  1. SWEEP!!! http://i49.tinypic.com/29kq2vk.gif
  2. Tom ‏@Haudricourt 1m #Brewers announce they have recalled RHP Hiram Burgos from Class AAA Nashville. He will start Saturday against the Cubs.
  3. if fiers is sent down today, his 10th day in the minors would be 28 april. If 2 minor league starts are enough to get him right, then yes, he'd be an option as well.
  4. Not necessarily. They could just send Burgos/Thornburg/whoever down after the game and bring up a more traditional RP like Olmsted or Hand. I doubt it since they couldn't then call them back up for the next start, because they'd have to be down 10 days which would be until May 1st. I suppose they could use Burgos for the first start and Thornburg for the next, or vice versa.
  5. Roenicke also basically confirmed that they won't use the 5th starter again until the 30th after Saturday, so that may factor in. Whoever it is will need to be in the pen for a bit.
  6. Adam McCalvy ‏@AdamMcCalvy 2m #Brewers will make a player move tomorrow or early Sat. to get a starter for middle game vs. Cubs. Thornburg, Burgos possibilities.
  7. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/203491041.html Here's some more info on it. Seems low risk to me. Has 30 days to make an impact in the minors. Will likely only get called up if there's a need in that time frame. Heyman tweeted that he'll get $2M+ if he is on the major league team.
  8. http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/2013/04/17/brewers-close-to-re-signing-k-rod/ Thought I'd open up this can of worms. It's a minor league deal, so I don't mind it. Really no risk involved. He could end up contributing.

  11. 15 Beers over 4 hours may be a lot but mix in a shot an hour. Extend the drinking time and you have to drink less per hour. Change it to mix drinks. It is very easy to hit a 0.22 BAC. I guarantee you I have been over 0.22 BAC several times in my lifetime. Is it so out of the question he spent the afternoon drinking then went out? Driving on the other hand, stupid stupid stupid. I agree. I was just using an example. Could be the case that he was drinking over a longer period of time. I agree that most people have been over that several times. I'm sure I've been over that too. Driving is definitely the issue here. No one knows the rest of the details, so we can't really judge him on how much he drank or what not. I think a lot of people would be surprised at how often they've been at or above a .22 BAC. Drinking throughout a whole day can get it up there for sure.
  12. I don't understand booking Champions to lose non-title matches. It's been happening a lot lately. What it does is make it seem less important or memorable when someone beats them for the title. When Kofi won the title last night, it didn't seem like it mattered at all, because all Cesaro has been doing lately is jobbing. Not that the US Title has meant much anyway, but it would if they booked things better. Same goes for the IC and WHC. Booking Ziggler to lose a non-title match is just stupid. Swagger didn't need to pin Ziggler either.
  13. Using BAC calculators on the internet, it would take 15 beers over 4 hours to get a .22 BAC based on Gallardo's weight. Just food for thought. Not saying he does or doesn't have a problem with drinking or anything. But obviously that's a lot. Nothing that most young people haven't done before, or done often though. I'm sure most have. It's the driving part that is the part to be upset about with him about.
  14. Aoki 9 Segura 6 Braun 7 Weeks 4 Lucroy 2 Gonzalez 5 Gomez 8 Betancourt 3 Peralta 1
  15. The other funny thing is that 2 of them are wearing Packer gear.
  16. Haha, that was great. Good job Tony.
  17. That probably depends on how big of a hole they dig themselves before some guys come back from injury. Not looking good with the way they are playing.
  18. Nope. Not with Wainwright dealing today. I don't have confidence that they can even score 1 run at this point.
  19. Joe Block ‏@joe_block 1h Today, #StlCards will wear "St. Louis" across chest for first time since 1932 @SportsLogosNet #Brewers Found this interesting. Didn't know they had any new uniforms. So used to that same Cardinals lettering on both their home and away uniforms.
  20. I don't really see one as any better than the other at the plate, so if they were hitting 7 and 8 in some order I'd be fine with that. Although it's not like Gomez is swinging a hot bat right now either.
  21. Looks like this is gonna happen...all we can hope is that he can actually contribute. Whether that can happen or not remains to be seen. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Can't wait to watch Brewerfan explode when the signing become official though. That's a guarantee.
  22. I don't see the point of carrying 3 catchers and not playing Maldonado or Lalli at 1B. Especially when the alternative is Yuni Betancourt and his average defense at 1B and lack of much ability at the plate. I know Maldonado and Lalli wouldn't be perfect either, but both seem like better options to me, especially against RHP. At least Yuni is batting 8th and not higher in the order.
