  1. Weeks 4 Counsell 5 Braun 7 Fielder 3 Kotsay 9 Betancourt 6 Lucroy 2 Gomez 8 Estrada 1 Love that Gomez is in the 8 hole. Makes me happy. But Kotsay, Betancourt 5 and 6? Ugh. Should've just activated Hart.
  2. Evolution was probably my favorite. You had the legend Ric Flair, the current dominating force HHH, and the young stars Batista and Orton. Tons of talent, and they were fun to watch. I was a fan of the DX with HHH as the leader also. Nexus could've been great if they booked them right, and of course they didn't. No surprise. The last good stable in WWE was Evolution. I wish they'd start a stable similar to that. They really could've gotten it done if they had HHH reveal himself as the leader of the original Nexus. Punk wasn't a bad idea, but it was booked horribly. I think Jericho could come back and lead a stable as well.
  3. I have many pet peeves in baseball, this being one of them. The other is people sitting where there is no way they can tell if a pitch is a ball or strike and still complain about it. Also, when people cheer every routine fly out like it's a home run when it's hit.
  4. Yeah, that's definitely true. Probably won't know until tomorrow how bad it truly is. Hopefully it's just a sprain, and he'll be back in there by Friday.
  5. This is old news, but yeah it was pretty cool.
  6. http://brewersbeat.mlblog...ained-thumb-for-mcgehee/ McGehee sprained his thumb on the final play. I'd guess he'll just miss a game or two, but we'll see. Hart is coming up tomorrow, but may not be activated. I'd guess he will now that McGehee is hurt, which would put them another bat short on the bench.
  7. He was put on retroactive to April 18, so I believe that would make it May 3.
  8. Truly, we don't need another backup outfielder. The only time we'd ever need it is if 2 of our infielders got hurt in the same game. After that we could just call up an infielder. If say Weeks and Betancourt were both hurt during a game, we could simply move McGehee to 2nd, put Counsell at SS, and Braun could come in to play 3B. It would only be for a few innings most likely anyway, and the next day we'd just call someone up.
  9. The Reds really aren't playing good baseball right now. I like our chances this series. I hope we tear up Arroyo tonight. I also hope Narveson keeps pitching well, because it has been a pleasant surprise so far.
  10. I thin Kintzler will go when Hart comes back, because we always seem to avoid decisions until the latest possible time. That decision being between Boggs and Almonte, but more likely to DFA Almonte. I think we'll DFA Almonte when Morgan comes back. Unless we can somehow trade for a right-handed hitting backup infielder, I think Boggs is safe.
  11. Who else would get the spot then? Almonte is useless, and Kotsay won't even have to play the outfield anymore. There's no infielder to take the spot.
  12. If Boggs and Almonte are both gone, then who takes the last bench spot? We have to keep one, and it will be Boggs.Well they would have to go down to a 12 man staff to keep Boggs. Not sure if that happens or not. Someone smarter than I can comment. The bench will be: Counsell, Kotsay, Morgan, Nieves unless they cut it down to a 12 man staff. Why wouldn't they go back to a 12 man staff? They had one all year until Friday. We don't need an 8-man bullpen. The only reason we carried an extra pitcher is because Mitre was day-to-day, and we knew that Hart would be back in a few days anyway. Plus, we need a right-handed hitter on the bench other than our backup catcher.
  13. If Boggs and Almonte are both gone, then who takes the last bench spot? We have to keep one, and it will be Boggs. When both Morgan & Hart return, who are the 2 players that will leave to make room for them?Kintzler and Almonte. We currently have a 13 man pitching staff, which we don't need.
  14. If Boggs and Almonte are both gone, then who takes the last bench spot? We have to keep one, and it will be Boggs.
  15. A pitcher will go down. We're playing short on the bench. We won't know anything until Morgan is activated in a week.
  16. Tulo is definitely a more valuable player, because of the position he lays, and how well he plays it. There's really no arguing that. Braun is a great player too though, there's no doubt about that.
