  1. And as a matter of fact he did run over my dog in his fancy black escalade. Right after he had a nice 4 strikeout game.
  2. Did Hall run over your dog or something? Why does everyone defend Hall? Why can't I bash him? He hasn't done anything to warrant anything else. Gamel is the better option right now.
  3. Yes! Gamel already has better production than Hall! And guys c'mon, I'm just trying to get it going a little here lol. I like the Yost comment though.
  4. Where is everybody lately? These game threads have been dead all week long. This matchup is living up to the hype so far.
  5. I hear ya on that one. For anyone who has doubted that stat before, just take a look at how bad that 4 game series was. Before that, we were leading the NL in quality starts, and that has a lot to do with out record.
  6. It is interesting to look at his hitting chart for the '06 season. There are a ton of hits going from center field all the way to right field. I can notice a major difference. He had 10 HR's at Miller Park that year that were from CF to RF. It's amazing how much his approach has changed at the plate since then.
  7. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/stats/individual_player_hitting_chart.jsp?c_id=mil&playerID=407849&statType=1 There is the link to the hitting chart for Bill Hall. You have to switch between venues, but I just looked at Miller Park first of all. I noticed that he has a ridiculous amount of ground ball outs to the left side of the infield. They probably double every other hit, whether it is an out or not. That right there is a clear-cut sign that Hall has converted into a dead pull hitter. The most common out for a pull hitter is a grounder to the right side for a righty, and left side for a lefty. We always see the shifts for Fielder, but based on this hitting chart, I would do the same thing for Hall if I were opposing teams. From my count he has only 4 opposite field hits this year at Miller Park. EVERYTHING is to left field. We all saw that when Bill Hall was at his best, he was pounding balls to right and right-center field. This shows me his problem for sure.
  8. I agree that Macha is partially to blame, and I'm not upset with him giving Hall a chance. I think Macha expects Hall to make adjustments at the plate and he just isn't doing it. That's what upsets me. As a manager, you should expect players to be able to improve themselves. Macha expected a lot from Bill Hall, and he didn't come through for him. I'm just glad that he's finally going to give Gamel and McGehee a chance to play at third.
  9. I agree with you there. Like I said before, he just continually refuses to make adjustments. I would also say that it's his ego that has gotten in the way. I truly don't think this team does "know what he's capable of" anymore. We used to know what he's capable of, but now it's seeming like he isn't capable of anything at all. If he wants to play, he has to do something about his terrible performance. Just doesn't seem like his ego will allow it. He still thinks he's the same player who hit 35 homers in '06.
  10. I think the main problem with Bill Hall is his refusal to make adjustments at the plate. He can't just come out wanting to try to hit opposite field more and expect it to happen. His mechanics and stance need adjusting in order for him to succeed against right-handed pitching. It is clear that Hall has decided that it's his way or the highway, and it isn't working for him at all. He clearly doesn't have a desire to play poorly, in fact, it's exactly the opposite. That's why I am surprised that he refuses again and again to let Dale work with him. Maybe a little bit of change with his stance and mechanics is just what he needs to turn a corner. However, I don't think he'll ever give into that, which means that he'll continue to struggle against right-handed pitching for his entire career. It's sad to see, especially because we all know that he has the potential to be a better player than he is right now.
  11. I agree, he seems like a good guy. I certainly don't hate him. It is just disappointing and frustrating to see him stink at the plate. It'd be great if he were to perform like he did a few years ago, resulting in Gamel going back down after June 21 (last game with a DH). I don't think it's gonna happen, though.Ok, let me rephrase that. I didn't mean as a person. But we are all annoyed by, and probably hate his play. I don't hate him as a person, I just am really starting to hate him as a player. It's just so annoying to keep seeing him in the lineup and failing.
  12. Just for kicks, 3TO is amazing this year. He's hitting .319, with a 1.035 OPS, and he's even hitting .304, with a .965 OPS against lefties. He'd look really good at third base now, but no one would of projected these numbers from him, except Jack Z I guess, lol.
  13. To be fair, this thread is about one player who we all hate. And for good reason too. He has the lowest OBP on our team, and his SLG is lower then everyone but Kendall. He's also hitting .170 against righties, and has a .211 overall BA, but yet he continues to start. People are just voicing their frustrations over his poor play, and the fact that he should be held accountable. People have the right to be down on a guy playing this bad. I don't see any threads bashing other players on our team. Although, Branyan would be a much better option than Hall also at this point. Pretty much anyone would. The only other player besides Hall that people may be somewhat down on is Hart, and that isn't even as bad. Hall hasn't done anything to warrant people not hating him at this point. Personally, I think the majority of our team has done well this year, with the exception of Hall, and lately Hart. Kendall hasn't hit well, but he brings more to the table than that. This thread is based on Macha saying that Hall is close to being benched, so it should be about how bad Hall is playing.
  14. At this point, Hall shouldn't see the light of day at all. I'd rather just see Gamel everyday right now. Gotta give him a chance against lefties at some point. He proved he could hit them in the minors.
  15. This is the best news I've heard in a long time! I hope he gets benched against lefties too. Put McGehee in there against lefties if necessary. I'm definitely on board with this, and I hope Macha actually follows through on it. I'm definitely one of the bigger Hall bashers on this site, so there may be other opinions, but that's how I see it.
  16. And I gotta say, Gerut hasn't looked any different than TGJ. Just a ton of weak grounders to second.
  17. Well, we sure didn't execute well that inning. I would've bunted. Then at least we'd have two chances at getting a hit to tie the game.
  18. Crap, Hall coulda done that. Why wouldn't we bunt there? Or have Hart steal?
  19. I can see Hart running here. And justice has been served! Macha actually pinch-hit for Hall!
  20. We got a great cup of Coffey tonight. Wow! Now please actually do something Hart and Hall.
  21. Basically, if we don't see at least Billy being pinch-hit for I'll be really pissed.
  22. Taking a look at our 9th, we've got Hart, Hall, and Rivera due up. So basically we've got Rivera up with 2 down.
  23. What's up with Cam tonight though? This is by far his worst game all season. I think he caught Bill Hall syndrome. Or maybe some Corey Hart syndrome to go along with that.
  24. Let's get Fielder to the plate again! He's a double away from the cycle!
  25. Yes! Great job Prince! That'll teach 'em to bring in that lefty against him. I love it!
