  1. I really don't understand why Roenicke won't at least start Maysonet for a few games in a row just to see what he does. He won't be any worse than Izturis. That's for sure. He put up more production than him in one at-bat with that Grand Slam, lol. Not that he's all that great himself, but there's nothing to lose.
  2. Last 3 years .585, .578, .546. That's probably where he's getting that from. That doesn't mean he won't do better than that though. He looked good so far this year.
  3. His OPS was .577 in 58 PA's this season, so maybe he can. That was his SLG. His OPS is .922. That said, a look at his stats shows that this 58 PA's are a HUGE deviation from the norm. A .577 OPS would actually be right in line with expectations. Yeah, my mistake. Looked at it wrong. But yeah, there's obviously a reason he got DFA'd.
  4. His OPS was .577 in 58 PA's this season, so maybe he can.
  5. Not leaving Parra in is just stupid. 2 outs and no one on and Roenicke burns his last position player to put in Perez, his worst pitcher available. Parra was pitching great. Makes no sense at all.
  6. It's the achilles again. Crap. Should've just rested him to let it heal after it first happened.
  7. I guess, but I'd rather have Luc's defense in there behind the plate the rest of the way.
  8. Luuuuuuccccc!!!! About time! No reason not to pinch-run for Kottaras, but still won't.
  9. Now the question is where to use Lucroy. Because you have Kottaras, Izturis, and the pitcher's spot up against a LHP with only LHH left besides Luc. Probably have to wait now.
  10. Or Lucroy. But yea, Gomez was the 4th or 5th best option there. Pretty strong show of faith from Roenicke there, and it backfired. I guess he wanted to save the PH for Izturis/pitcher spot. Still don't really get it though. God, Ax in a tie game is so terrifying. It's so bizarre how much he can struggle sometimes I'd prefer a LHH against Romo with the slider he throws. But Lucroy also would've been better. The easy solution was just to put in Morgan and leave him in the game in CF.
  11. Gomez hitting there against Romo is inexcusable with Morgan, Ishikawa, and Green all on the bench. Need a LHH there.
  12. I agree, not sure why he's holding Lucroy back. Maybe for Gomez in the 9th I guess. But still, Maysonet sucks. I'd rather have anyone else on the bench over him. Other than maybe Morgan, because he's so bad against LHP.
  13. Only problem with that is the actual math. Lucroy has played 37 out of 41 games this season, that's 90.2% of the games. Over 162 game season Lucroy is on pace to play 146 games. Not trying to be confrontational, I just think the way Lucroy is being used is good for the team and it sure seems to be working for him. I'm talking starts, not games played. Not to be a jerk, but then use the same stat for Molina...he's started 135-140 games once in his career, the past two have been 130 and 132. I would like to see Luc hit 130 as well, and he should if he sits out all of Wolf's starts. Throw in a few day games after night games and it drops to about 125 (although those could be canceled out some if he DH's in Wolf starts during interleague). It will end up being a difference of a few games. He'll end up in the 120-125 range. I want him in the 130-135 range. That's a big enough difference to me. But most importantly, I'd rather not have his off days be scheduled like they are now. Should just be whenever Roenicke feels like giving him a day off just like any other top catcher. He shouldn't be getting days off against LHP coming off a 7 RBI game. That's the real point here. And it wouldn't happen if Wolf wasn't confined to Kottaras. I'd feel better about Kottaras getting 35-40 starts if it was done in a smarter manner.
  14. Wait, are you saying Izturis is an above average player? Believe that was about Weeks. Ok then I understand. The comment was just way after people were bashing Weeks. It was right after the Izturis bashing.

  16. Melvin should grab Cody Ransom, who just got DFA'd. He was actually hitting pretty well for them. He'd get us by for awhile.
  17. That's just great Izturis. Do the only thing you absolutely cannot do there. Awesome.
  18. It doesn't make sense to sit a catcher the caliber of Lucroy once every 5 games. He can play more than that, especially with scheduled off days mixed in. Luc should be catching 135-140 games. That won't happen with this setup. Take a look at good catchers like Yadier Molina. 140, 136, and 139 starts the last 3 seasons. That's what Luc should be doing. Not the 120-125 or so Luc will end up getting, because he'll end up sitting some day game after night games too in certain situations.
  19. What do you expect him to say? He's not gonna throw Roenicke under the bus for not playing him. The point is that his day off is against a LHP only because Wolf is starting. He could've taken tomorrow off against the RHP, and then gone back in Wednesday against the LHP.
