  1. +1 on that. I never understood why we kept him in the pen. I'm sure we'll start him anyway if we have to. He won't be able to go deep though.
  2. Sure looks like Estrada is coming into this game. I just hope Marcum isn't injured badly.
  3. No one any of us wants to see start in the MLB. I'd take Peralta over anyone in AAA. DiFelice is getting stretched out currently though, and he's been good.
  4. Yeah, they have to pull him now. He's laboring way too much. The last thing we need is for him to get hurt. But whew, got out of it. That was a scary inning.
  5. The amount of balls fouled off this inning has been ridiculous. They have so many great hitters in their lineup who can work counts.
  6. It doesn't help when the corners aren't considered part of the strike zone. He should be out of this inning.Yeah, I would agree with that. But he's having control issues nonetheless.
  7. With Marcum seemingly having some control issues, we better hope our offense and bullpen step up tonight.
  8. Ugh. Can't believe he got a hit on that. And now he's out of the game.
  9. Crap. After that huge battle he gives up the run. Not good. His pitch count this inning is already ridiculously high.
  10. If this trade goes down I may be officially done with the Bucks. I can understand rebuilding by trading Bogut, but not in this kind of deal. Williams and Kanter are both far from sure things, and if one of them is the best thing they're getting in the deal, then I hate the deal. I may be slightly biased, because I'm a big Bogut fan, but I want whats best for the Bucks. I don't think this is a good deal for them.
  11. Yeah, I think this will be a good movie, with good acting. I'm definitely looking forward to it. Loved the book.
  12. Looks like it won't rain at all until about 9:00, so I doubt that'll happen. Would be fitting though wouldn't it?
  13. Weeks 4 Morgan 8 Braun 7 Fielder DH McGehee 5 Hart 9 Kotsay 3 Lucroy 2 Counsell 6 Here's the lineup with Marcum pitching. I don't mind it. Especially like that Counsell is playing.
  14. Great point. Like I said earlier in this thread, Gallardo had a very bad stretch of starts earlier in the year. What happened? People freaked out, and were talking about fake DL'ing him and all that. What did he do? He turned it around, and is now having a great year, just like all great pitchers do. Bad stretches happen. Greinke will turn it around just like Gallardo did, and just like every good starting pitcher does.
  15. If we wanna go over specific things about him that have pissed me off, we'll start a list.... Continuously batting Gomez in the 2 spot after he proved he couldn't handle it, playing Kotsay in CF, not going to a platoon with Morgan/ Gomez almost immediately, playing Betancourt almost everyday even though he doesn't even deserve a roster spot, wanting to keep Nieves on the roster even though he can't hit better than any of our pitchers, refusing to move McGehee from the 5 hole during his very long slump, sticking Lucroy in the 8 hole pretty much the whole year even during his hot streak, making Loe the designated 8th inning guy after Saito got hurt instead of basing it on matchups and performance, not using Braddock in key spots against lefties, not using Axford in the highest leverage situations late in games or ever for more than one inning, letting relievers not pitch for a week or more at a time and get cold in favor of pitching Loe way too many days in a row, not having a quick enough hook or pitchers ready in the pen when Narveson's meltdowns start, starting Kotsay way more than he should, thinking Kotsay is a good player, not playing Counsell and Wilson, or Boggs while he was here, at all so they are completely rusty off the bench even though there is a terrible player they could play for, and I'll just stop there before it gets out of hand. Add on if you wish.
  16. Roenicke has not been good at all this season. He's lost us quite a few games, and I can't say his decisions have won us any game besides maybe one or two. The talent on our team has won us pretty much all of our games. His bullpen management is absolutely horrible, his lineup decisions for the most part have been horrible, his input on roster decisions is horrible, his assessment of talent on and off the roster has been horrible, his sense of holding players accountable for anything has been non-existent, his aggressive style has seemed to do more harm than good in key situations, and there's probably many more but I won't go on. The only good thing is his relationship with the players, and I guess his aggressive style has helped a time or two. Really, he has done a lot more wrong than he has done right. However, the relationship with his players is very important as has been evidenced with previous managers. I can't say he's a complete failure yet, and I still think it's too early to judge him completely. The thing is that most managers have similar problems. So I'll give him a C.
