I am "cleaning out" some stuff around the house and realize that I will never have the room I want to display everything I have so I have decided to "move" a few items that I don't see ever having room to display. The first item is a Framed and Autographed Robin Yount "Rockin Robin" Costaco Brothers Poster from the early 1990s. Got is singed myself at County Stadium after a game by Robin. $150 The second is an Andy Goralski Framed litho of Paul Molitor. Numbered 39 out of 400! Signed by Paul and the artist. Has a remarque of Molitor holding the WS MVP trophy. Framed and double matted. Small crack in the glass, that can be easily swapped out for a new piece of glass. $300 Finally is 1995 Wisconsin Sports Hall of Fame litho of George Pollard. Signed by Pollard as well as the five inductees: Dan Jansen, Robin Yount, Bonnie Blair, Al McGuire and Oscar Robertson. Numbered 13/50. Framed and Matted. $250 Send me an email at mark@grunske.com and I can send photos of any/all of them. Mark
Fingers and Yount will be at on deck. The other 82 Brewers ( except possibly Gorman and Gumby depending on their fantasy camp flights) will not be at On Deck, they will only be at Waukesha Sportscards.
I remember last year a number of us did some swapping of Game Day Programs. Hoping we could maybe do the same thing again........... Here is what I need for this year..... #2, 5, 6, 12, 16, and 18. Also looking for 2006 Game Day #6. Have lots of extras from this year to trade. Anyone want to do some trading? LMK Mark
If you don't have your tickets for Nyjer this weekend, call now and order them. I talked to robb today and he said he is close to selling out of the allotted tickets. He hopes he will stay longer, but he won't know until he arrives on Saturday.
Axford and Marcum will be at Waukesha Sportscards on Sept 10th...........Though you would have to pay for the auto, you don't have to wait hours in line. They also have Nyjer and Mark Kotsay on August 27th.
My biggest hope is that the bobbles get a little more creative in design. Many of the bobbles from the last coule of years have seemed to be to be very unimaginative and lacking much detail. I swear Lucroy is the model for the mcgehee bobble.
A few of us on the board collect the 5x7 cards that are handed out at each autograph station. I know not a lot of people don't care about them and don't even pick them up. Personally, I would love the help of any board member who could pick up any cards they have access to on Sunday. I will get extras of who I can , and would love to network with others come Monday morning. I can and will trade cards, autographs, etc for any one that can help. Thanks! Mark
Jeff Cirillo and Fernando Vina are appearing at Waukesha Sportscards today. They have Chris Bosio, Teddy Higuera and Juan Nieves signing the first Saturday of February. Thought some of you may want to know.
Back when they closed down good ole' County Stadium I bought a bunch of stuff hoping to one day create the "ultimate" man cave. Well, reality has set in, and the "ultimate" man cave will not be happening. My loss could be your gain. I have a set of metal lockers from the Brewers locker room that I am looking to sell. I can provide some pics if you are serious about them. They are very cool, but very big and heavy.........you would need a pick up to get them home. $1000 for the lockers. I also have some wooden seats that bake to the 1953 opening of the Stadium. They saw it all. I have 2 and 3 wood seats in a row. $250 for two seats, $375 for three seats. Let me know if you have any interest. Mark
I had a similar situation about two years ago...........I had a glass shelf and it fell off the wall...........All of my "old timer" bobbles were on it Aaron, Yount, Molitor, Gorman, etc.........All were retros (were applicable) and all were autographed. Had to replace all of them. It sucked big time! Fortunately for me the shelf above them had all the minor league bobbles (all signed) and that shelf was fine............I took all of my bobbles down and boxed them back up. Waiting to get some cash to purchase a cabinet of some sort to house them.
Love the idea of the three 100 RBI guys.........but make them full size and interlocking bobbles.........and give away all 3 on the same day, like they did the 3 versions of Yount a few years back.
