  1. Couldn't you take Capitol? If the highway is slow, it's bound to be faster. When we move to Wauwatosa that's my plan if the interchanges are still all screwed up - I'll need to get to UWM.
  2. yes. I know Northern Brewer sells rhizomes (sp?) and some other websites....
  3. Bucky, I believe Hawing was referring to the fact that the Fan Forum Etiquette doesn't allow us to discuss politics on Brewerfan. That's what Brewerfan Political Scene is for. There's a lively discussion about this topic over there, but you know that b/c you're posting in that thread. edit: fixed link
  4. Not fair, he looks to be about my height.
  5. Oooh, what's your source? SgtClueLs wants to grow hops at our new place. He's at all-grain brewing class right now.
  6. Ok, who gardens? How big is your garden? What do you grow? Are you a good enough cook to use it all? We're starting our second year of a container-only garden. But, we're moving into our house at the end of May, so some of these containers may actually make it into the ground! I'll be spending the summer picking a spot for our garden, getting ride of the grass, tilling the dirt, and adding some compost from Growing Power. Seed-starting begins today, so I'll post some pics of our efforts later. I'd love to hear from other gardeners....I seem to remember Jamie having quite the growing operation in his basement a few years ago.
  7. Will folks be around for awhile? We have bowling till 8 or 9.
  8. Didn't realize the act was coming to town - just bought tickets for myself and SgtClueLs. He's playing this CD in the car all the time.
  9. I need to pay my renewal by the end of the month - probably won't be ready by wednesday. boo.
  10. yeah, it's generally easier to get the brewers to autograph before a game at a visiting ballpark. when you get there, ask the ushers where the best place to get visiting autographs is. You can also watch for the moment the starters exit the game and get their autograph then. That's how sgtcluels got Gabe Gross's autograph when the A's were at Maryvale.
  11. the same singles came up when I checked this afternoon, so if anyone is desperate.....but Terrace and SRO are selling for about $50 on StubHub.
  12. Lakefront Brewery also sells hooded sweatshirts with a beer pocket.
  13. Yeah, that came out yesterday morning. I was only able to find $195 singles in the diamond box.
  14. don't bottles have to condition for 2 weeks?
  15. eyesight can improve?
  16. I believe the Devry park and ride is only available on the weekends.
  17. I'm pretty sure managers at most stores have the discretion to grant a different price. It may not happen often, and it may be frowned upon, but in the right circumstance (disgruntled customer, damaged merchandise, etc) it may be possible. I'm sure a justification needs to be written and filed in triplicate (or something like that) so it's not going to get handed out to every customer that asks about it. What's the difference between haggling at Best Buy and haggling at American?
  18. Is that a bible verse on the Gonzalez auto?
  19. My season tickets arrived sometime last week, but our mail was held while we were on vacation so I got them today. So neat! Interesting to see Gomez "at bat" in front of the crowd in a Brewers uniform on them. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif This is our first year with something other than a Terrace Ticket Treat package so we have the NYCE stadium club membership card as well as 4 passes to every game. Who on earth could use all those?
  20. I didn't notice any stadium shuttles....maybe in scottsdale?
  21. I asked our neighbors to check daily for our tickets so they don't sit outside....here's hoping they did. I'll be home to check tomorrow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Ronnie Woo-Woo was at the game today. I could hear him "wooing" in the outfield from my 2nd deck seats behind home plate.
  23. weekend games at any park have a danger of selling out, especially later in the season. I've seen midweek games sell out in Scottsdale (Giants), Mesa (Cubs), and Tempe Diablo Stadium (Angels). Does that help?
  24. I love how TMZ has a "TMZ Sports" label, as if they do real sports stories.
  25. The giveaway bananza was rescheduled for today......but it consisted only of Kendall bobbleheads. yay? 3,034 people paid to see the game but I don't think they all made it in. It was 53 degrees at game time, and my little brother called to say that It was 56 in Appleton. Even though it was cold, the game was fun. Edmonds looks great out in center field (great arm, good hustle) and so does Gomez (incredible range). Gamel did pretty well at 3rd before he came out with shoulder soreness. Parra's numbers looked good, but his pitching didn't look that great. Juan Sandoval came in for a batter or two after Bush went out. According to Wikipedia he's blind in one eye. wow. Stuff I noticed today: -I made my way to a the minor league workout field to the left of the main gate (didn't know about this one before) - we watched Jeffress and a few other pitchers throw from just a few feet away. Couldn't get near the batty cages though. -There's another entrance to the park on the left-field side - looks like some folks park on the street over there to avoid paying for parking. -The Iceman made the trip down for spring training and is super happy to see folks from Milwaukee.
