  1. The winter workout guys have the weekends off so you probably won't find anyone out there. Monday through Friday and they're done around 2:00 and even earlier on Fridays. Monday, Wednesday and Friday they take BP on the field and the other two days it's in the cage. I believe that they take fielding every day. Lot's of them out here with more and more showing up every day.
  2. I remember taking my son to see Mike pitch in High School and he handled the pressure of all the scouts very well and last year I got to sit next to him during a spring training game while he was charting pitches for Jeffress. What an awesome game to see and to sit and listen to Mike talk to some of the younger pitchers sitting around was even better. No ego, just a great team mate waiting for his arm to heal up so that he could resume his pitching career. I wish Mike the best and if he doesn't make it to the bigs on the mound perhaps he can make it as a coach because you can tell he truly loves the game.
  3. A sightless albino cave shrimp? And I thought that being an Artichoke was bad.
  4. Thanks for the name correction. Mom says great and now if she can just get his birthplace changed from Scottsdale to Santa Monica, CA. she'll be happy. I couldn't resist the Artie logo and I'll see if I can't find some Artie memorabilia for battlekow.
  5. What you have to realize about the minor league players is that most of them have already lived through attending college and not being able to hold any type of job because their job was going to school and playing ball. They also receive very little tuition reimbursement as baseball is on the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to tuition money. So after having lived on a tight budget for 2 or more years and not being able to hold down any type of regular job, including summer work because they were usually playing in the summer leagues these guys are then subject to 3 to 4 more years of this after getting drafted. It's a long tough road for them especially if they don't get much of a signing bonus. The prize on the other side can be great but getting there can be a tough road. Kind of like finishing school and then having to perform intern work for next to nothing for another 3 or 4 years before you ever get to start your real paying job.
  6. I never knew that the Brewers had a facility in Washington Heights. I thought that they sent everyone to Arizona for winter workouts. Just curious as to how Angel would be working out with the team everyday when everyone else seems to be playing winter ball or are in AZ not playing ball but going through conditioning.
