  1. Well, should've seen that coming with how this season is going.
  2. You honestly think he called that bunt? Lol. Aoki obviously did that himself to try to get a hit.
  3. Ramirez! I love it! I hope we can get to the pen early. That will be huge in this series. The Jays don't even have starters announced for the last two games. Will likely be inexperienced guys who won't go deep.
  4. Pretty sure Aoki got in there safe. It was close though, so can't really complain.
  5. A squeeze is a good call there against a ground ball pitcher like Alvarez. Gotta get the run in there and avoid the DP. Although with Aoki running it's probably a little less necessary. Roenicke loves the squeeze though, and Aoki is such a good bunter that he'll just end up with a hit half the time anyway.
  6. Two outs, you drag the throw away from home to score the run. You watch to make sure Braun scores and if he doesn't you stop to get him home before the out. Yes, I'm aware of that situation obviously. I just don't think Braun scoring was gonna be an issue there with him running on the 3-2 count, so that's likely not why he went. Oh well, doesn't really matter anyway, we got the runs in.
  7. There we go Rickie! Wish Ramirez didn't get thrown out at third though. No idea why he went there on a bad quad.
  8. Ok. I guess the point I'm trying to make is I'm not gonna complain about him not being in the lineup. I don't think there's much difference whether he's in there or not. I'd rather just have Hart at 1B and Aoki in RF every day. That doesn't really leave anywhere for Green to play. Not getting regular playing time won't help him, so he's better off in AAA. He won't be there though because of all of the injuries. I agree he'd be better off with consistent PT. I just wish that was up here. I've been saying all year I'd like to see ARam/Weeks get a day off each a week to keep them fresh. And with ARam's nagging injury and Weeks' struggles, that seems like a good idea. So that's 2 starts a week there. Then I'd put Green at 1B once or twice a week with Aoki in CF and Hart in RF. I think Green could just be a super-utility guy and get 3-4 starts a week. But he's just a rookie. He definitely could, but Roenicke will never sit out Weeks and Ramirez on a consistent basis. It's also partially because he likes leaving guys at one position for the most part.
  9. Well he hit the ball pretty damn well in the Twins series and just ran into some bad luck. A few line outs yesterday. And his BABIP is pretty low as well.
  10. I don't really see any reason to be playing Green over Morgan right now. That's basically what the decision comes down to. Green's slash line is .214/.288/.386. He's not really doing anything to deserve playing time. He went 1-9 in the Twins series.
  11. No it doesn't. Parra can go 4 innings. Then just fill the other 5 with the pen. Fiers may be able to take 2 innings or so since he last pitched Saturday and wouldn't be needed again until Sunday. It probably is all hinging on how much the pen has to be used tonight though. If they use multiple guys they may have to go with Thornburg. Otherwise they might just go with the pen, because it's only one start.
  12. Thornburg likely won't get a shot. They'll probably fill will the bullpen tomorrow, then Fiers would take the next turn on Sunday. Estrada will be back next Tuesday. I don't see them calling anyone up to fill just one start unless they are absolutely forced to. Fiers will take over the spot if he's out longer.
  13. Exactly. Who would we even throw out there? Green? Conrad? They really wouldn't provide any improvement. Green can't draw a walk to save his life. He has a .289 OBP currently. And Conrad, well he's hitting .077.
  14. If he actually is still dealing with an injured hand or wrist we should just DL him. That'll give him some time off, and then some time in AAA. Maybe that would help.
  15. Well, I'm not watching the next couple days. I can't handle this anymore.
  16. That is a good point and i would be interested to hear the thought process behind it as well I've thought this as well. It comes to mind every time I see it. It's so stupid. There shouldn't be any reward for swinging at a pitch in the dirt.
  17. I don't understand why we didn't just put Green in at 1B. Not like we needed to save him for later or anything. We're in an AL park.
  18. Guess it's a false alarm. He still has the pony tail in the back. Looks buzzed on the top and sides though, so weird hairstyle right now.
  19. He doesn't need to play RF. He can just get starts at 1B, with Hart in RF, and Aoki in CF. But Roenicke seems to rarely do that for some reason.
  20. Kottaras isn't going anywhere until Wolf is gone, so it's not even worth discussing.
  21. This just in. Looks like Rickie cut off his dreads based on this pic Nyjer Morgan just tweeted. Maybe he's decided to go the superstitious route himself now.