  17. Yeah, I think he has. And that's good, because he'll be more valuable as our right-handed pinch-hitter, and as a defensive replacement if needed. Morgan will get starts in CF and RF, and Kotsay will likely be our top pinch-hitter. I hate that Kotsay will get AB's over likely everyone late in games off the bench, but it is what it is. I just hope Kotsay doesn't get starts over Morgan.
  18. Fielder can definitely be a streaky hitter. Even when it comes to full seasons. Braun has been pretty consistent. Fielder is definitely more patient, but Braun is getting better. I think Braun if definitely a for sure .300 hitter, and Fielder has the potential but probably won't hit .300 a lot in his career. Fielder has more power, and will probably hit more home runs for the most part. Both hitters use all fields, which is good, but as was said before Fielder definitely does tend to pull a lot of balls in certain stretches. I think they both have their strengths and weaknesses at the plate. I think Braun will develop into a better hitter for sure, but Fielder may have a slight edge now. In previous years, Fielder was better. In future years, Braun will be better. Right now, I'd say Fielder is a slightly better hitter, but it's definitely close.
  19. Where he hits in the lineup has nothing to do with how he'll be pitched. Teams know the kind of hitter he his. They'll take the same approach against him no matter what. He still has the same value lower in the lineup. Plus, when he's lower in the lineup he'll be more free to run, and not have to worry about getting thrown out with Braun and Fielder at the plate. Hart did very well in the 2 hole last year, and I'd rather keep him there. He gets on base a lot more than Gomez, which makes him a better option there. Lower in the lineup, we won't notice Gomez's slumps as much. He's just overall not a good enough hitter to be in the 2 hole. Who he hits in front of in the lineup really makes no difference. People say no one sees good pitches in the 8 hole, and Lucroy has hit well there. McGehee has no "protection" and he still puts up good numbers. Weeks has Gomez behind him and still hits well. It really makes no difference. Braun will still be Braun without Fielder behind him next year. I don't see why people say Gomez has more value in the 2 hole. He's the same player no matter where he hits.
  20. Well said. Completely agree. Not much more needs to be said in this argument than that.
  21. Kotsay is what he is as the 5th OF/PH. It's just nice to have a guy in that role that can hit for some power. Kotsay has no power at all, and Boggs does. They will both likely be on the roster, which is fine. But we all know Kotsay will get AB's over Boggs, which in some situations is stupid. If we ever have a situation where we need some pop, Kotsay should never get the AB. It would be nice to have another backup IF to replace Kotsay on the roster, so we could keep Morgan and Boggs as the only backup OFs. We don't have that though, and probably won't. So, we'll have to deal with Kotsay. Hopefully he does excel in his role, because we do need it.
  22. I'm not really concerned about attendance. It's early in the year, and today was Easter. That was the only reason for a small crowd today. Every other bobblehead game will either sell out, or come very close. Once summer starts, the weekday games will also get better attendance. Right now, the weather is bad, so less people want to tailgate or go out to the game. I think we'll still hit 3 million this year.
  23. Yeah I agree. Boggs is really the prototypical backup outfielder. Kotsay really isn't. And now that he'll fall into more of a strict pinch-hitting role, I think he will do a lot worse. I really don't see him getting any starts once Hart is back. If Hart needs a day off Morgan or Boggs would get the nod because of better fielding. That is why I still don't get why Boggs wasn't kept over Reed and Almonte. I really would've liked to have seen Boggs in RF vs LHP for the month that Hart was out. It's too bad that he didn't get that chance. Kotsay really isn't good at anything, and I think his numbers will plummet when he moves to a strict bench role. We need to keep the guys that can succeed in that role, and I doubt Kotsay can.
  24. Well, Stetter will probably be in the minors anyway. I put Braddock/Stetter, because I don't know for sure who will be demoted when Parra returns.
  25. Totally agree with you. Kotsay really doesn't bring anything to the table. He doesn't have any power, and can't field. With the role Kotsay will be playing once Hart comes back, we could use some power and definitely good fielding. He has neither, and Boggs has both. That means Boggs is the better option for that role. And as for Boggs staying when Morgan comes back, I think he will stay. He doesn't have any options left, and Almonte has done nothing to secure his spot. For that reason, I think Almonte will be on his way out.