  17. Lincecum: 1Halladay: 2 (though he's been in the mid-4's 3 times) Sabathia: 3 (including 2008, his age 27 year, just like Greinke's this year... remember that year?) Verlander: 1 Greinke: 2 Thanks, I think that should put it into perspective for most people. Tough stretches happen. We'll all get over it when he turns it around.
  18. Seriously? We still have to hear the "he's still in early season form line?" How long do we keep using that as an excuse for his horrible pitching (K/BB doesn't tell everything, statheads. He's getting rocked). 9 starts in? Look at Marcum's numbers in his first nine starts. Why must people feel they have to keep making excuses for a guy who cost us a heck of a lot to get. At this point, I wish we still had Odorizzi. Greinke hasn't fooled anyone. Early in the year I compared Greinke to Matt Garza. High K total, high ERA guy. Maybe the Royals just fleeced us on the trade. The majority of those 9 starts would come in spring training, so comparing him to Marcum isn't really accurate. And coming off a lot of down time doesn't help either. I don't see how it doesn't come into the equation. I don't know how a pitcher that missed all of spring training and an entire month of the season is expected to come out in be in perfect form within his first 50 innings. Yes, he could be doing better, but this isn't enough to write him off on either. Way too early to judge this trade, or what kind of pitcher he will be. People just need to give him a chance. Keep in mind the horrible stretch Gallardo had earlier this year (First 9 starts, 4.88 ERA 4-2 record, Since then 2.13 ERA 4-1 record). A lot of people freaked out in the same way about that, wanting him to be fake DL'd or demoted, and he turned it around and is back in form. Can't judge a good pitcher off this kind of stretch. Greinke is a very good pitcher, and he'll prove it as the season goes on.
  19. I really don't understand why some people are so worried about Greinke. He's basically still in early season form. He's 9 starts in, basically having missed all of spring training and the whole first month of the season. For him it's basically like he's in April form right now. He'll be just fine. Like some of you said, it's just that a lot of balls are getting hit hard for some reason even though he has just been baffling some hitters with tons of strikeouts and very few walks. I think that things will turn around for him pretty quickly. 50 innings or so is a very small sample for a pitcher. He's still yet to get into true form, and yet he has actually pitched pretty well for the most part. He's had some rough games, but his K:BB ratio is very encouraging. We all know he has the stuff. I think he'll be huge for us down the stretch. Can't complain much about a 6-2 pitcher either.
  20. Maysonet isn't any better than Wilson or Counsell, so no. I say trade for Jack Wilson right now, release Betancourt, and move on. If someone better comes along closer to the deadline, then make the move, and at least we'll still have Jack Wilson and Counsell as our backup infielders.
  21. I'll be a little more optimistic and go 8-7. Time to step it up. Just looked at the pitchers for the Rays series. Hellickson, Price, and Davis. That is a pretty bad draw for us. But we do matchup with Narveson, Greinke, Marcum, so not horrible. We seem like the kind of team this year that will just randomly go have a crappy series against crap teams like Washington and Chicago, but then have great series against teams like Philadelphia, St. Louis, and to a lesser extent Florida. I think we will exceed expectations a little in interleague play. Although, if we stick with trends we'll probably win 6 against Boston, Tampa, and New York, and 2 against Minnesota.
  22. Well, pathetic series. Should've at least split, and probably won 2 out of 3. Gotta move on and try to play well in Boston though.
  23. Nice to see some good hitting here, even though we're still down 5. Need some momentum going into Boston.
  24. Haha, Gomez doing the bat flip on a ball that wasn't even close to a homer. At least it dropped in for a double so he didn't look like a total moron.
