  1. It feels like San Fran got about 8 tries from inside the 5.
  2. Such a promising first half minus the last minute, which took about 15 minutes in real time … not great news for the early bird crowd.
  3. That's some good news! I guess Packer fans will get their wish to see if Stokes > King.
  4. Kevin King is out tonight with an illness: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/packers-cb-kevin-king-ruled-193830962.html
  5. Andy Reid leaves the stadium in an ambulance after the Chiefs’ game: https://www.nfl.com/news/chiefs-hc-andy-reid-leaves-arrowhead-stadium-via-ambulance-following-loss-to-cha
  6. I’m surprised fans were so excited about him. History tells us that only 1/3 of QBs taken in the first round become true franchise QBs. I like Jordan Love, but my expectations are sufficiently tempered.
  7. Seahawks @ Vikings this afternoon on FOX. It’s always nice tuning in and knowing one of these teams is guaranteed to lose! I once had the same level of contempt for the Cowboys, but I like Big Mac too much to put any team he coaches on the same level as the other two (I thought it was time for the Packers to move on from MM, but he’ll always have my respect).
  8. Learning new skills is important for career development / prospects, but a traditional 4-year undergraduate education is not the only way to learn new skills.
  9. I would be shocked if USC hired Fleck. Having lived in that area for a number of years, USC does not gravitate toward coaches who come across as being bigger than the program. It's about the school and the brand; there's a reason they've never put names on the back of the uniforms. True … and I know USC has a history of hiring head coaches with significant connections to the program, but Fleck was a betting line favorite before Saturday’s loss. My comment was more of a jab at PJ, who strikes me as an egocentric job hopper.
  10. Fewer men going to college in the US may lead to a ‘mating crisis’ because many college-educated women only want to date college-educated men. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nyu-professor-says-fewer-men-021341108.html School is oversold in this country. I went to college for 6 straight years and my brother is a carpenter with a high school diploma. I’m pretty sure we’re both in the same tax bracket and his college-educated wife didn’t seem to mind when he paid off all her student loans.
  11. I’ll go with Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Ohio State. I’d be shocked if I didn’t get 3 of 4 correct.
  12. Who decided that the poodle was the ultimate dog? There are so many mixed breeds that are half poodle. Do that many people have allergy issues? Is their temperament that much better than every other breed?
  13. Minnesota loses to Bowling Green. PJ probably spent too much time on the phone with USC this week.
  14. Funny story: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/utah-reporter-interviews-jordan-clarkson-about-jazz-and-doesnt-realize-it-222121388.html A TV reporter in Utah did a ‘man on the street’ segment about the upcoming NBA season. She unknowingly interviewed Jordan Clarkson, the reigning 6th man of the year. When asked if he attended any Jazz games last year he replied ‘Yeah, a lot.’
  15. Probably Romo, right?
  16. [sarcasm]They should just trade for Foles.[/sarcasm]
  17. You’ll never convince me Brett Hundley is terrible (not starter material? sure). He was a 5th round pick that was eventually traded for a 6th round pick. Teams don’t give up draft picks for terrible players unless they are run by Jon Gruden.
  18. Seems like poor roster management. What’s the point of carrying a #2 QB if you’re not going to trust him with a spot start? I’ve always liked Brett Hundley. He gets a bad wrap in Green Bay because of his 3-6 record as a starter, but the roster around him was bad. Rodgers went 6-9-1 with essentially the same team in 2018. Look at the 2015 NFL Draft (especially the QBs). He’s outplayed his draft slot.
  19. ESPN is still pedaling this narrative that the Packers’ offense started slowly tonight. They only had 3 possessions in the first half. That’s not the offense’s fault. They scored on 2 of the 3.
  20. At the very least, tonight’s game quells some of the fears from last week. I don’t know how good they are, but at least they aren’t THAT bad.
  21. Life is so much easier in the NFL when you’re getting turnovers instead of committing them.
  22. [sarcasm]I don’t want to take credit, but …[/sarcasm]
  23. I’ve got 8 in the work pool this week. 28 points at the end of the 3rd quarter would net me $5.
  24. The announcers just said ‘let’s give some credit to this Detroit defense’ … who allowed a TD on 66.7% of the Packers’ possessions.
