  1. According to Rosenthal, the Dodgers have expressed interest in Jenkins. Link If the Dodgers fail to get Gonzalez, they have depth in SP for the Brewers to trade with.
  2. I like Baldelli and would do this trade. Moreover, Baldelli's contract is attractive, he could be under Brewers control until 2011at a reasonable salary if the team options are exercised.
  3. If we trade Hall for pitching prospects, wouldn't that make our already poor offense worse in 2007? And why would the Twins want to trade their best pitching prospects for Hall? The Twins are currently short of starting pitching and are dipping into the farm, Garza and Perkins are already with the big league club. I seriously doubt the Twins will trade their best young (and very cheap) pitchers for Hall this offseason.
  4. Inman just keeps winning Man, I really like Will Inman's attitude, style and ambition...
  5. Me too. Dodgers probably want a relief pitcher too, I'd try to trade Jenkins and either Wise or Turnbow for Brad Penny (if he's available).
  6. I like the Brady Clark for Kim Byung-Hyun trade idea. I think Kim could be a useful reliever for the Brewers against right-hand batters.
  7. I don't think Brewers fans are cheap or poor, Wisconsin isn't a poor state. I think Wisconsinites are willing to spend more if there is a quality and winning team (which there isn't for a long time). When the Brewers ended 2005 with a .500 record, fans attendance shot up with expectations of a winning season in 2006 (before they fell miserably). Will the Brewers put out a quality and winning team for 2007 remains to be seen... Mark Attanasio is a rich New Yorker who now lives in LA. He was a long-time passionate Yankees fan, so he should know what a quality team is. I sure hope he doesn't take the Brewers fan support and faith for granted...
  8. For me, I'd prefer/hope to expand the trade to Davis and Jenkins for Milledge and Heilman. Mets may be looking for another corner OF bat to replace Floyd, if they are unable to get a Soriano, Lee or Drew, hopefully they might consider Jenkins.
  9. If the Yankees do want Davis, I would probably ask for Melky Cabrera, Chris Britton and Darrell Rasner.
  10. My apologies WestCoastBrewer, I didn't see this when I posted my topic in the 'Major League' forum.
  11. I wouldn't mind trading Clark and Zach Jackson for Jason Jennings. Really hope that the Rockies accept this offer.
  12. I think 3 years / $15MM for Roberts is too risky and may not be worth it for the Brewers. I hope Melvin don't do it, unless the third year is a team option with a $250,000 buyout.
  13. Looks like Melvin might be able to get something decent from the Orioles for Jenkins. I think it's unlikely the Orioles can get Carlos Lee.
  14. Offer Jenkins for Rodrigo Lopez, I think the Orioles will accept this trade.
  15. Boring day in the office, so I'm indulging in my fantasy... Assuming if we are unable to sign Aramis Ramirez to a FA contract, I hope to: Trade Davis, Hardy and Clark for Vernon Wells + 5 years / $62.5 MM extension. Trade Jenkins for Mike Morse. Sign FA Justin Speier to 2 years / $6.6 MM. Resign Ohka to 2 years / $11 MM Resign Cirillo to 1 year / $950 K Receive a low 1st round draft pick for Graffanino In LF, platoon Gross (against RHSPs) and Mench (against LHSPs). 16. Looking at the stats today, Nelson Cruz is playing quite well so far, In 53 ABs, .358 ave, .452 obp, 4 homers and 11 RBIs, but the 19 Ks is not good. Jose Capellan is also doing quite well so far, In 8.1 IPs, 1.08 ERA, 11 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB and 4 Ks. www.gigantesdelcibao.com/estadisticas/2006-07/regular/gigantes.pdf
  17. According to the chicago tribune, Cubs are interested and may negotiate to get Heilman.
  18. Isn't Gallardo currently considered one of the top pitching prospects in the game? I think most young power pitchers have Randy Johnson-esque upside, but whether he has another good pitch and good command of his pitches are also vital. Neugie had struggled with his command much of his career.
  19. The reason I find that Gallardo (and Inman) to be better pitchers than Neugebauer is based on their stats compared with Neugebauer at the same level. Neugebauer's control/accuracy wasn't good, resulting in high BBs.
  20. yeah, you're probably right that it's a bad example, what about Johan Santana as an example instead http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. I think both Gallardo and Inman are better pitchers than Neugebauer, and I don't think Crawford is as good as Beltran. To me, trading Gallardo for Crawford is a very difficult decision, which I will probably decline the trade. Gallardo's potential is higher than Neugebauer, and he has no injury history/problem. What if he turns out to be a Francisco Liriano? Edit: change the word better to as good as
  22. Personally, I haven't given up on Nix and hope he's given an opportunity with the Brewers next season. His performance in Nashville was very impressive. I think Nix has good SLG for a CFer, but needs to improve his OBP. He's still young enough to be given another shot and could possibly turn the corner in 2007, like Gross did in 2006. Comparing with Reed, I think Nix is better offensively and just as good defensively in CF. As for the Mariners fan's trade idea, I will probably do it if there are no better offers for Jenkins.
  23. Me too, I would like to see them pitch for the Brewers.
  24. The Brewers' 2005 Draft looking very good so far. Braun and Inman have been exciting to follow. If Gallardo pitches for the Brewers sometime next season, it would be exciting to see how he perform.
  25. I'm still hoping my trade for A-Rod fantasy comes true http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
