  1. Steve Sollmann is Scott's brother? That's strange. Scott was a pretty OBP-savvy OF non-prospect that the Brewers picked up from the Tigers (minor league Rule 5?) before the '99 season. I don't recall what happened to him after that.
  2. I'm pretty sure some of the lineup slots are wrong, and I'm really not sure who batted in the ninth, but really, who cares about Adam Shabala?
  3. Overbay has dropped two foul fly balls near the dugout. The first one hit him in the shoulder, the second one hit him in the glove.
  4. Hendrickson, Capellan, Jeff Bennett , Mark Johnson reassigned to minor league camp.

  8. off topic, what's your signature from, Toby? I like it! It's from two places. The original (which I heard second) is from a Butthole Surfers song called Sweat Loaf. The place where i first heard it was as a sample in an Orbital song called Satan.
  9. Solid four innings for Lil Ben, but that fifth inning was killer for him. If Obie has a good outing today, Ben could be booted from camp today or tomorrow.
  10. Someone email Sutton and tell him where The Hurrican's nickname came from!
  11. Zdurencik is going to be on in the next half inning.
  12. Mr. Hendrickson, welcome to the Nashville Sounds. May you win another AAA ERA title.
  13. a bomb, a long bomb When was the last time you heard of a person hitting a short bomb?
  14. Wise was specifically mentioned as having a good outing his last time out, and he did well by himself again today. Unless he blows up, it is hard for me to see him not on the roster. JDLR has to be the highlight of the game, with two impressive performances in a row now. And hey, maybe we shouldn't all write off Glover just yet. That Maddux guy works magic.
  15. If this were a regular season game, Davis probably would have pitched 4-5 more scoreless innings. Two innings is pretty hard to get worked up about.
  16. Helling with two fly-ball out, not too promising.
  17. It would be bad karma for the first loss to be against KC.

  19. All i can say is... Yay! Go Brewers. For one day, we were perfect.
  20. Meyers was a pretty hot-stuff prospect with the Cubs in the late 90's into 2000, and John Sickles rated him as a better prospect than Mark Mulder and Wade Miller, just glancing quickly, though he's more of a control guy than those two. He's somewhat similar to Ben Hendrickson, with a low 90's fastball and an excellent curveball. I assume he never really developed his marginal changeup or requisite command of the curve since the 2000-2001 seasons, hence his fall from prospectdom. He's pretty much what the downside of Hendrickson is. Still could be something, and if Maddux gets him harnessing his stuff, he could be a darkhorse contender for the Brewers' pen.
  21. Mark Littell will follow many of his pitchers from Helena to West Virginia, probably a plus... Considering the troubles of quite a number of the H-Brewers' pitchers last season, maybe, maybe not. For guys like Walker, Martinez, DeCarlo and Theodorakos, we can only hope that Littell's has a "Part 2" to the lesson plan.
  22. I just got the hoodie with the brewerfan dude (in the top left corner of this page) on the front and the logo on the back. Very well printed, and comfy as heck to boot. Pretty good price as well. Would highly recommend.
