  1. Yes, that alone would add 3-4 wins.... I think people are also forgetting that Parra is still on the roster to be at least a soft platoon partner for Davis. That will make the LF spot a lot more productive. They won't be paying Parra $4-5M to not play a big role. He'll get his at-bats against RHP.
  2. I have a 20-pack in Section 329. I got Section 316 for the playoffs this year. Very pleased with that. Got Loge OF last time.
  3. That's usually been the case with Melvin. Not his MO to let things leak.
  4. The Pirates can take him. Better than the Cardinals or Dodgers getting him. Just glad the Brewers are out. No interest in giving up Nelson for a half season of Lester.
  5. Yeah, not sure I'd deal Gennett. I think it hurts the lineup too much for the rest of the season. Maybe if there was a legit 1B on the team, or if Zobrist could be had in the deal, but otherwise no. Can't take that kind of hit to the offense. I can see why Melvin wouldn't wanna do that.
  6. I'd do that trade in a second. Price would be a huge difference maker. Maybe the Brewers make the playoffs without him, but I don't think they would be true World Series contenders. Need to matchup with the likes of Kershaw, Greinke, Bumgarner, etc.
  7. Agreed, the price on relievers is ridiculously high. Getting a bat would be far more worth it.
  8. Last year Ramirez didn't start a single game last year in anywhere but the cleanup spot, and Lucroy never hit lower that 6th. Even that was only 6 games, and the rest he hit 3rd, 4th, or 5th.
  9. Pretty sure they aren't going to just DFA Estrada. They'll probably send down Wooten or Kintzler, and try to trade Estrada.
  10. Especially when Wainwright is starting for the Cardinals.
  11. I'd probably trade Estrada in some type of deal for Ramirez. Stick Ramirez in the bullpen, or AAA, and call-up Nelson. I agree, that the Brewers probably just want to get rid of Estrada if they pull him from the rotation.
  12. Yeah, the Dodgers are the only team I see pulling off a deal. With maybe an outside shot of the Cardinals, but I don't see them giving up guys like Taveras to get it done.
  13. I wouldn't discount the Padres taking Estrada in a trade if that was an option. They took Ian Kennedy last year, and are now likely to flip him this year. Estrada is someone who is similar to Kennedy, and could benefit from pitching in San Diego.
  14. I'd definitely try to get Koji Uehara from the Red Sox. His price tag won't be quite as high since he's a free agent after the season. I also think Huston Street would be a more realistic possibility from the Padres. I really wouldn't wanna commit to that contract Benoit has.
  15. I'll go with 15-10. Gonna stay hot going into the break. NL wins the All-Star Game to secure home field advantage for the Crew in the World Series.
  16. Exactly. That is why I brought up Cuddyer and LaRoche. There isn't going to be any fix out there beyond this year. Need to go for it. Money isn't an issue.
  17. Sounds unlikely. I wouldn't mind giving Jeffress a shot. http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/brewers-look-closely-at-tom-gorzelannys-rehab-start-b99285835z1-262203351.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  18. I want Michael Cuddyer at the deadline, or Adam LaRoche if the Nats are out of it. Cuddyer would be nice, because he could take some starts in LF or at 3B as well.
  19. Not exactly. They could be shooting much higher than Morales like I said in the trade rumors thread. Like who? It's not like Chris Davis or Joey Votto is going to be available. Michael Cuddyer or Adam LaRoche would be nice pickups. Although Cuddyer is obviously far more likely to be available than LaRoche. At least they can both play defense as well, unlike Morales.
  20. A Morales signing after the draft seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. Boras will talk Attanasio into it, and it'll be hard to say no given how horrible Overbay has been. Reynolds can still play 1B vs. LHP and backup 3B.
  21. A Wang fake DL stint will occur at some point.
  22. I'm surprised Weeks isn't willing to play LF, simply to get more at-bats. He'll need to actually get at-bats to increase his value for next season. At this point, I also think it would benefit the team to have both Weeks and Scooter in the lineup instead of the likes of Davis, Schafer, and Gindl. None of whom are hitting, or getting on base consistently, right now. I think Weeks could learn LF relatively quickly, given the fact that he played OF in college. Becoming passable in LF shouldn't be too hard for him.
  23. Saw this a few days ago. Incredible. Tear jerker.
  24. Trade for Melky Cabrera at the deadline to play LF. Go for the 2/3 PED OF. In all seriousness, I think Kendrys Morales will be a Brewer after the draft. I think an extra OF will be the trade deadline target.
