  1. Nice! I was hoping Cameron would get up ... he's the guy to do it.
  2. Hopeful here ... but man Braun looked terrible yesterday against Ian Snell.
  3. Hi all, I'm working on a story for a construction magazine about installing flat-screen TVs, and I'm looking for memorable stories from people who have gone through the process of hanging (or trying to hang) a TV on a wall. If you have such a story, and don't mind it being in print, send me an email at: dustin.block(at)gmail.com Thanks, Dustin
  4. This season isn't lost yet. How often is a team tied for the wild card with 12 games to play? They had to make a significant change, and this is all you can do at this point. Besides, it's clear Yost wasn't going to pull the team out of this slump (remember last September?). It was inevitable.
  5. They've got to do something about Parra. He's our No. 2 heading into next season ... no sense in burning him out with five-run second innings this year and then have nothing for next year. If we want to lose every fifth day, send out Gagne and his $10 million as a starter.
  6. The Padres and Reds have terrible records, but they also have no pressure. I'm looking forward to games against teams who actually have to win. I have a good feeling about the upcoming Cubs series and think we split in Philly. It'll be close, but the Brewers still make the playoffs.
  7. This team is doing the expected. Young hitters are tired and folding under pressure. The bullpen is simply bad. They stole a lot of games in the middle of the season, and now that's balancing out. The long-term effect is Braun and Fielder gain valuable experience, Melvin realizes he needs to spend a lot more time on the bullpen and everyone sees Weeks and Hall are not viable big league starters. I like this team next year, and will definitely support them. Hopefully they make the needed changes in the offseason to play a full season.
  8. What frustrates me about this skid is the lack of leadership. I thought Hardy would pull a Jeter and step up, or maybe Braun would really become the face of the team. Didn't have much hope for Fielder, but the guy did hit 50 HRs last year. Isn't he due? Fact is, no one aside from our All-Star rental has played anything like a star for a couple of weeks now. Errors, strikeouts, walks ... just painful ways to lose games. Someone has to break through and end this franchise's new reputation of choking down the stretch.
  9. I hate this team. (And by this, I mean the Brewers.)
  10. We need Atari Bigby to step in here ...
  11. You mean the guys with one hit in 10 ABs with six strikeouts? Not gonna happen ...
  12. Agreed. I'm going to hate him for a long, long time.
  13. Wait, the Brewers can score more than a run against a decent pitcher? Let's move Kendall to cleanup and let Fielder fill that scrappy eight spot!
  14. That way the fans get to stand up and cheer right before we strike out with the bases loaded!
  15. Credit to Torres for keeping it to one run ... we still have a chance now.
  16. It's been a great year, but it's going to be agonizing watching playoff games with relievers who struggle to even throw strikes. Assuming Sup's the third starter, anyone think Bush or Parra would solidify the bullpen?
  17. Well, now that you've got the open base might as well walk him.
  18. 9 pitches ... 8 balls ... AAA, anyone?
  19. Jeebus, Riske ... can you get one frickin' out?
  20. Crap. He's probably laughing because he's done just enough this year to get a major pay day in the offseason.
  21. Who needed a 5.5 game lead for the wild card anyway?
