I'm not really too upset about getting Gomez for Hardy. Obviously it didn't work out, but there was always a chance. Hardy sucks anyway, so it's not that big of a deal. We don't need anymore #5 starters anyway. There's a chance Gomez won't even be on the team next year. If he is, he'll likely be the #5 outfielder.
Where would he be playing almost everyday? There's no way that Fielder, McGehee, or Hart will be on the bench. It's unrealistic to think that the Brewers would do something like that even though it would be nice to get him the at-bats. Now as far as Lorenzo Cain goes, that is in fact possible. Gomez and Edmonds can easily be justified to ride the bench the rest of the year to let Cain play everyday. Will it happen? No. But I think Cain will at least get a good number of starts throughout the rest of the season.
Time to say goodbye to Bush. I'm done with his ups and downs, and hopefully so are the Brewers. But truthfully, if we get another starter in any manner, he's the odd-man out.
Cain is in the lineup! Via Tyler Barnes twitter. Hitting 6th. Brewers vs. Astros - Weeks 4 Hart 9 Fielder 3 Braun 7 McGehee 5 Cain 8 Escobar 6 Kottaras 2 Bush 1 Don't get why Kottaras is catching Bush and not Lucroy, especially against the lefty.
As much as I hate Wolf's contract and his performance this season, I hate Zambrano and his contract a heck of a lot more. I don't want anything to do with the guy.
I also looked, and he was out of the lineup last night in Nashville, meaning he's probably in Milwaukee already. So there's nothing preventing him from starting except Macha.
So, in other words, nothing like Hart's? Unless you're considering same amount of money per year, and if that's the case the total would be much higher (if Weeks were signed to a few extra years).Yeah, I meant dollar amount sorry.
