  1. So... Who are we picking in 10 months?
  2. Just three and a half weeks later... 1. Arizona - .305 2. Kansas City - .355 3. Seattle - .368 4. Toronto - .417 5. Montreal - .429 6. Colorado - .437 7. Milwaukee - .440 8. Baltimore - .456 9. Tampa Bay - .465 10. NY Mets - .472 11. Pittsburgh - .476 12. Detroit - .476 13. Cincinnati - .480 14. Philadelphia - .488 15. Chi. White Sox - .492 16. Cleveland - .500 17. Houston - .508 18. Florida - .508 19. San Diego - .540 20. San Francisco - .547 21. Chi. Cubs - .556 22. Texas - .560 23. Minnesota - .563 24. Anaheim - .575 25. Boston - .576 26. Atlanta - .576 27. Oakland - .579 28. Los Angeles - .579 29. NY Yankees - .619 30. St. Louis - .659 Still very conceivable that the Brewers could get into the top 4 or 5, and they aren't going to drop down much lower than 7th. I don't think they'll "make up" 9 games on Seattle, but they're just 3 games better than Toronto.
  3. Geoff Jenkins would be batting 8th for the Cubbies.
  4. I watched 5 minutes of this game, flipped to WWE Raw, and forgot to flip back. These guys are not fun to watch, even for someone who gets to watch them only once or twice a month.
  5. I don't blame Travis Phelps for being put in a situation where he obviously shouldn't have been after his last appearance, that is Yost's problem. But this guy has already worn out his welcome, and his two big league performances sandwiched by Ben Hendrickson's two-hitter in Indy have proved that the Brewers went with the wrong horse here. Hendrickson isn't going to get a whole lot better facing AAA hitters. He will struggle for awhile against ML hitters... most pitchers do. However, he will be a better pitcher than Phelps some day, and I'd rather he lose games than Phelps lose games.
  6. As was noted in the MLB forum, LHP Matt Ford has been outrighted off of the 40-man roster. We assume he cleared waivers and will still pitch for Huntsville.
  7. Whoa, Lou Collier is in LF for the Phillies. Sweet memories that guy brings back. Edit: The Brewers not scoring with runners on first and third and one out... also sweet memories. From the other day.
  8. Topic: Did he send out the wrong Wesley to pinch-hit?
  9. Wesley, you're a dink. Ned, you're a bigger dink.
  10. Chances are, someone will K against Hawkins. Chances also are Clark wouldn't have been that guy. Why put him in a situation where he'll be a sure out when there is a good chance he'll be able to put it in the field? Just tell him to make sure to get under it so it has a chance at a gap.
  11. Why do you send up one of your best contact hitters to bunt in the first place?
  12. Is there anything this man can't do???? Is there anything Geoff Jenkins can do? Edit: Hey, I'll gladly shut my mouth.
  13. Good thing Hendrickson didn't give that up.
  14. Powell was adament that Overbay could have scored. I didn't see it on TV, so I have to trust him. He said something to the effect of "Patterson was going to let him score."
  15. As madbad alluded to in the game thread, RHP Justin Barnes has been moved up to Beloit to fill the spot vacated by Eveland.
  16. Two runs in the same inning... is that legal?
  17. Call it a turnaround. The Brewers are up! Woooo.
  18. That was one game, you can't say he's "been hitting the ball well" after one solid performance. You also can't say he was hitting the ball poorly after a total of six other games.
  19. 20. The Brewers are going to win. I can feel it. Game time is 2:05 central. 21. Helms can't go sideways, silly. He's Gold Glove caliber. Yost'll pretend you didn't say that. Hell is the second half of this season and Yost is weaving the last pieces of the handbasket into place.
  22. Base loaded, one out, and no runs to speak of. Weird.
  23. Anyone want to place odds on Obie being DFA'd after the game?
