  1. No and no. Not saying that Cain made that trade in any way, I just think that Melvin would've just decided to keep Escobar and Jeffress if he had Beachy and Marcum already. I'd rather have Greinke than Beachy, so no I wouldn't do the Cain for Beachy trade.
  2. Well, he might be in RF.
  3. Yeah, it didn't really have a big moment. I really think the Undertaker was legitimately in a bad, bad way after his match. They set off the fireworks and everything to set up his typical celebration, and he couldn't even stand. They showed a close up of his eyes, and they looked bad. He is definitely on his last end here. That match took everything he had left. He was definitely winded and struggling even a few minutes in. Triple H still seemed fine coming out of it.
  4. Weeks might hit 30 solo shots this year, lol. And Gomez continues to be Gomez.
  5. Apparently not. Might as well make it black and white too then. If the picture is gonna be this bad, why not go all out?
  6. You could be right, but Vince is the reason the company even survived. He does lose sense for what people want nowadays, but what he's done in the past has been good. HHH will probably do a better job making the company more about wrestling when he takes over. Time will tell I guess.
  7. WMLW sucks and doesn't deserve to broadcast Brewers games with how crappy the picture quality is. It's hard to watch, and ruins the enjoyment of the game. For home games that are on WMLW I seriously try to go to the game instead of watching on TV.
  8. And that'll do it for Marcum. Struggled at the beginning, then shook the rust off a little. Not great, not horrible. Ump was squeezing him all night though.
  9. Well, he's been hurt. He said he wasn't feeling pain though, but he might be again. I thinks it's mostly rust though.
  10. WMLW feed sucks as usual. Idk why they continue to broadcast games on this crappy channel.
  11. Yeah I do at this point. Not saying I agree with it though. It just seems to me like they value defense more than offense for the backup catcher position. The backup is only gonna start 30 games or so anyway.
  12. Kottaras had a .701 OPS last year. In contrast, Nieves had a .554 OPS last year!!! They are at vastly different levels as hitters. Nieves has a career OPS in MLB of .574 ... that is brutalNot saying Nieves isn't a bad hitter. Just saying that Kottaras isn't exactly great either. No matter who we keep, they aren't gonna play much anyway. It just seems to me that Roenicke likes Nieves more because of his defense. I don't see why we would've even signed him if we liked Kottaras.
  13. I realize Almonte's starting because of the lefty, and I really don't have much of a problem with it until Hart is back. I was just noting the interesting roster decision where the Brewers apparently have 6 outfielders and only 1 back-up infielder. Plus, it seems a little embarrassing that the Brewers are trotting out a DH and a 33 yr.old AAAA guy to play RF until Hart returns. At least Morgan and Reed can play defense. I agree that Kotsay shouldn't start over Morgan, but I don't have a problem with Almonte against the lefty. None of those guys have good splits against lefties.
  14. Nieves was Gallardo's personal catcher in ST, and tonight we face a lefty. That's the only reason Nieves has started both games. And really Kottaras isn't that good anyway. Sure he had a good ST, but that means nothing. We thought he was gonna be a good hitter last year, and he barely hit .200.
  15. To follow up on what you said about it not being the same anymore though, I would agree. However, there is no way they will ever match up to the attitude era. The guys they have now need to create there own product. There will never be another Stone, another Rock, another HBK, etc. That's just the way it is. For me, it is interesting to watch the new talent come in and pave there own way. The Miz is really developing in a good heel. He is still on his way, but he can hold his own on the mic and his ring work has improved a lot. He's got a ton of heat, and that is good. The whole Cena thing is definitely played out, but Cena sells so that's the way it is. It would be bad business to stop pushing Cena. He doesn't have to be in the title picture, but he has to be over as a face. Guys like Barrett, Morrison, Del Rio, and Ziggler make me believe that the WWE will be ok. These guys have a lot of potential to bring this promotion into a new era. But, they have to be booked the right way, and time will tell if that will happen or not.
  16. What you don't understand is that the whole point of Vince bringing back the ECW brand was so he could bury it. It was just like he wanted to do with WCW. He wanted to take it over, and then bury it, and he did. He made WCW look bad in the whole invasion storyline by just putting his top WWE guys in the alliance, and then buried the alliance. Then he brought back ECW just so he could make it the worst brand, and eventually bury it. That's how Vince runs his business, he wants to be the best. There was no way in heck he was gonna allow the ECW brand to be successful, even if it was still under control of WWE. I agree, it's bad business, but that's how Vince thinks. I knew ECW wouldn't last in WWE, and it sure as heck wouldn't be booked like the original ECW. Vince has one way of booking, and that's his way. There was an original plan to have WCW be a separate brand also when he bought it, but he didn't like the way that they booked matches and did things, so he took the WCW guys and changed him in his way to the way he likes. That might seem bad, but really if you listen to what guys say that used to be in WCW, it was horribly run, and no one knew what they were doing. The way WWE does things is the right way. I recently read Jericho's new book, and he really brought this to light. You gotta hand it to Vince though. He set out to bury his opposition, and he did just that. TNA will eventually fail also, because that's just the way it is. No promotion will ever draw close to the way WWE does. WCW did at one time, but the company was run into the ground due to bad management. Vince's product will always be the best.
  17. If he felt the injury was so bad, he should of just shut himself down like he said. Why is he blaming the Reds doctors? He knew it was a problem when he went there. Only he himself can know for sure whether or not he should play. If he was smart he would've just retired when he got that injury and been done with it. And now he's blaming the Reds doctors for something he could've prevented himself. Doesn't make sense to me. Why play if you know you can't?
