  1. Jenkins was the only full time Brewer hitter to put up decent numbers post all star break last year. Hitting 281 with 15 HR in 73 games. If you want a specific month just look at last september. .299 avg, 6 doubles, 2 triples, 7 HR, 22 RBI in 107 AB.
  2. I'm a little worried about Overbay's ability to hit offspeed stuff but not terribly worried. The majority of players slump the 2nd half in their first full season in the major's and the team has been terrible around him which hurts a hitter in the long run.
  3. Whats up with Pods, he's not only hitting well he's been walking a ton the past week and a half. Guess the motivation of having the youngins brought up seems to be working with him.
  4. Pods gets 2 hits and sits the next day against a semi-shaky right hander. He must really be in the dog house. Unfortunately I don't think this team will stand a chance of getting to .500 without a productive pods in the leadoff spot so I sure hope Ned gives him a 2nd chance.
  5. When they IBB Magruder to face you, you almost have to be insulted. Come on Trent!
  6. Players relatively comperable to Beltran from a combination of speed/power at least, not sure how great they qualify in other categories but could be a start. Also some of these guys were comperable early in their career but not later as people tend ot lose speed. Eric Davis Joe Morgan Ricky Henderson - Though I don't recall him being that great of a fielder. Cesar Cedeno Ryne Sandberg Barry Bonds - Though his avg was usually low when he was fast Arod - might be the best fit Soriano Willie Mays - Another good fit though Beltran needs to step it up a notch to match Mays.
  7. As I mentioned in the 'I don't look at stats' thread, all it takes to be a bad pitcher for the brewers is to get unlucky and have them hit the ball to helms or grieve consistantly.
  8. A) June 5th against SD B) June 19th against Minn(double) Last time he got 2 hits including an extra base hit was May 1st against Pit (was actually 3 hits) On May 1st and April 7th he actually got 3 hits this year.
  9. Well to be honest I saw he hadn't started a game this year and figured it was a rookie, my mistake. Did not realize Scott Erickson was still out there pitching.
  10. This is a bad night to be a young pitcher. Graman for NYY, 4 ER in 1st inning and isn't out of it yet Erickson for NYM, 3 ER in 1st inning Hendrickson, well not good, heh.
  11. I don't think RS and RA really works for judging records. If you take out the brewers fifth pitcher from the stats I bet our RA is just about right where it should be. We just really get blown out bad a lot with that 5th starter. This of course happens to many teams but not all of the teams.
  12. "I find your lack of faith disturbing Best Star Wars Line Ever " I prefer the line from Return of the Jedi by Darth... The Emperor is not as FORGIVING as I am.
  13. Its Counsell's day off, he pinch hit for Santos and they did not put him in the game afterwards. Hall started at SS and is still playing SS.
  14. I'd rather have #2. However what I really want is #3 .300/.370 60 SB 22 HR's Hopefully he can get a better grasp on which balls he can drive and which he needs to slap and he can become the next henderson... one can always pray.
  15. PODZILLA! not looking forward to 2 more weeks of fly outs, but gotta love the power he's showing.
  16. My guess would be he's upset at himself for leaving wes out there for the 6th. As was said above, Wes left us in a very good position after 5, he always starts to lose it around the 5th, we have 13 pitchers and he was due up next so an easy double switch. There was really no reason Wes should have started the 6th.
  17. Because Jenkins has been swinging the bat well lately and I'm sure Yost is hoping that he is coming out of his year long slump.
  18. Wow, for once I'm actually glad to see Durrington pinch hit.
  19. Nobody said they should play Counsell just because he's a better 2nd hitter than Hall... they said Counsell is batting second for a reason. Give the lineup that is being put on the field on a daily basis Counsell is not a bad choice for #2. He does a good job of putting Pods into scoring position so Spivey/Jenkins/Overbay can drive him in.
  20. I'll agree with the others. While Counsel isn't my favorite choice in the world for a second hitter, he's much more useful there than Hall would be. The only change I could really see given the brewers every day lineup is putting Spivey batting second and overbay third, the brewers really do not have another player that can do the job of batting second properly, taking pitches, letting pods have his shots at stealing bases, executing hit and runs, dragging out the pitch counts etc. If counsell only hit .050 higher in avg he'd be a very solid 2nd hitter, now he's a sound second hitter that just isn't a very good hitter.
  21. Gonna pretend this game didn't happen... brewers certainly look like a 100 loss team tonight.
