  1. TLR must like taking one more shot through the order with Albert & the boys
  2. Sure like to see Wainwright's pitch count a little higher. The guy is throwing strikes.
  3. Once again I curse you oh Blackout rules you evil outdated scourge of my Saturday afternoon!!! Note to MLB...I will not be watching the Angels and Rangers on Fox nor the Mets and Giants on Beisbol de las Grandes Ligas. I hope your ratings stink. Give me my BREW CREW!!!
  4. Need to take 2/3 from these guys. They are wounded and we need to kick them while they are down. Tonight should be our best matchup with Yo on the mound. If we can get a few off Lohse and get into that stinky bullpen we should be ok. Tomorrow will be tough...maybe sets up a rubber game on Sunday.
  5. If there was an additional replay or override umpire in the booth that could be in contact with the umpiring crew, it would barely take any time. If it eliminated the manager coming out kicking and screaming about some horrible call it might even shorten the game. I find nothing enjoyable about a bad call changing the outcome of a game...in fact, nothing frustrates me more. I felt horrible after that lazy ump blew that call down left field line in the D-Backs game a couple weeks ago. That call ruined the game for me and blew a shot at the Brewers winning. Imagine if there was no replay on that HR on Wednesday. We'd all be melting down right about now. Where is the enjoyment in that? Given the poor quality of some the umpiring crews in baseball, any technology that can improve the quality of the calls while not overly impeding the flow of the game (I will give you that point) is good with me. I believe it can be done if MLB put it's mind to it.
  6. This is a good move for him. It's too bad for us it didn't work out since we really need a better power LH bat off the bench. I hate to lose him too, but realistically there is no spot for him outside the bench in Milwaukee nor will there be for sometime. He's better off going somewhere where he has a chance.
  7. Also it would be fun to watch Counsell vs David Eckstein. How about a Counsell v. Eckstein cage match...narrated by Ned Yost? "Oh what a gritty move by Counsell, but that Eckstein is really battling...Soup pitched great"
  8. I'm sure Coughlin wasn't too happy by the time he got out there after hearing from various Marlins staff members their side of the story. Like most things, I'm sure the truth lies somewhere in between.
  9. I trust Macha and the maturity of this team to move beyond TLR's mind games. But if there is going to be some shenanigans...I say we start it. Let's start Big Red on Friday and have him fire his first pitch into the press box at Rick Horton. Then he can untuck his uni as he's led off the field by the umps and security!!!
  10. Nice to have won 3 straight and still have Yovani going tomorrow. I can't wait for St. Louis. Hopefully we are catching them ice cold.
  11. Getting that pitch count up there a little. Let's stay out of the DP and get a run here.
  12. Nice to see Billy mash one off a tough righty. I was surprised he didn't play last night and get today off. Keep it up Billy!
  13. Don't jinx it dlk9s...there will be a whole thread on you!!!
  14. We sure can't let these guys get out to a lead like the last 2 nights...Johnson is a beast.
  15. C'mon Crew...let's win a gravy day for once here!!! Welcome back Mike Rivera!!!
  16. Replay works. It worked last night in 2 games, it works in football and other sports where it's used and it should be expanded in baseball. Baseball is way behind the times on this one. The overriding factor is to get it right. I'm all for expanding it as far as they can including that Questec system (or whatever it's called) for balls/strikes. I've seen too many Phil Cuzzi or Jerry Lane ump'd games that are just out of control for how bad they are not to move forward with this. I'd push it as far as the technology allows to get rid of the umpires and their biases.
  17. The story broke before Hardy left the game with a headache, so I'm guessing they aren't related. Refersh my memory with Prince in 2005. I believe he came up for interleague then went back down after a month or so? Then he came up in September? Do I have that right?
