Anyone know why he was on waivers? Pretty sure Gamel is still on his rehab assignment and hasn't been activated yet.

Still a roster move to come with Edmonds, isn't there? At this point, that will almost have to be Suppan, won't it? I suppose Coffey could go on the DL, but that doesn't sound too likely. Nope, Stern was optioned to Nashville to make room for Edmonds, then he was DFA'd to make room on the 40-man roster for Loe.

Any bets on whether or not Edmonds starts in CF tomorrow night? I say that he will, and he'll also hit second. Not only that, he'll allow a few balls to hit the gap for doubles and triples, or maybe even another inside-the-park home run!

This is just pathetic. Can we just get rid of Estrada and Suppan already? They both suck, and so does Ken Macha. This game is a summary of how this season is going.

Idk what Macha was thinking there. Right before he came out to the mound I was yelling at the TV for him to pull Narveson. Then he actually comes out to my surprise, but doesn't pull him, and sure enough Narveson serves up the 3-run homer. Then he proceeds to leave him in for another batter, so he can hammer one off the wall. Just brilliant stuff Macha.

Villanueva: 26.2 IP 2.70 ERA 36 K 10 BB 1.16 WHIP 7 Holds 1 SaveCoffey: 25.1 IP 3.91 ERA 16 K 10 BB 1.34 WHIP 7 Holds 0 Saves Axford: 8.0 IP 2.25 ERA 13 K 4 BB 1.00 WHIP 1 Hold 2 Saves Pretty clear that CV has better numbers than Coffey this year. At best they are even in performance. Axford will likely be the best of the bunch if he keeps this up, but he isn't yet with only 8 IP.

Seeing as he's been our best relief pitcher this year, I'd say NO.I think he meant Claudio Vargas by "CV" Answer is still no. He'll probably elect free agency, and then no one will sign him.

Agreed, especially since Gomez has been extremely inconsistent and bad at getting on-base this year. Hence his move from the 2 to 7 spot tonight.
