  1. Seth is dodging bullets. These are some high quality offenses in this series http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Its about time to get the bats going
  2. i am starting to wonder if the guys producing this thing are just messing with us and this is all a big joke to them. I mean, the counts are always off, they barely show pick-off moves, there are random shots of people in the middle of plays.
  3. don't know exact speed, but have heard a few comments on radio about velocity being down a little bit so far today.
  4. The entire story about finding "adjustments" is just the Brewers' company line, or at least that is what I think. They have said the same thing about CV in the past few days. Its just a way to try and settle down the fan base. It always seems just when someone is struggling and the fan base/media is about to leave the player for dead, the team always manages to let us know that they found a glitch that needs adjustment.
  5. 12 straight outings Gagne has been unable to keep runners off base.
  6. I agree the closer role is completely overblown. One reason for this is because of the invention of the "save" as a statistic. Closers know they will get paid more if they rack up saves, because lets face it, nobody talks about how many "holds" a reliever has. the most ridiculous thing of all is when a team starts out the 9th with a 4 run lead and the reliever starts blowing the game. then a manager might bring in another guy who is completely effective and gets 2 outs but allows it to turn into a save situation (maybe a walk or a sacrifice). Then the closer gets up, warms up, and completes his 1 pitch save. I just hate the whole closing thing. I think you should have 2-3 guys you want near the end of the game, and you use those guys in the proper situations.
  7. my main problem with this whole thing is that Gagne isn't missing ANY bats. I always had the feeling when Cordero came in that 1-2 guys he'd face would be lucky to put solid wood on the ball. With Gagne, he isn't fooling anyone. The 10 pitch at bat with Andrew Jones is the best example I can think of. Jones is so mentally out it right now, I have to believe Cordero would have blown him away much easier.
  8. good news for the brewers as they are 5-0 when i'm in attendance and I'll be 4 rows behind the plate to make sure that they are feeling my mojo. With CV having a decent outing yesterday, it would be nice to get Parra back in a groove as well. the seemingly punchless dodgers are as a good a team to start against as any. Lets go Crew!
  9. the worst part is that we are one sheets incident away from this team potentially freefalling. Imagine the demands we will all have for Melvin if that happens. Melvin has done an adequate job. Very little of the bad start has to do with him. Hopefully we can right the ship, and then all will "be alright" (at least until the next disaster) I don't know about you guys, but to me it feels like we've gone through 2 full seasons already.
  10. You must have not gotten the memo. Don't you know that AAA players are better than guys in the Majors? OMG Weaver comeback POY and Cy Young candidate!@!@#! ok sorry my birthday was yesterday and my headache has made me a little bit chippy. Your comments are right on.
  11. at this rate I just hope they are better than the Rockies by the time they go out to Denver so I don't have to watch 3 losses out in colorado. especially since I planned the bachelor party around the brewers. please crew, find a way to win
  12. anyone think that Laporta might come into play here if they look to make a move? I just think that if they are "in it to win it" they have to bring in another arm. I am sick to my stomach right now.
  13. remember guys, the only way you are going to continue your streak of blowing sweep opportunities is if you win tonight http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I think Dempster gets roughed up tonight, Soup battles and the Brewers win 7-5
  14. jesse orosco rented the house next to my aunt and uncle's. he'd give me tickets every week, and I'd eat chips and salsa with his family.
  15. A marlin fan from the area? I agree it is difficult to imagine http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. up next for the 1st place cubs--the amazing Washington Nationals.
  17. In Ned's defense, no matter who got brought in the eight inning, if they gave up 2 runs SOME fan would have been saying this, except change the name of the reliever. To sum up, if a manager brings in ANY reliever in a close game, and that reliever gives up runs, it was a bad move by the manager. That's a tough crowd to please. I agree with you right now that in many people's eyes, If a move is successful the player is complimented, if it tanks the manager is criticized. I was at the game last night and my entire section devoted their energy in 5th - 8th inning to talking about how Yost blew the game for not taking Bush out.
  18. i turned my radio to 720 because i want to hear some pain in santo's voice.
  19. with how bad their bullpen has been (coming from a brewer fan that's saying something) they had better get about 5 runs. I think this is 5 games in a row that they have had the lead after the 7th inning and have given it up.
  20. I'm sure it is far from a managers favorite task to go out and deal with the press after a loss, but it is part of the job (a job many would kill to have). Act like a professional. What do I want you to say Ned? That given the options in the bullpen today that you went with the wrong guy and that apparently Riske's spot is the middle of the plate because that is where he seems to throw every pitch that and also his refusal to admit anybody is struggling really eats at me sometimes.
  21. now i know how cubs fans felt last year in the beginning of the season when it seemed like we got every break. Are they ever going to lose again?
  22. hey if they can go 21-11 in the next month + they can match last year http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. I love how Yost acts like he is above reproach I've been one of his biggest defenders but even I can't handle the way he conducts his press conferences. I understand the last thing he wants to do is answer some stupid questions after a tough loss but at least act like a human being. "HE MISSED HIS SPOT! HE MISSED HIS SPOT WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?!!
