It'll be interesting to look at the highlight of that play. I remember it as a good throw by Braun. McGehee could have got the runner at 3rd, but Lucroy is not good at blocking the plate yet and Zach flat out blew his assignment of backing up.
Just picked an arbitrary starting point. Rickie's OBP in August and September - .321, dragged down by a .238 BA. I guess that also says how sizzling he was for a while.
Seems like Bush has given up a lot of HRs this year - I believe his total is at 27 now. I wondered if he was giving them up like Looper last year and Loop had 39.
Hey, Roy attacks Weeks, Hart and Braun the same as other pitchers. You'd almost think there was a scouting report on these guys. Result: three ugly at bats. I wonder if some media member could ask Sveum about that.
What's your theory on why Macha would refuse to play Gamel? You used to say in every post through your signature that you believed that Macha hated prospects. That looks like the opposite of reality. So what's your theory?
What was that pitch that Cappy was throwing besides his fastball and change-up, a slider or cutter or something? That really helped him. i don't remember seeing that before. His change-up really doesn't seem to be working well at all.
Actually, league equivalencies are a crude attempt to compare the relative quality of leagues. Just because someone puts up a webpage that executes a calculation doesn't mean much.
I think it would be great if Katin could adapt to not playing regularly and produce in that role. That happens sometimes although not usually. Having said that, Inglett is an infielder who is able enough to play a game or two if needed. The reason he threw in the 50s as an emergency pitcher was because he was told to dial it back to avoid any chance of injuring himself.
I suppose they aren't funny, but some of the comments in that article made me laugh. I want to know what place was rented for a wedding that cost more than 10K. Regardless, it doesn't sound too promising there.
