  1. http://fox6now.com/2012/05/05/couple-holds-dream-wedding-at-miller-park/ This is pretty awesome, so thought I'd share it with all the rest of us die-hard Brewers fans.
  2. He's currently with the Yankees in AAA, but he's on the DL.
  3. I agree, it's far too early to count us out. All of these injuries so early in the season are terrible, and seem to make things grim, but we're not necessarily doomed. We really just have to get by for a month or two, and then we can look at trade options if nothing has worked out. Izturis is definitely still an upgrade defensively over Yuni, but he won't provide that pop that Yuni and Gonzalez did. 1B is a big question mark, but hopefully something works out there within the next few weeks. If not, we'll have some options to look at in trades. Just need to try to stay in the race, and then anything can happen late in the season. That was proved last year with what happened with the Rays and Cardinals.
  4. The problem is that it's really hard to make trades this early in the season. They'll have to get by with in-house options at 1B and SS until probably July. Whether or not they are still in contention at that point remains to be seen, but it's obviously not encouraging with the remaining options available. Free agency could be an option at 1B with Derrek Lee, but I think it's more likely they just go with the Ishikawa/Conrad platoon for awhile. Then maybe try Hart or Green there before they look elsewhere. SS is a different story though. They have to know Izturis/Maysonet just isn't going to work to begin with. There's no Plan B after those two either like there is at 1B.
  5. He also had a screwed up knee the required surgery. Another good point. It was apparently bothering him most of last season as well. Probably explains some of the speed difference.
  6. SS is where we're really screwed. Izturis and Maysonet. Yuck. Not that 1B is much better though, but maybe Hart and Green can get some time there. A trade or two seems to be in order, unless we just completely fall out of the race in the next month or two.
  7. It sucks that we still have to listen to Schroeder, but lose BA for this game. Too bad BA works for TBS.
  8. http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/2012/05/05/gomez-expected-to-hit-dl/ This makes it sound like it will be Taylor Green coming up.
  9. I don't have a problem with platoons if done right. Like the Gomez/Morgan platoon was absolutely perfect last year. A platoon of Ishikawa and Conrad is pretty horrible. That's a situation where we're better off just going with Hart most days, with Ishikawa maybe getting a few starts. Or go with Green if that doesn't work out.
  10. And maybe a ball, some cleats, a hat, some tickets. Lol, jk. What he got was pretty sweet to begin with. He did the right thing. Speaking of this subject though. Who was that guy that asked for season tickets or something like that? Didn't the Happy Youngster ask for something ridiculous for the Coughlin HR ball?
  11. Pujols starting slow is one thing, but he's been unbelievably bad. It's really weird to see.
  12. I agree. Hart definitely plays hard. He has just lost a step or two over the last few years, which tends to happen to guys his size. Just because he doesn't beat out throws that he used to, or run down balls he used to, doesn't mean he's not trying out there, or is lazy. That's just completely untrue. I've seen him work hard every time he plays.
  13. That's a classy move right there. Most people wouldn't even care to track down Braun and get him the ball like that, even if they weren't gonna sell. That was really nice of him to do that.
  14. So those 3 big Marlins signings are looking pretty bad so far. Reyes .226, Buehrle 1-4, and Bell just blew his 4th save and his ERA went DOWN to 11.42. Not looking too hot there.
  15. It would be funny if there was no missed sign there, and Izturis is just that slow.
  16. Finally saw an update on Gomez. Day-to-day with a tweaked left hamstring. Don't like the sound of that.
  17. Veras stepped it up. Time for K-Rod to do the same. I'd appreciate some insurance runs though anyway.
  18. If this were last season, everyone would've gone to sleep after that Ramirez hit. Now, everyone stays awake and nervously watches.
  19. Speaking of being hurt, did we ever hear anything on Gomez? I haven't seen any update on his injury.
  20. Anyone notice Conrad being cheered by Giants fans? I take it they remember him gift-wrapping Game 3 of the 2010 NLDS for them.
  21. There's absolutely no way I'd sign him to a contract worth the kind of money he wants. He's not worth it at all. Not many pitchers are. The Brewers especially can't afford to do it. They should start talking to Marcum on a 3 year deal, maybe with an option if we have to. The fact that negotiations with Greinke ended tells me the talks went past the dollar amount Melvin was comfortable with.
  22. We're lucky we got that out call at 1B. Either way though, Weeks needs to make that play. Ugh.
