  1. Check him out on twitter @FrontRowAndy. He originally did it as a joke, but apparently Front Row Amy enjoys it. I'm glad he's back this season. His impersonation (beyond the costume) is really good. Yeah, it's pretty funny. Spot on for the most part.

  3. Sticking with a 4 man bench can start to limit flexibility after awhile though. More so defensively. Say Schafer is burned as a PH, then the only backup OF is Davis who isn't great defensively. Maldonado can't really be used as a PH either early because he's the backup catcher, so really they are pinned to 3 options for most pinch-hitting situations. If Yuni is burned as pinch-hitter, he's also the only backup IF. It would be nice to have an extra guy on the bench just for some protection so RRR isn't afraid to use guys to pinch-hit when he needs them.
  4. the brewers have many bullpen options that can give them more than one inning a game: chris narveson, alfredo figaro, tom gorzelanny, brandon kintzler and john axford from time to time. Ok, if they are using that logic, then why did they keep 13 to begin with? They obviously aren't looking at it that way. They think they need the 13th pitcher. The specific reasoning was because Lohse is still stretching out.
  5. I doubt they were planning to go back to a 12-man staff by this weekend. More likely by, or after, next weekend after Lohse has made a few starts.
  6. FWIW, Luc blamed himself after the game for calling the 1st pitch FB instead of a CB. Granted, Ax could've shaken him off, but still. Obviously wasn't the best idea, but it is what it is. Ax pitched well overall. His CB was really on. The people that booed him really pissed me off.
  7. Profar isn't going anywhere. Kinsler will move to 1B or LF. Profar will start at 2B, which isn't ideal but at least he'll be playing. Then Olt will start at 1B. Either that or Olt will DH until Beltre can't field anymore and Kinsler will play 1B. Personally, I would've traded Andrus for a big return, put Profar at SS, and been done with it. Seems like wasted money and wasted value of Profar to me. It's not like Profar isn't also a great defensive SS or something, in which case it would've made more sense to play him at 2B and keep Andrus.
  8. Nope, Davis apparently can't play 1B according to Roenicke. Failed at it during instructionals.
  9. They've been saying it would be Friday or Saturday, so that would make sense. I'd guess that's what they'll go with.
  10. 13 pitchers won't last long. Green will probably take the place of one of the pitchers whenever he returns. Then I'd guess Green or Davis go down when Hart returns. Betancourt isn't going anywhere, as much as some of us may want him too. Not sure what they'll do with Bianchi when he has to come off the DL.
  11. Adam McCalvy ‏@AdamMcCalvy 3m Alfredo Figaro makes the cut over Donovan Hand. #Brewers roster set. Figaro gets the final spot.
  12. I looked and Figaro used 2 options while with the Tigers before being released. I'm not sure if his 1 remaining option carries over, or how that works. I think he can be outrighted to the minors once too without the right to refusal, so that would be an option if he doesn't have options. Fwiw, they're option seasons, not one-&-done options. If he has an option season remaining, he can be sent up & down more than just once. I know that. That's what I was referring to when I said they used 2 option. I meant 2 seasons worth, not that he was optioned twice during one season. The reference to outrighting was in case he is in fact out of options, which I don't think he is based on what I found. This won't even come into play though until he is added to the 40-man.
  13. It's actually to keep Figaro or Hand, not Lalli. Davis has been pretty much confirmed for the roster over Lalli. But still, those two guys don't bring much more than Stinson would, so I agree. He pitched just as well as those 2 in ST, so not sure why he wasn't also in the conversation.
  14. Sounds like a good plan to me.

  16. Yeah, I think Green probably takes the spot of a pitcher. They'll need another LHH on the bench if Lalli doesn't make the team.
