  1. Looking at the radar, it might be another hour or two before the game starts.
  2. Also, Felipe will be wearing the #3, so everyone order their Lopez jerseys now! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. If this game was at Miller Park, they'd probably do a Kevin Mench type entrance for Lopez.
  4. I completely agree with this take. I don't have any problems with this deal, even if another deal doesn't follow. Although, I would like to see us acquire a starting pitcher obviously. I think everyone would.
  5. I think you're right on that. I remember when Bush went down last year we were in that situation. He was called up before 10 days though because of Gallardo getting injured.
  6. I don't really see why everyone thinks that Weeks can just step in and be a good CF. Hall was able to do it, but I see him as being a lot more versatile defensively then Weeks. Also, Hall had a whole offseason to adjust. Weeks would likely not find out about it until after the Lopez situation is resolved. It would also add another thing for him to think about coming off injury. I don't think it's a great idea at this point in time.
  7. I wonder how much Lopez could get in arby? I don't know that he could get a multi-year offer from someone else.
  8. Lopez is already past arbitration. We don't have to offer him arby to get compensation for him.
  9. How would he make $8M when his production has declined this year? As of right now, his pay will drop from the $4.65M he's making this year. Even if he picks it up, I'd say he makes $5M max.
  10. Agree, but the reality is Gamel just wasn't going to be the everyday starter at 3rd for whatever reason. A Lopez + McGehee / Counsell combination is better then Counsell + McGehee. I'm just excited about a someone who consistently gets on base batting in front of Braun and Fielder. I couldnt agree more. We desperately need some guys on base for Braun and Fielder. We could put Counsell in the 2 spot when he plays, so that could be a nice 1-2 for us.
  11. Also, Hall will no longer play at all, which is good. Lopez will play 2b against lefties, and McGehee will play 3b. Hall will likely only see pinch-hit ab's in extra inning games, so I don't think there's even a point to keeping him anymore. However, we probably will keep him.
  12. Really the only reason he's still on the roster is his contract, which doesn't matter anyway because I doubt he'll contribute anything to this team in the next 2 years. But, that's the justification for Melvin to keep him.
  13. Gamel was already pushed aside by Ken Macha, who seemed reluctant to play him at all, even playing Hall over him. And Counsell will be mostly off the bench now, because Lopez doesn't have bad splits vs. righties. He will likely be everyday 2b and leadoff hitter. This is anything but a useless move. Gamel might as well play somewhere if Macha won't play him on a regular basis.
  14. I'd like to see him play everyday as well, but it doesn't seem like Macha will let that happen as you said.
  15. I'm not sure what this means for everyone else in the infield, however I wouldn't mind Gamel going back down to get regular AB's, and Counsell platooning or splitting time with McGehee at 3b. Then Lopez is everyday 2b and leadoff hitter.
  16. He is hitting lefties .317, and righties .301 this year, with a .368 OBP. Should be our everyday 2b and leadoff hitter in my opinion.
  17. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/51142437.html Big time steal for Doug Melvin! I wonder if this means that Gamel is headed to AAA, or if Hall is on his way out?
  18. I'm looking for 2-4 tickets to the game on Sunday 7/26 vs. the Braves. I'd be willing to pay fair price on any seats. Not looking for any specific location. If anybody has anything let me know. Thanks.
  19. It looked like it cleared the bleachers from what I saw. That had to be in the 475 range.
  20. Good work Brian! It was nice to hear Brewerfan.net get some face time. Well done! Also big thanks to Sparky for allowing this to happen.
  21. I really like this lineup. I just continue to hope that Macha finds a lineup and sticks with it.
  22. Only bandwagon "fans" want to make the move. Now I've heard it all. Stellar 41st post, nice to meet you. I don't think that many bandwagon fans even know about our chances to get Halladay, or about any of our prospects like Escobar. Bandwagon fans aren't even informed even to be able to influence anyone on a trade like this. There are plenty of long time Brewer fans that want Roy Halladay in a Brewer uniform, because they know more than anyone what he brings to the table.
