  1. Well this is a very ugly start. We can forget about trading Bush now. Lol.
  2. People do need to take into account how much Fielder will cost for 2011, not just beyond that. His salary could be very high next season. Probably somewhere around $16 million, and with Boras as his agent, possibly even higher than that. I think that might turn off a team like the White Sox more than anything.
  3. Yep, and Gomez tomorrow against the lefty, and Thursday Cain will be sent down for Gallardo.
  4. Based on his comments about having to give up starting pitching for Fielder and not Dunn, I'm guessing the offer for Dunn won't involve Hudson.
  5. The problem with this scenario is that a lot of casual fans would be pissed when we sell off the team after the World Series run. Will Attanasio want that to happen? I doubt it. Although you could also look at the fact that ticket sales would be insanely high for next year just with advanced sales alone. So there's a million ways to look at it. I just don't see our front office going in this direction.
  6. I think this is what it would take, and even then I don't know if we could make the World Series. It's too big of a risk to mortgage the future. I don't see Doug and Mark taking that kind of risk at this point. We'd have a better chance trying to build a young team that would be able to compete for a few years at a time rather than a one-and-done team like that.
  7. I would love any deal involving Hudson and Viciedo. If we have to throw in Bush or some other starter that's fine. I don't think we'd find a better package than that anywhere else.
  8. This is a deal that I would really like. Except I would want the Sox to throw in a few prospects as well.
  9. http://sportsillustrated..../index.html?eref=writers Interesting stuff from Heyman. Fielder #1 player available at deadline, also thinks we'll keep him for 2011, which won't happen.
  10. http://sportsillustrated..../index.html?eref=writers Interesting stuff from Heyman. Hart is #4 ranked in available players at deadline.
  11. Yeah I'd take that deal. Kawakami would have close to the same production as Bush for the rest of the season, and with Bush pitching so well we could definitely get something decent for him.
  12. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/98762219.html Looks like the Giants and the White Sox are potential suitors before the deadline. Rays are definitely not a suitor.
  13. Problem is that his agent and Melvin don't get along. Don't think that'll work out.
  14. I was gonna say man is McGehee slow for not beating that out, but then I saw him limping. Not good.
  15. But Gomez needs to see major league pitching so he can continue to develop! So does Cain! Lol.
  16. Ok time to send Gomez down and give Cain a shot. He's smoked the ball in all 3 of his AB's since coming up.
  17. You're absolutely right. I remember people clamoring for Edmonds to start over Hart early in the season. So people can't say there was no reason for him to be on the roster at any point.

  19. One thing that was cool about that Braun walk-off grand slam game is that I was there with my dad, and he told me that the first game I ever went to I was with him and Greg Vaughn had hit a walk-off grand slam (I found out that was on 6/16/91). So it was like we had come full circle, which was really cool. Made the moment even more memorable for both of us.
  20. My favorite memory in person is the final game of 2008 with CC and the Braun. Although I was also at the playoff games and the Braun walk-off grand slam, which were all memorable and rare moments. I also saw many of the other games or moments mentioned in this thread, but none beat that moment, or that whole run to the playoffs.
  21. Like I said earlier in the thread, I think he'll be sent down on Thursday when Gallardo comes back. I don't see us sending a pitcher down after a short start from Capuano on Monday especially, which will affect the bullpen. Probably depends more on how much the pen is used on Tuesday and Wednesday though, but when you look at it the odd man out in the pen would be Cappy and I doubt they'll let him go instead of sending Cain back down.
