As long as he's in CF that's all that matters. Even though we all know Edmonds will be back in CF tomorrow night. The real question is, will Gerut get playing time when Gomez comes back even if he continues to hit well? I say the answer to that is no unfortunately. Gerut has proven to be good with regular playing time, so I wouldn't mind him getting some regular starts.

Sheets was hitting 94 on the gun early in the game today, and 91-92 by the 6th/7th inning. Didn't seem to have much problem with control either. I don't think velocity is a main concern for him. Just has had to ramp up to it a little bit is all.

Hawkins to DL, Stetter called up

Good, I knew something was wrong with him. Now Coffey can go into the setup role where he belongs, and Stetter gets the well deserved call-up. Hopefully Hawkins will come back and contribute after he rests up a little bit. -

That's the reason he didn't get the job back when Anderson was hired. They don't really have any other options though at this point. Anderson will probably leave for a national job soon, so hopefully someone better than Coshun is hired at that point.

All Braun or Fielder had to do to score a run was hit a ground ball, and they couldn't even do that. Very sad.

I can see why Inglett is playing is he is hitting .455 off Jackson, but batting him second I don't understand. I just see no reason why Gerut shouldn't see some regular at-bats against righties while Gomez is out.

I guess Inglett playing RF and batting second shows how much faith they have in Corey Hart and Jody Gerut. Edmonds is even still playing, even though he's looked absolutely awful since coming back from injury.

Just to put this out there, I only count 39 players on our 40-man roster, so I would guess that we could add anyone to the 40-man without having to make a separate move to create a spot.

Sounds about right to me. I think Suppan will be the odd man out when push comes to shove though. They need to bring Stetter back sooner rather than later. Parra is not gonna be the answer in that kinda role. He can be effective in the pen, but I don't seem him as a loggy by any means. -

I don't mind Narveson taking the spot over Parra. I would've liked to see Parra in there, but I guess it's worth seeing if Narveson is better in the rotation. Especially since Parra has actually been good in the pen so far. I'm just excited that Soup got pulled so early. I thought he'd last a lot longer in the rotation than he did. -
