd with 5 IF and 5 OF, but you have to go with the bats. And it sounds like Peterson is going to be playing all over now, giving guys a day off. It also sounds like Williams will be back tomorrow, too. Pretty much full strength tomorrow.
  17. It's better than the Marquette Gold.
  18. Don't forget that Vuckovich was likely pitching with a torn rotator cuff in the playoffs.
  19. I was just thinking about this. We've got a 4 year window, with most of the pitching staff under control, but lots of questions in the OF, 1B and C after next year. I think you've got to go all in with a pitching staff like this.
  20. Yeah, I'd say handling the pitching staff is way more important than any offense you might get. You don't want to disrupt the pitching staff .
  21. With the days off this month, they don't need a 6th starter until August. Does Lauer go to the pen, even though he's been pitching well lately? Or Anderson, since he has only thrown 4 innings since he came back from the DL? Or do they give everyone extra rest?
  22. Does the chance for a labor dispute in the off season affect some of these decisions? Do guys take the sure thing if they're not sure if teams will be able to make any offers during much of the offseason?
  23. Based on some comments I've read, I think there is a chance they just keep them in the same order as before, pending the all star game. It sounds like they may not skip anyone when there are days off. That could mean Anderson, Houser, Lauer starting the first 3 games.
  24. Bradley is one case where I really have no idea what he'll do. If he declines the option, he gets $6.5 million, but then he loses the $8 million buyout option for the next year right? Does he take the option next year, hope for a better year top get paid the next year (plus $8 million)? Or decline the option, take $6.5 and hope for something more than the additional $3 million next year?
