  1. We benefit there from the Giant's policy to not instruct blocking the plate.
  2. It is so refreshing to have a player who pounds the strike zone. I understand that he's in a groove right now and he will get hit hard occasionally, but at least he doesn't goof around and waste time out there. If he is 85% of what we've gotten thus far over the course of his contract, we got an absolute steal.
  3. From stories I've heard around town, Yo is among the many Brewers over the past few years who has really 'enjoyed' Milwaukee nights out often. I can't fault him for that, but this is dumb and dangerous. Judgmental alert: this just furthers the impression that Yo doesn't have the mentality to kick it to the next level and become an elite player. He seems to have stagnated and physically doesn't seem to have aged well. He is only 25, right???
  4. I'm surprised that Miller is back out there. I also don't recall a pitcher not named Collmenter making Braun look so confused.
  5. So you are right back where you started? Wow...been a long week...I did a 540???
  6. I know it is early, but I'm doing a 360 on the Lohse signing. If he can continue to be an efficient and pound the strike zone pitcher with a sub 4.00 ERA, I'm 100% behind it. I'm so tired of the nibbling ways of Yo and others that this feels so much more enjoyable to watch. Now, if we could just get someone other than Yuni in there, I'd actually get a little more behind this team. Yuni's throw to first and then terrible AB one a tiring pitcher is just so frustrating.
  7. I bet he can play 1st.
  8. Sorry to bump this, but any way to get the homepage to go straight to the forum?
  9. Wood was at 50 pitches after 2 and is at 85 after 5. That is just poor mentality.
  10. The tickets are already sold. You'll just be able to walk up and get a lower bowl seat for $5 on the street day of game. Just like every year when they are losing games. Right, but there are going to be a lot of season ticket holders 'eating' tickets. That first weekend in September when the crew is there should be easy to get to. Hopefully it matters for us...
  11. Braun should just turn around and cite his stats at Wrigley: .381 Average, .427 OBP, .587 SLG, 1.014 OPS. Also, Brewers are 21-6 in their last 27 vs the Cubbies.
  12. I'm sure I'm going to jinx things, but this is going to be a loooong season in Wrigleyville this year. They've conditioned the fans to expect it, so they'll still do alright from an attendance perspective, but those tickets are going to be tough to sell in September.
  13. I'm headed to the game. Hopefully it won't be another awful game. At this point, I'm a bit numb to it though.
  14. Word is that the wind is blowing out hard at Wrigley today. The way this season is going, a fan will throw a Brewers home run back into the field and hit Weeks in the cornea. McCalvy confirmed that Jean Jean is playing.
  15. Barf. What a brutal middle of the lineup. I'm not sure why you don't move GoGo up a bit.
  16. Wow Beltre has 346 HRs? Never would've thought it was that high. I'm going to miss Volstad on the Cubs.
  17. Pretty poor attempt at pitching around Braun there. Camon ARam.
  18. Hey, hey, hey... I loved Dave Bush and I really did think that he would be the first Brewer I would see to throw a no-hitter. When he was on, he was on. I liked Bush too. Plus, this game was one of my top 3 baseball game memories: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIL/MIL200810040.shtml
  19. Not too impressed with our pitching thus far this season. we knew it would be weak, but the starters have been inefficient as all get out.
  20. We absolutely stole one from the Rockies today. They couldn't buy a hit when they had RISP except for the hit that turned into the silly out by Nelson. That was a huge miscue. Yes, it was a valiant effort and comeback, but if we were on the other side of this, we'd be furious. I think this Rockies team is severely underrated. Chacin, De La Rosa and Nicasio is a solid 1-3 and they have some solid bats and great gloves. If we take 2 of 3 in this series, I'll be pleased. I'm not saying they are a playoff team, but I think they will end up around 78-84 wins. I'm excited to find out tomorrow how Estrada looks. There is a lot riding on whether or not he is a legit MLB starter. I'm so glad baseball is back.
