  1. Since when is Mitch Williams the official arbiter of how to act on the baseball field? Like the 93 Phils just exuded class? They were a fun bunch and all but hardly the poster children for "how to play the game". What should Braun do...grow one of those 70s porn mullets an put a watermelon size chunk of chaw in his mouth to be one of your boys? Is he in too good of shape for you or maybe doesn't get in enough off the field bar fights? The Brewers are fun to watch because the seem like a bunch of decent guys who get along pretty well and they are good. The whole untuckem thing is a great story that if any of these so called baseball experts took the time to research would not be the issue they make it out to be. And if someone has an issue with Braun taking a peek at his homer tonight...what would anyone do after getting drilled in the head?
  2. I don't think we'll see any beanball wars here. While the fan bases certainly hate each other, there has been very little animosity between the players. Our guys seem to get into it with the Cards and maybe now the Pirates. For whatever reason, they seem to get along with the Cubs. With Cuzzi behind the plate tomorrow...you never know what is going to happen. I see at least two ejections. Hopefully it involves Bradley and Lou, but I'm doubtful. The guy has it in for the Brewers. That and for whatever reason we have stunk on non-Pirates gravy days. Let's change that tomorrow!!! Get those pink bats out and fire up Billy Hall!!!
  3. Hey hawing...you are right, my apologies. It should have said their "attempt" at bf.net. My goodness mop up guys...you are going to waste Hoffman for tomorrow...uggh. And my DTV just went out...what the heck is going on?!!?!
  4. It's like my first trip to Miller Park the first year it was open. Lights out...game postponed. We came back the next day and watched with about 500 people...very surreal.
  5. I don't have the stats to back this up, but our production at 3B between Hall & Counsell must be pretty solid. Last year that was the biggest hole in our lineup. Anyone know how our 3B stacks up versus replacement and last year?
  6. We need to kick these guys while they are down. They'll be a much better team when we see them in July. I just love the little glare Braun gave Dempster after he drilled that HR...you going to hit me? Take that! Even if it wasn't intentional, gotta make him pay. These umps are horrible. Just knew it would be like that with Crawford & Cuzzi the next two nights. I was hoping with Ned gone the Brewers hate would be over, but I guess they are just that bad. I don't know how to copy the Gameday on that missed third strike to Soto, but that pitch had more of the plate than any other in the at bat.
  7. Let's face it folks, we're all Americans and there are plenty of blessed places to live in the great country of ours. I live out West and enjoy it, but I wouldn't trade one moment of growing up in Milwaukee. I have family throughout Wisconsin and Chicago and love to visit both cities. Each has their own plusses and minuses...it's up to the individual who lives or visits in these places to form their own opinion. What bitter Brenly says about a city he's never seen outside of a dowtown hotel and a freeway ride out to a ballpark means nothing. What's great about our current team is they've made it cool to be a Brewer. Much like Reggie White & Brett Favre changed the culture around playing in Green Bay, this group is doing the same in Milwaukee. Guys like Trevor Hoffman could play in a big city like LA, but he chose to Milwaukee. That says more to me than about this team and Milwaukee than anything Brenly says.
  8. Posted my view in the IGT...As for the Cardinal announcers, their St. Louis is holier than thou attitude is so annoying. They somehow think they are the keeper of the bible on how the game should be played. Of course they look the other way when their best player was a roid freak (McGuire) or their headhunting manager starts throwing at people. Annoying.
  9. My Man Crush on Braun gets bigger every game. You are right BA..."That's what he does", clutch just flat out clutch. Man these Cubs games stress me out. Hats off to Dave Bush too...pitched very well and kept us in the game, surely he could have gone farther. I am really digging Trevor Time too...I don't think Kendall had to move his glove one bit during the ninth...incredible control. As for the Cardinal announcers, their St. Louis is holier than thou attitude is so annoying. They somehow think they are the keeper of the bible on how the game should be played. Of course they look the other way when their best player was a roid freak (McGuire) or their headhunting manager starts throwing at people. Annoying. As for the fans in Milwaukee's largest suburb...yeah, you never had a clutch player do something awesome then stick his tongue out? Face it, when the Brewers play the Cubs, the best player on the field will be for sometime...Ryan Braun.
  10. Way to get us started Gorman. We should be the favorites in all three games...which means we'll be lucky to win one. For what ever reason we seem to struggle with these no name first timer dudes, but I am sure this is selective memory that could be refuted by one of our SABR guys. The way we are starting to mash the ball, I'm hoping this guy will be thrown into the lion's den with an ensuing residual effect on their bullpen! Follow that with Yovani and Mother's Day (Bill Hall...what more do you need to know). This should be an interesting weekend in the NL Central with all the contenders matching up. Things could really tighten up with all the Reds top starters going this weekend.
  11. With all the press and focus on this issue, why anyone would take anything without consulting with a team doctor is beyond me...which tells me you would only do it if you weren't supposed to. It doesn't sound like it's 'roids, but it's something. MLB just continues to tarnish themselves with all of this. There is no sport were history, continuity and stats matter as much as baseball...the steroid era has blown all that out and made the record book a joke. example, Eddie Matthews or Hank Aaron's 500th HR...very big deal...Gary Sheffield's...meh. Management and the union have dug their own grave on this one.
  12. Can you blowup that last inning? I want to see how it changed when Corporan got his hit...and Braun...and Fielder...man, that was fun.
  13. When he tells his Grandkids it won't matter. He'll just be tied for the all-time MLB lead in career Batting Average. Way to go Carlos!!! That's what makes these blowouts fun.
  14. I live 2 miles from my office...that's 4.5 runs/mile on my commute. To their credit, the Reds announcers implied Arroyo had nothing after Braun's first AB. This is what the Dr. ordered.
  15. I thought they said on MLBN last night that the Orioles over the expansion Royals at 23 (1969-1970) was the longest streak.
  16. Nothing is less interesting to a bunch of east coast cable programming execs than Milwaukee, except maybe Pittsburgh. Unless Brett Favre suits up as a reliever and Troy Polamalu replaces Nyjer Morgan as their leadoff hitter...I wouldn't expect this to change.
  17. 2016 is a lifetime in professional sports these days. Maybe he'll even come back in 2025 for a couple year swan son ala Ken Griffey Jr. in Seattle. I say enjoy the ride. Yes he's cocky as all get out, but he seems to be self aware which tones it down a little. He also seems to have great rapport with his teammates. I'm sure he enjoys the trappings of his emerging celebrity, but he takes his job and his team seriously. It's not like he was firing balls over Prince's head on purpose ala Gary Sheffield when he was struggling at third. The guy was out at Pepperdine all off season putting in full days shagging flies to get ready for left field. He's also the only one of our current team to put his name on the dotted line for a long term deal. In that sense he's the only one that's truly made the long term commitment to Milwaukee. Of course we know how it's going to end and eventually he will leave, but so will JJ Hardy and we all love that guy. Fielder and Hart haven't been willing to sign up either. Braun will likely outlast all of them as Brewers. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
  18. We've arrived. Considering 7/9 shirts are either Yankees or Boston, that's an accomplishment to be labeled as a rival. Now how about a Brewers jersey with Bartman on the back.
  19. I felt the same way until Karstens hit Braun...now I want to drive them into oblivion.
  20. At least he's usually in for one hitter...so you find out quickly if he has it or not.
  21. Huge runs...hopefully takes any question about Trevor off the table. Gotta give credit where it is due...Clutch Craig Counsell has been our best option off the bench.
  22. No way Yost would ever make that move. Kudos to Macha, Jaramillo has owned Soup.
  23. Was thinking Weeks...but that picture was awesome saxyman.
