  1. I don't think that idea is bad, especially because I get the 5x7 cards signed each year. However most events where you can get autographs are somewhat chaotic...........Auto Fridays, Block Parties...........the easiest cure to avoid the chaos is to trade Braun, Fielder, Hoffman, Weeks, Hall, Gallardo, etc. Then the crowds would go not be nearly as large!!! I remember back in the 90s, when you could get EVERY GUY signing in the 20 minutes!
  2. BHF: I agree. That is why I said "most"!
  3. I don't think there is an "easy solution" to this. I agree that we are lucky to have these dates, and had a feeling that as last year went on that we would not have these opportunities again. Seems like too big of a liability for the Brewers to keep doing things the way they do. I like the "wrist band" idea the best. Give out 80/90/100 "Guranteed" wrist bands. Let the players know that when they are done, they are done and can go in. Start giving out the wrist bands at a certain time on a "first come, first served" basis and go from there. Takes the "stress" and "danger" out of the situation. (Similar to how they did Yount and Uecker at the On-Deck event about three years ago) Of course, this system pays for those who get their "early", and as a teacher, I am easily able to do this almost every week. However, if you have eight guys signing each night (or ten with alumni) you are giving out a thousand autographs. Did you ask him at all about the possibility of getting blue sharpies on the tables? That is really my one complaint/concern after last week. As someone who has been a collector since I was nine years old, and have been a dealer and promoter at times, I don't really think that dealers are a big issue here. Knowing who owns stores and who has tables at shows, you really don't see those guys in line. (At times I have wished more dealers were there so I could "hire" them to get something signed for me.) The most aggressive people in my opinion are the "regulars" who take their autographs very seriously (myself included) who love autograph fridays and do sprint to the lines to try to get a signature of the player(s) they need the most to finish off the item(s) they are working on. In most cases, I believe (I could be wrong) those signatures don't get sold, it is just you see the same people there every week (myself included) and so the "dedicated die-hard autograph collector" line gets blurred between those people and those that are called "dealers". Am I wrong on this observation? Thanks for the making the phone call. Very "heads-up" and proactive on your part. I think the best thing for the Brewers to do, whatever they do, is to be fair, honest and up-front with the fans. I also think that the Brewers could do something with the players to raise money for charity with "us" as a community. I know that Todd Helton, Troy Tulowitski (sp) and Larry Walker (before he left) will/would sign through the mail for $25.00 per sig for Rockies charities. If I had that opportunity with the Brewers I would write a check and jump at the chance to get Billy Hall, Rickie, Weeks, and such. It would keep me (and some others) away on most autograph fridays and allow more fans to partake in the "experience" which is what the Brewers want.
  4. If there were only 1,000, then the odds were roughly 1 in 45. Given almost no one knew about it, how many actually survived/will surface will be interesting!
  5. I will buy one if any one parts to with one.
  6. Super Collector: The cards are different. Nicer than last year in my opinion. Do you have any extras from the Winter Warm Up? I need about 10 and have about 10 extra. BHF: I think the Brewers just buy their sharpies in black for "front office" use and then some make their way to the locker room for autographs. You can get boxes of black sharpies at any office supply store, but blues in boxes are harder to find, so that is my guess why they don't have blues. I was early in line so he took mine. I am guessing that the employees then told him to not do it any more. While I agree there is still a chance of germs spreading, the way they did it does cut down on them however. I honestly thought they might cancel the signings as a result of it. Glad they didn't do that. Have to wait and see what this Friday brings.
  7. Crowds were smaller than the summer months, which makes sense. I got down there at 4, and was 5th in line. Didn't think I would stand a chance to get Braun. But I made the dash and ended up 14th. Also had time to get Jorge Julio and Ed Sedar. Very good night. They kept all the players about ten feet away from the stands and had employees take your items to the player and back to lessen the impact of germs/flu. They had black and silver sharpies and blue ballpoints. Sucked if you wanted a blue sharpie auto. However I asked Braun to sign one of the 5x7 cards with Blue Sharpie (before I knew he didn't have one) he said he didn't have one and I tossed him mine, so he gladly took it. Julio would not take it, and I didn't ask Sedar. Braun would not sweet spot balls, and personalized some items, but I know his personalization policy was not consistent as two friends of mine got 11x14s signed and he personalized one, but not the other.
