  1. When a guy gets hit on an 0-2 curve, I highly doubt it was on purpose. Prince is probably glad he got hit. It isn't like he has the best young hitter in the game behind him....oh wait....
  2. When is the last time Soup has thrown like this? I keep waiting for the 3 run inning!
  3. Well how about that walk off he hit against us last summer for starters......
  4. Can't wait to watch Baseball Tonight this evening where John Kruk flip flops on his pick on the second day of the season and has the Brewers winning the World Series.
  5. Top of the Cubs lineup.........0-14!
  6. Now if Weeks can get on, steal a base, get bunted over and score.....I'd feel a lot better.
  7. He will be fine. Sheets looked great in bullpens, Mota looked great in games.
  8. Here comes the Gabe Gross dong onto Sheffield!
  9. Let the Sveum era begin! No wonder EVERYONE in Boston hated him!
  10. To bring in Ramirez and then jam a shot down his throat....
  11. Bold prediction gone awry. I am still thinking Gross hits the first Brewer HR in pinch hit duty.
  12. I am stuck at school in Arizona and can only get a biased Cubs blog from the Tribune to know what is going on. I know Sheets is rolling, but does he look as dominant as last year's opener?
  13. Gabe Gross a PH shot onto Sheffield in the 8th in the first game.
  14. As of 1:21 CT, MLB is 1/4 in getting games in. TOR/NYY is delayed (should have been in Toronto) and the Cubs and Reds home openers are delayed as well. Maybe we should have just played all games in Comerica Park today. That makes about as much sense. Down here in Phoenix.....76 and sunny. The Dbacks/Reds should be here, the Brewers/Cubs should be in Milwaukee and the Jays/Yanks should be in Toronto. The schedulers should be fired.
  15. Wishful thinking, but other than the fact that Maryvale is SUPER tiny, it's only 15 minutes from my house. Open up there. The rest of you can watch on TV! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. Agreed twobrewers about Parra vs. CV. Sitting behind home plate for a majority of spring training games this year, Parra has MUCH better stuff. More life on his fastballs, more cut on his breaking balls. Not to mention for the roatation he is OUR ONLY LEFTY NOW! Maybe I am the only one who thinks having 5 right handed pitchers in a rotation is a bad thing?! I hate this though. Although Cappy may have been getting roughed up a bit he is a TREMENDOUS guy. He signs autographs for everyone, is extremely friendly, and is a class act in every aspect. Yesterday I was at early morning BP and he was throwing balls underhanded and my heart sunk immediately. I knew it was bad after reading about the injury, but seeing him throwing like that was hard to watch. After BP was over, as people were getting autographs from him, I asked how his elbow was feeling. He told me it felt good. I only wish he was telling the truth.....
  17. JJ was at practice today. He threw around a little with Rickie Weeks, which can always be an adventure. He bolted right after throwing and didn't take BP. I didn't go to the game today (Sweet 16 BABY!) but I am guessing Escobar played since he didn't take BP. I overheard him say that he felt a lot better.
  18. Dillon has had an EXCELLENT week. He's seen a little more playing time since Braun has been out with his achilles issue. He has taken every opportunity. Thursday he hit a huge HR against the Dbacks and today he hit a double of the top of the wall, a triple and two singles. His stroke mechanically is REALLY nice and he has an excellent approach at the plate. I don't know about him defensively, but I would be okay with him hitting in the first 25 games of the year.
  19. I've seen him throw twice this year in games and neither time did he even CLOSELY resemble Cordero. Aside from Weeks, Gagne is the ONLY guy who scares me, largely due to his dominant role with the team.
  20. My DirecTV guide told me to go to the game, so that is what I will do. We have a pack of WI people, so look for us on TV. I'll wear my red Nashville Sounds hat and be lounging in the lawn.
  21. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/local/articles/0213cubs0213.html
  22. GOOOOOOOD QUESTION! I'm guessing some security people lost their jobs over that. I still find it to be pretty funny because Samardzija was fortunate enough to get everything back.
