    Let's hope Sheets, CC, Manny, Braun and Hart stay 100% healthy. With a little luck, we may have a pennant. Kudos to the organization from the top on down.

    Impressive performance today by the starting pitchers. A combined 6.1 IP, 12 Runs (and counting for Duke), 4 HRs and 140 pitches.

    I still can't get over that double steal. Soup is almost to 80 pitches. Grrrrr. This was such a promising afternoon after the Hall single. Duke doesn't have his best stuff either so we need to take a few more pitches and keep working it.

    I do not want Bedard. He can't pitch past the fifth. I'd rather have CV in there for those abbreviated starts. I'd rather get a proven vet (ie Maddog) to add a bit of insurance in the case that someone gets hurt or McClung doesn't end up being the 2nd coming of Cal Eldred. I'm still bitter about that Richard Justice article back in May. He saw the team during that awful stretch in Houston/Florida. No doubt players were probably in a bad mood but that happens when you lose. These guys seem to genuinely get along (although what do I know).

    Everyone is over in the Rumors section. I'm not sure the month of July (and impending trade deadline) has ever garnered this much anticipation. Let's hope Melvin doesn't pull a Gary Payton for Ray Allen type deal or Doyle Alexander for 12 straight playoff appearances.

    I hope you're right about the competition for LaPorta. It would seem a little odd that the competition would shift to the Minor leagues, but maybe you're right. LaPorta would fill a huge void in SF and if they can get some additional bats out there, they'll have a legit squad. I would really like getting Cain, but I doubt that would happen. Phils will be scary in the playoffs if they get CC, but anything can happen in a playoff series. In the end, I bet we end up with Maddux/

    This game was over before the first pitch. We've had a handful of these stinkers this year. Can't wait to get home!

    We hardly even get hits after the 5th inning (this one included). Gosh, I'd love to see a Gagne/T-bow meltdown from the opposing side. Feels better when you earn it though.

    In Bush's defense (and I won't defend the lack of backing up home), those first three hits were dinks and dunks. That isn't any consolation, but its worth noting. DARN Gabe almost cleared the bags... I'll take the one run. Let's hope Weeks can get on base.