  8. Check out Steiner's website. Aaron is appearing for them at a retail store in NY on June 13th. Prices are $160 for flats and $300 for others. I have sent in an item or two for each of Aaron's last three signings (each with Steiner) and while I don't know this for sure, I would bet a bunch that Legends is just taking the items to the signing and making a profit of about $100 to $200 per item (or more if they are getting wholesale pricing). I encourage you guys to do mail order with Steiner. They aren't cheap, but I have never had anything but positive experiences with them! Plus, in regards to Aaron, they are the only ones to have had him for a signing in YEARS!!!
  9. Waukesha Sports Cards has them.
  10. sent you a pm the other day, have not heard back.
  11. Awesome list of "Old Timers"! I would add a Deer/Sveum interlocking bobble similar to the Astros Bagwell and Biggio. A Molitor/Yount/Gantner interlocking one would be nice too, though there are a ton of Yount bobbles already. Bambi, Caldwell and Burnitz would be other good oldtimers. They could do an "ugly off" bobble to see if the could do a "meaner/dirtier" looking bobble between Caldwell and Vuckovich!
  12. I am a bit surprised by Suppan given how the year ended..................... However doing six bobbles a year has now caught up to them. There just are not that many current players to do if you don't add in a couple of old timers along the way. Hence Suppan and Melvin. Yovanni and Parra I am sure are being "held back" for next year. I have to think that Cameron is still on the block. If he was off the block I think they would have given him one since this will probably be his last year with the team.
  13. I don't see him on the AAA roster............. Anyone know for sure?
  14. I talked to their representatives at the On Deck event and they said that was the only bobble they were planning on doing this year at this time. I told them they needed to think of doing a Tony Kubek, since he lives in Appleton and is the HOF announcer (and Milwaukee native) being inducted in Cooperstown this year.
  15. Thanks! Periard was the guy I didn't know about.
  16. New Guesses: Braun game winning Homerun (him rounding the bases with arm in the air) Hoffman Gallardo Kendall Sausage Really wish the 6th would be CC but my guesses would be: a Brave, Parra, Cameron
  17. For the last few years I have tried collecting all of these cards. I am looking for the Ray Durham card that was given out at the August Block Party in Elm Grove. If you can help out, I will pay $20.00. Also, for those of you were at On Deck, I picked up a bunch of the cards of the scheduled guests...... but know that there were also cards given out for the Alumni that were there (Thomas, Gumby, Augie, Sanders, Hisle) and that were four players who signed in the Minor League area including Mark Rogers and Cody Scarpetta. Did anyone catch who else signed with these guys and if there were any other cards issued? Always looking for more of these cards, especially if you have a bunch of older ones. Thanks
  18. Not sure exact numbers, but there were at least a few hundred tickets sold
  19. I was there and thought it went well. Got my stuff signed just as I had hoped. Was a bit disappointed that he signed my bobble "P Vuckovich" as he said there was not enough room to sign his full name. However he was very professional, nice, cooperative, etc. Glad I got a bunch of team pieces completed by all members of the 82 team!
  20. Paul Molitor will be signing at Waukesha Sportscards on the 10th. Prices start at 65 and go up to 80. Rob Deer will also be there that day at 15.00 each. On January 31 they have Marshall Edwards and Sixto Lexcano.
  21. Mint in box, never touched. $265. Just looking to get reimbursed for it. Let me know if you are interested. Cash payment required.
  22. I really like the idea. I am sure the cash will go to charity like in does at Twins fest, admission fee and cost per sigs will reduce the crowd and mean I/we won't have to stand in line/fight with others as long as we would otherwise. There will be free autographs as well, so that will make some people happy. Go Brewers! Now lets make it two days, there so there are 500 sigs of everyone available. One step at a time however.......very pleased with this however!
  23. I think Kendall stands a pretty good chance of having one as well as Yovanni and at least one sausage. I think a CC one would be great, possibly for an April give away. Celebrate it, don't dwell on it, and get it over with all at the same time. Bush, Suppan, Cameron (if he is back) are also in the running. Maybe even Torres
