  1. The Three investigators and Matt Christopher. Ahh the memories. Along with The Hardy Boys, these were my faves growing up.
  2. Why mess with his own personal growth path? He's too important to rush. While I agree about his importance to the organization, I disagree with the messing with his personal growth path. I would think with all prospects the Brewers would be monitoring them and continually changing the plan. Player A is struggling a little more than we anticipated so we slow down is advancement. Player B is showing remarkable growth so speed up his path. I could see Inman moved up to AA this tear and in camp with the Brewers next spring and then who knows for next year. I agree it won't happen this year, because that would be incredibly fast.
  3. I saw that too, and the only thing I'll say about it is that if my cell phone falls into a sewer, that thing is gone. A storm sewer, while gross, is not as gross as all that. When we were kids balls hit down the left field line would get in the road and eventually make it to the sewer. We would find the smallest guy and hold him by his feet and lower him down to get the ball back. It would be like rooting around in a pail of leaves, water, candt wrappers, etc. Note nice, but there shouldn't be any human waste involved.
  4. In Mucwonago there is a Wonago biking, easily changed if not intirely original.
  5. It would have been better if the initials spelt out something clever.
  6. My guess is to play his "country " solo material.
  7. Walmart has a grape flavored sparkling water. Few if any calories. Don't know if your wife has tried it.
  8. Where does the Lone Ranger take his garbage? To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump. To the.... And yes I enjoy the old black and white Lone Ranger.
  9. I used to think I followed the minors, but I have to say I had no idea how many games they have during the week that start at noon or earlier. What is with these 9:30 starts. I like them, they give me something to check on while at work, but I don't understand the scheduling.
  10. Sentry used to carry both Shasta and Jolly Good diet grape. But, I have not looked for them in 15 years to know whether or not they still have them.
  11. Thought I posted this But could not find it posted So I post again Will be at the game With my 3 year old girl Mo Get some Bobbleheads edit: first post is now up just like it should be Computers hate me
  12. Will be at the game With my 3 year old girl Mo Love them Bobbleheads
  13. I am torn. I think the Cooper coin looks kind of nice, but I agree it is pretty small. At first I thought it was just some plastic. The BP I got mine at had them sitting out on the counter. The envelope had a price of $2.99 on it, so I am unsure why you need the coupon.
  14. How about them adding a couple games from the Brewer minor league affiliates. I know I would watch.
  15. So vacin8r, I see either typos or misspelled words in your post and numerous punctuation problems. Do you suck, or does your typing and ability to write correctly suck? My point is talk about the problem as you see it, be blunt in your assesment, I don't care. But when someone says "he sucks" it makes it a personal attack which seems pretty pointless.
  16. But Dennis sucks?... hardly Thanks for saying it Brian. I think nearly everybody visiting this board would like to "suck" as much as Sarfate. I know I was never good enough to play minor league ball, not to mention get a spring training invite. As long as this is the vent thread: My vent would be the way people respond to players who are not playing up to expectations, and the name calling that goes on. One could certainly make references to Sarfate is having control issues, or maybe his velocity is not what we had hoped, etc. But to throw things out like he sucks always irritates me.
  17. Nashville needs pitchers also. Why run him out of town. He may never pitch again in the majors, or maybe he will break through. Who knows. But he has at least been a great minor league pitcher and will have a job in baseball for a number of years yet. More than most of us here at Brewerfan can say. If you can trade him great. Maybe he makes the club out of spring training, probably not, but so many of us are so quick to write him off like he has no value. I wish I had been fortunate enough to be in his position when I was 26 years old.
  18. Plus the proposed deal to get Lieber, as I understand it, unloads some salary.
  19. Thanks for all the work in the past. You have done a great job and the Power 50 is one of the things that has made this site special.
  20. ERA and Batting Average Against have big discrepancies, but his w/l percentage and homeruns per inning were actually better on the road. Further, his road era was 4.29. Not great, but certainly servicable.
  21. As long as the Yankees are dumping bad contracts and sending money this way ( the original premise - not that the Yankees have said they are doing it) why not get back one of their over priced pitchers. The deals involving Sheets or Capuano make the most sense to me from a New york perspective, why not have them include a guy like Pavano (what kind of injury did he have? Is it something he can come back from?) Could certainly offer Koskie as a stop gap to replace A-Rod. How about: Sheets or Cappy, Koskie and a mid-level pitching prospect for A-Rod, Pavano ( or other starter whose stock has fallen), a prospect or 2 and a boatload of cash to cover at least half the cost of the contracts. I mention Pavano because I know there was interest in him when he was free agent - I do not know his current status, but I don't trade Sheets or Cappy without a pitcher coming back who has proven in the bast that he can get the job done. A reclamation project maybe, but nobody who has been repacement level his whole career. As for the original thread - put me down for A-Rod and money for Hall.
  22. The first thing I noticed about the last Power 50 was that it seemed very top heavy with pitching. I like that. The first wave was mainly position players and lord knows we need pitching help. Hopefully help is on the way. The sooner the better.
  23. Why must every bunt be a straight sacrifice? If you don't want to give up an out why not bunt for a hit? Obviuosly, I did not see every at bat of every game, and I am sure there were others, but I can only remember Weeks bunting for a hit this year. I remember when Steve Trout was playing for the Cubs. He was one of the worst hitting pitchers ever. One spring training they worked with him on drag bunting, and he had a half dozen hits before the league figured it out. It Trout can drag bunt, I have to believe a more skilled batsman would be able to.
  24. I like JJ and think he is going to be around for a while, but I do have concerns about his range. Not based on fielding stats or observation, but stolen bases. While realizing that there is a difference between quickness and speed (and base stealing and fielding range for that matter), it does have me a bit concerned that our ss has no stolen bases this year. Some of this may be due to hitting in the 8 hole. If there are 2 outs you don't want to get thrown out and then lead off the next inning with the pitcher, and if there are less than 2 outs the pitchers probably trying to bunt. Still it seems like a ss should be quick enough to get a sb or 2, and if he isn't wouldn't that likely indicate below average range?
  25. I am wondering why in the world those players don't simply move to the US full-time. "Home" is a crime ridden dump...time to move on. I assume that the players are on work visas when they come to the United States. I wonder how hard it would be for them to actually move to the US. I don't know the laws on immigration, but I assume since there are so many illegal immigrants in the country that getting full time residence in the US is difficult.
