  1. [sarcasm]I know it’s hard for us Packer fans to understand, but some teams can actually get stops when they pin an opponent inside the 10.[/sarcasm]
  2. As much as I like Aaron Jones, that fumble start the second half of last year’s NFC Championship will always stick with me.
  3. But the same doesn’t think it’s worth trading a 6th rounder for Cobb.
  4. It’s fun when it happens to the other team for once.
  5. Did they even replay it? I thought they just cut to commercial. (lame)
  6. I honestly think that happened. Huge break. Makes up for the little push on Jaire, I guess.
  7. I don’t think so either. Huge break right there. Continue piling on Special Teams.
  8. I am still always assuming the defense will allow TDs from anywhere on the field. Going to take a while for that perception to change. Same. Every time the opposing team takes possession, I assume they’re scoring 7. Stops and field goals are a win. I’m just conditioned to think like that. It’s been that way since the 4-12 season where Ahmad Carrol held on every other play.
  9. To each their own, but I can’t imagine paying $100 a pop for NFL tickets when the product on TV is so good (and free). Maybe once every few years as a novelty.
  10. Same … it’s been delayed so many times. It was supposed to come out July 10, 2020. I’m also looking forward to Jurassic Park: Dominion next summer.
  11. It’s just bananas that the Lions fired Jim Caldwell after he went 36-28 in his 4 seasons in Detroit. In the last 50 years, he is the only Lions head coach to have a winning tenure with the team (out of 13).
  12. Speaking of poverty franchises, the Browns just scored a TD right before halftime to seemingly tie the Vikings 7-7. On the ensuing PAT, the Vikings called a 4th timeout (which they didn’t have) and were flagged for delay of game. The Browns opt to attempt a 2-point conversion from the 1-yard line and now lead 8-7.
  13. Progressive Insurance commercials. They’re cranking out some A material between ‘Protecting you from Becoming your Parents’ and ‘At Home with Baker Mayfield.’
  14. I re-watched the final 37 seconds yesterday (just to appreciate the vintage Rodgers / Crosby moment). Before the second completion to Adams, Ruvelle Martin pulled MVS by the waist to get him back on the sideline and prevent the offense from having 12 men on the field (MVS was caught up in cheering). Very savvy move by our ‘coaching fellow.’ I hope he gets a chance to coach in the NFL, if that is his desire.
  15. I think the Packers take care of business today, but I predict a close one: 27-20. EQ is up from the practice squad, but they don’t have to burn his second (and final) elevation because they have a COVID exemption for Tyler Lancaster.
  16. How often do you call your brother to help around your house with projects? How often does he call you for financial advice? Maybe once a year I call him for advice on how to approach a repair and he says ‘I’ll just do it next time I’m there.’ I try not to lean on him too hard for routine things because I’d rather keep my favors for an emergency. We talk openly about our finances and I’ll share my opinion, when asked. The average person would probably tell you it’s better to have a brother who is a carpenter than one who is a banker.
  17. [sarcasm]I expected better things from a QB with his own logo.[/sarcasm]
  18. In 15 years, they could sell the entire TTD for a substantial gain. The fixed investments are not an obstacle. In 2011, this team sold pieces of paper with the team logo and raised $60 million. Again, I think they stay put in Ashwaubenon and continue to play outdoors, but history tells us we’re due for some uncomfortable conversations about the future of Lambeau Field in 15 years. I can all but guarantee the 0.5% Brown County sales taxes comes back at some point.
  19. Thanks for the HVAC tips. I’m going to get a second quote to make sure the first one wasn’t too off base.
  20. Not a chance. The Packers have built a whole brand around the "Frozen Tundra". There is no way they sacrifice that. Zero chance of building a dome in Green Bay. I think there’s still a non-zero probability they go deep into the suburbs and build a larger indoor stadium with another ‘Titletown’ district. City Stadium lasted 31 years. Lambeau Field field was around for 43 years before the $295 million renovation started. It’s been 18 years since the renovation was completed. It’s not unreasonable to think we’re having uncomfortable conversations about the future of Lambeau Field in 15 years.
  21. Vic can be a little salty, but I like his honest, concise writing style. I’ve been reading his column since 2013. First on Packers.com and now on his own domain.
  22. Does anyone read ‘Ask Vic?’ It’s an NFL Q&A column by a retired Packers’ media employee who also worked for the Jaguars and covered the Steelers earlier in his career. He predicts the Packers will eventually go to a domed stadium because the year-round entertainment potential outside of 10-12 football games is too important for a team / city to pass up: https://www.askvic.us/
  23. Can I negotiate the price I was quoted for a new furnace and AC or would that be in poor taste? We have a good relationship with the company (they’ve bailed us out quickly when the old furnace died in winter). I’ve negotiated the price of a car, furniture, and jewelry, but this is my first big ticket HVAC purchase. Thanks in advance.
  24. The Bengals will be coming off their mini-bye next week when they face the Packers.
