  1. I'd probably give Mike Burns first crack at a spot in the rotation, and if he can't cut it, I'd give the spot to McClung. Hopefully, these guys wouldn't have to cover very many starts before we can acquire another starter.
  2. What the heck happened to Gallardo in the 6th? He was completely dominating through 5, and then the bottom fell out.
  3. Dumb move to sit Corey Hart, who is on a 10-game hit streak, and is one of our hottest hitters right now.
  4. Jonathon Sanchez, Fausto Carmona, Brandon Backe, Ervin Santana, Eric Stultz, Dontrelle Willis, Matt Harrison, Jorge De La Rosa, Chad Gaudin, Derek Holland, Rich Harden, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Tim Redding, Wandy Rodriguez, Jason Berken, Chris Volstad, Johan Santana, Kyle Daviez, Barry Zito, Tom Gorzelanny, Josh Greer, Casey Janssen, Bill Buckner, Matt Maloney, Brett Anderson, Brett Tomko, Paul Maholm, Kris Medlen, Brian Moehler, Brian Bannister, Ricky Nolasko, David Huff, Tim Wakefield, Ross Ohlendorf, Chien-Ming Wang, Andy Sonnastine, Francisco Liriano, John Lackey, Jeff Weaver, Armando Galarraga, Rich Hill, Jerremy Guthrie, Ross Detwiler. Those are the starters with an ERA over 5.50 over the past 30 days. Just keep that in mind before you freak out over a slump for our known to be mediocre rotation. All of these guys are in the same general range as our slumping pitchers. I'm well aware of this, I meant within our organization to take Parra's spot, and Bush's spot if he needs to be skipped or put on the DL. I'm not freaking out. I'm just trying to say that anyone that we call up from the minors to take a few starts for the time being couldn't really be a whole lot worse then those 3 have been lately.
  5. At this point, who could honestly be worse than Bush, Parra, and Looper have been lately?
  6. You'd honestly want Homer Bailey, and his career 7.01 ERA, in our rotation right now? He's done exactly what Mark Rogers has done in his career so far. Absolutely NOTHING. At this point, he would've hurt this team, just like he has with the Reds. Mark Rogers hasn't harmed anything, he just turned out to be a bust, which Bailey is also looking to be.
  7. With the lack of starting pitching that seems to be available, or just our possible inability to acquire a solid starter, I think it would make sense to go after some bullpen help and use McClung or DiFelice in the rotation. Maybe we could even use both if push comes to shove. It's worth a shot to give those guys a chance, and try something different in the pen, especially if we can't acquire a good starting pitcher.
  8. No he wasn't worse at all, which is why he'll probably be back up to replace Gerut pretty soon.
  9. And Gerut has officially reached the Mendoza line. Bill Hall is next up in that department.
  10. I've got the solution for our pitching staff, and our offense. Brooks Keischnick!
  11. Also, based on that last play, I've decided that the Brewers can't catch a break tonight. No luck whatsoever.
  12. I'm in the same boat. There were bad storms last night in Wisconsin that I'm sure prevented a lot of people from getting enough sleep. But yet, we continue to watch. I can barely keep my eyes open. I had to deal with storms and waking up at 5.
  13. He has two hits this game, but I do agree that he needs to go back to AAA unless Macha decides to just let him play every day, which he won't.
  14. I don't think anybody would have a problem if the Brewers actually got to use all 27 outs, but that's not likely to happen tonight and that's crap. If that means stopping the game tonight and resuming with the same score tomorrow, that's fine. But this rule is complete crap. We're down three runs, we're hitting the ball well, we have a good bullpen so we might be able to stop the Tigers offense and we're not even going to be able to use all of our outs. Let's say you just completed the 5th inning and you're down 3-2. They could call the game with your team only down one run with 12 outs to make up that run. That's a bunch of crap. There should be better rules regarding this. I agree with this. I don't understand the rules for rain-outs at all. I don't get why they can't just suspend any game where it is, and just resume play on a different day if need be no matter what. That's the fairest way to do it.
  15. That's good. I hope we get enough time to put up some runs. The game will have to be suspended if it's tied when it starts raining, so we just need 3.
  16. That'd be a pretty foolish move and a forfeit. I don't understand this mentality that there is something wrong with a shortened game, but nothing wrong with wiping out the first 4 innings. I think that they should play if they can, but a 30-minute window doesn't seem like enough to warrant starting the game again. That's how I feel.
  17. Speaking of something of this nature, did any of you guys read the article in SI on Charlie Manuel this week? It said that once when he was coaching in the minors, and his team was losing 7-0 before the game would be official, he paid off the grounds crew to leave when it starting raining, so the infield got flooded, and the game had to be re-played.
  18. Sure seems like the umps are giving the Brewers a raw deal here if they think there's only a 30 minute window, and they are just trying to squeeze another inning in.
  19. I still don't understand how any new ballpark can be built without a roof. Especially in the midwest, where inclement, or cold, weather is fairly common.
  20. Problem with this is that it would take away our off day, forcing us to use a fifth starter on Tuesday, which we didn't want to do.
  21. I have Fielder, Hart, and Granderson, who have a combined 39 pts, which I don't wanna lose. Especially since I'm playing the first place team. Yeah.. except for the fact that the REAL team is losing... Just because I want my fantasy team to win doesn't mean I don't want the Brewers to win too. I just want the game to continue.
