  1. I hope they go back and do at least 2 old timers............Scott, Hisle, Sixto, Benji, Vuke, Deer and/or Sveum Easter Sunday, Higuera, Cirillo, Vaughn, Surhoff, Plesac............ Love the idea of a Selig. Not sure he would sell tickets. Stack the extras next to the Melvins in the basement of Miller Park waiting for the next flood to wipe them out! As for current guys. Hoping they hold off on rookies like Lucroy, Cain, Escobar. Time will tell if they are "bobble worthy". Wolf, Gallardo, McGehee would be great. If Counsell is back I think he would sell lots of tickets and is appropriate I think since he a local. I could see them doing an Axford, but I hope he doesn't do a Turnbow and see his career fall apart once they give them out. How about a "real hair" mustache for Axford??? Trevor 600 makes a lot of sense.
  2. Fyi........The mark a bobble was given away by his wife at a 50th Birthday party she had for him. That is what mark told me in spring training when I had him autograph mine.
  3. I will be there with my son and am hoping to get lucky with Randolph, Gerut or Prince (though I wouldn't cry if I got some of the other guys). I am hoping there will lots of chances to "trade" wrist bands as things play out........
  4. Keeping "us" away is exactly what they want to do.............even though in a couple of years they will change all of these policies in order to "bring us back" after their ticket sales fall and they once again "want" ("need") our money.
  5. Sorry, sold them already.
  6. I just picked up an extra set of the J Sterling coins that were produced in 1984, 1985 and 1986. The coins were produced one per year and are limited to 1000. This is a matching number set. The coins are Rene Lachemann, Robin Yount and Paul Molitor. Let me know if you are interested. They are pretty cool, and tough to come by. $100
  7. Anyone know what he means by the Media Issued Bobbleheads?
  8. The last issue was produced at the end of 1992. After that they produced the "Lead Off" magazine which they produced until a few years ago when they switched to the free "playbills" that they are still giving away up to today.
  9. Does anyone know of a definitive checklist of the old What's Brewing magazine? I just purchased what was to be a complete run of the mag, but upon further inspection, found there are a number of issues missing. If anyone has a checklist to share, or that I could collaborate to compile one, please let me know. According to their last issue, there were more than 130 issues. I have 104 different. Any help would be appreciated. Mark
  10. Have to say I am disappointed. Sabathia is the best by far. Aaron and Yount are too generic. I was hoping they would do a real creative Yount with him on the shoulders of everyone..........not sure how it would have looked, but it would be different. I was hoping the Cooper would be a bit more "expressive" as he waved the ball to fall. Oh well..........no retros at least this year!
  11. I am trying to build my set of 5x7 cards from the On Deck event.......... Did anyone by chance pick up a Doug Davis, Jody Gerut or Josh Butler? If so, please let me know. I will gladly make a generous trade in your favor. Thanks Mark
  12. It also says they will team photo cards. I wonder if that is going to be the only thing they sign. That will discourage adults from hiring kids if it is the case.
  13. I think that if the retros create interest and demand for Brewer tickets, the Brewers will continue to do them. Their bottom line is to make a profit.........not sure if they need the retros to sell out games, but they do get people "excited"!
  14. I purchased tickets yesterday and got tickets 7595-7597, so just shy of 8000............Maybe with walk up 10,000?
  15. You gotta love the Brewers micro-managing things............ I wonder if you approach the players with something else what they would do????? I really thought the Brewers were cool with collectors (we spend a lot of money with them)..........this reminds me of the "anti-collector" attitudes when Wendy ran the team. If they are doing it here (when the lines were orderly last year), I bet this is a test run for autograph Fridays! If they went to 5x7 cards only on Fridays, you will not have "collectors" running to the gates like happens every Friday. Fortunately I collect the 5x7s, but was wanting a bobble signed by Prince...........oh well, not waiting 6 hours for a 5x7 and then paying $40 for it.
  16. Spivey being on a World Championship team in AZ will be do-able someday. I am sure he will do a signing there sometime. Hammonds I am sure will show up somewhere (probably not in MKE), but maybe Baltimore! I have faith!
  17. I have been getting them signed since they started them back in 2001. A lot of leg work and some help along the way. Had to pay for the Younts, Molitor, Vuke and Aaron. Otherwise just a lot of "hawking". I have a big head for Fielder for Fanfest, and hope to knock the Suppans, Cirillo and Anatassio. That leaves Spivey, Hammonds, Surhoff and Lawrie (who I can get in ST). Always fun!
  18. Addicted me too...........I also try to get each of them signed! UGH! I wish I could stop, but it is a disease!!!! I still need to get the following signed to "complete" the collection: Attanasio, Spivey mini, Hammonds, Suppan (both), Cirillo (beloit), Surhoff (Beloit), Lawrie (TR) and the four TR from this past winter. Hopefully can get a couple next weekend, and then the rest in Spring Training!
  19. If a sausage is one of the other two bobbles, that means that there would only be one possible "variant" bobble. The sausages and the four decade bobbles will all be "one style" of jersey. To bad they didn't do a second 1980s bobble of Deer and Sveum
  20. I checked the Brewers website for the press release last year and they had 27 guys initially announced (Fielder was later added). A couple of the minor league guys were announced ahead of time (Rogers and Green) and non roster invitee Morlan. Hopefully that means that they will add a bunch of the minor league guys from the 40 man (and Lawrie too, though I doubt it) as surprises for us.
  21. As I look at the list closer, it looks like they might not have wanted/invited the minor leaguers on the roster to attend. Everyone who is set to attend played on the big league club last year or was signed during the off season.
  22. The 40 man roster will be there except for the following: Lofgren, Periard, Rivas, Rogers, Scarpetta, Salome, Counsell, Cruz, Heether and Cain. Nice job of getting the whole 25 man roster together. Only Counsell will be absent. Love Vaughn and Cirillo!
  23. Omar Aguilear (sp) as well.
  24. Last year they had about 30 guys from the 40 man roster there, plus the coaching staff, and some alumni. I do not believe they had anyone not on the 40 man roster, but I could be wrong. I don't know if the roster was full at the time of the event but the following guys were not there that were on the roster at the time of the event: McClung, Hall, Kendall, Escobar, Iribarren, Riske, Julio. I hope Lawrie is there as well, but I don't believe he is on the 40 man roster yet.
  25. I was in their ticket office today..........was told there were 96 of each made and about half of them are gone. I bet the numbering means #10 and the 2010 is just the year they are produced.
