  1. He will NOT sign sweet spots anymore. I can attest to this first hand. I have many a ball from Spring Training this year with Braun's sig not on the sweet spot. I did however see him sign a bat Ryan Braun '07 ROY. He is contracted out with UD from what I thought I overheard him say.
  2. I think they need some sense of accountability. That's all. I guess I wouldn't mind if Yost was held accountable for some of his decisions either.
  3. I understand that the position players need to hit in order to win. I understand that it is hard to win a MLB game scoring a minimal amount of runs. I understand that Ned Yost doesn't do the hitting, the baserunning, the fielding, etc. However, would anyone be upset if he went into the clubhouse after another pathetic showing and threw some stuff around and perhaps refocused the team, ala Lou Pinella or Jim Leyland? I don't necessarily think being a "player's manager" to a bunch of 20 somethings is a good idea. I think he needs to refocus this team a little bit and obviously the route he is going right now isn't working. Get pissed, challenge your team, and see what happens. It worked for the Tigers. It worked for the Cubs last year.
  4. My internet server at work won't let me write a PM, but if you send it to me, I can read it. I am planning on going cuz the Dbacks are fun to watch right now. Thanks!
  5. I agree! Joel has been awesome to work with. I HIGHLY recommend his seats.
  6. I would be concerned if they took two of three and beat Gallardo and Sheets. Our 1 is better, our 2 is better, and top to bottom our lineup is better. I'm not saying they aren't good, because it's too early to tell WHAT they are. However, I like the Brewers in the long run.
  7. I went to a game in either 05 or 06 (cant remember exactly) against the Reds. I was fortunate enough to sit 4 rows from their on deck circle. Griffey had a pretty good afternoon that day too. All game some guy sitting about 4 rows behind me was on Griffey since he hit the circle in the 1st inning. All game it was "Junior! YOU SUCK!" Just typical taunting lines that everyone has heard before. In about the 5th Jr finally replies with, "I'd be pissed off too if you had to watch my pretty swing on this nice summer day. I'm down here getting paid to play and it's a dream." Junior gets up to bat, cranks a bomb into the Brewers bullpen and goes on to blow the man a kiss as he walks into the dugout, huge smile and all. The man replies, "I've actually loved you since you started as a kid." Junior replies with "I know!" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. I have a load of autographed cards from '08 Spring Training. They don't come with COA's but I got them at Maryvale; I practically lived there this spring. I have Hardy, Hart, Fielder, Gallardo, Suppan etc. Anyways, I would be willing to trade for a "Prince" Fielder 08 bobblehead. I can make scans of cards if you would like to see them.
  9. I live in Phoenix and last year for their series in AZ we were able to get REALLY good tickets off of the diamondbacks.com website. We sat behind the dugout for all three games. Especially if you were to get them now, you should be able to.
  10. So you're saying more athletes would rather watch "The Color of Money" than "For the Love of the Game"?? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. Well, if my goal in my occupation was to win a championship, I would go to a team that would help me attain that. I don't think it's unfair to say that the Brewers stand a better chance of winning a title than the Reds do. So for you to say that any of us would take the money in the same situation, you're wrong. If I were a pro player in his situation, I would have taken the Brewers offer. If I were a money monger I would have at LEAST allowed the Brewers to match the offer.
  12. THANK YOU! He left for the money, not to win a championship. It's the epitome of greed, IMO.
  13. If I was Cueto, I wouldn't wanna face this Brewer's lineup in my 2nd career start. Hopefully they knock him around.
  14. Thank you. I found it to be a pretty good one after I thought of a bunch of different scenarios, coupled with the coverage that the Sox receive on ESPN, FSN (insert state), SI.com, etc. The Rays are team with youngsters (Longoria, Upton, etc.) that are a sexy pick to do well. Much like the Reds (Cueto, Bailey, etc.) who people think could be okay....personally I don't see it, but ask SI.com. The contract on Adam Dunn, IMO, won't be exercised at the end of his deal because he strikes out in HUGE numbers and isn't exactly a Gold Glove caliber outfielder....he's making $9M a year right now. How happy would you be with that contract if you're a Brewer fan and he's a Brewer?
  15. So, say you are working at Company X and a big competitor of your company offers you a 10% raise. Say you're making $70,000/year and the competitor offers you $80,000/year. You're telling me you wouldn't leave? Out of some sense of "loyalty"?? That's a crock. I don't understand people who boo former players (except, in the case of Sheffield, those who ripped the city or didn't give their all when they played here). Milwaukee is bush league in this regard. Why the hatred for Carlos Lee? It makes absolutely no sense. So a major league player's ultimate goal is to get as much money as possible? I guess I am from the mindset that baseball is a TEAM game with the ultimate goal of WINNING. Not hitting the bank. But, that's just me. Cordero's chances of winning a world title GREATLY diminished when he jumped ship to the Reds. You wanna know where my loyalty stands if I play pro ball? With whatever team can get me a ring.
  16. Haha....I am doing the same thing! Getting married at Lambeau on 7-11 and headed to Milwaukee the next day. Check the thread titled "Club Level Seats" (something like that) under this section. There is a guy with a pretty good deal on some 2nd row club seats. They aren't right down low, but you also are going to spend 4x less money for a seat with a pretty good view.
  17. Coco will, and SHOULD, get booed. I can only make it to the July 12/13 games. I will be booing louder than anyone I have ever booed in my life. (I'm not much of a booer either.) The chump left a legit contender to go to a team that is NOT the same caliber as the Brewers for $4M more before the Brewers were able to match the offer. What makes this even worse is the fact that he said he liked being a Brewer and wanted to be one......LIAR! This would be like if Ortiz left the Red Sox (one of the best at his particular position) to go to this year's Tampa squad. A move in the division to a team not as good. Imagine the roar that would receive?! Cordero obviously doesn't care about winning because Cincy hasn't been a contender forever, nor will they be until they unload some of their terrible contracts.
  18. Gagne the 9th. Have him go 1,2,3 and fan the side. Take the series and get some confidence back.
  19. Only because the JS Online blog sucks today....I have been reading this: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cubicle/refresh/cs-080402-chicago-cubs-cubicle,1,3408830.column Check out the comments. Gotta love Cubs fans!
  20. I love Riske.....probably the best signing of the off season.
  21. Who are the Brewers bringing out?
  22. Howry better nibble since he isn't intentionally walking him.
