The Sheets 18 K game is still the best pitched game I've ever seen in person. I'll always remember that. I loved Ben Sheets. I wish he would've gotten to pitch for the Brewers once we actually had an offense. He was incredibly underrated. -

Why is it disgusting to see incredible pitching more often? I love seeing perfect games. They are a blast to watch. I'm glad they've been happening more often in recent years. It takes nothing away from the feat at all. It's still an incredible accomplishment. It's only happened 22 times ever in the history of the MLB. -
Wolf has 95 pitches and has pitched an outstanding game. No reason he should be pulled. But yet he will for the guy who blew last night's game. I'll never understand Ron Roenicke.

Actually can't really complain vs. a LHP. The only other option is for Hart to stick at leadoff, but I like Aoki there. Hart at 5 is far better than Weeks.

I don't see much wrong with this lineup at all. The only problem I have is Maldonado taking up a roster spot but hopefully Lucroy can get healthy soon so that can be corrected. Right now there is very little difference between Gomez and Morgan this year. I don't mind Gomez getting the start here and he is batting where he should be when Chad Moeller with better defense is in the lineup. I don't see anyone else who I would want hitting 5th. This is the probably the best lineup that can be made other than taking Chad Moeller with better defense out of the lineup and using Kottaras at catcher. You are really underestimating Maldonado's value on defense. Especially compared to Kottaras. He's leaps and bounds better than him behind the plate, and it's incredibly noticeable. He's clearly the best defensive catcher in our organization. It's been great watching him behind the plate. He's obviously not a great hitter, but I definitely don't mind him in the lineup in the 8 hole. If Wolf wasn't on this team, Kottaras wouldn't be either.

Gomez vs. a RHP again. Awesome.

Problem is Gomez can't hit pitching well enough. The only reason he should be platooned is because your CF is terrible against LHP. Other than that, he is a bench guy. Last year I would've agreed, but not with how Morgan is hitting this year. Gomez is also better in CF than Morgan. I do agree that Gomez isn't a very good hitter though. I like him starting and in the 8 hole though, just to have his defense in there. That platoon is what works best though.

I'm with you on this. Just call-up Schafer to platoon with Gomez in CF if need be. Morgan isn't bringing anything to the table this year. Problem is that Gomez still can't hit RHP well enough, or Morgan would be riding the bench pretty much all the time.

Roenicke is actually using Ax for 2 innings. Pigs are flying. He's had so many opportunities to do so in this year, and hasn't.

Well, that didn't work out. Gomez would've struck out or popped out if he didn't bunt though, so still a good move. Hart can get it done.

Fixed. Don't need to bunt to give him a shot to give us the lead. Gotta set-up the RBI single. I'd definitely prefer a 2-run bomb though.

And K-Rod blows it. Ugh. Hope he at least keeps it at a 1-run game, because the Cubs bullpen is horrible.

I'm guessing Maysonet did it on his own because he sucks and figured if he didn't get a hit, he could at least justify it as a sac bunt.
