I agree with moving Ishikawa up, but it's probably because we're facing a LHP. Maybe he and Weeks will flip-flop against RHP. At least Conrad isn't starting.
RF Hart, CF Aoki, LF Braun, 3B Ramirez, C Lucroy, 2B Weeks, 1B Ishikawa, SS Izturis, P Estrada Ron finally did it! Lineup change! I'd probably go with Hart in the 2 hole though, but can't complain.
Calm down man. We get it. Weeks is struggling. We're all frustrated. But did you ever think that Roenicke has him there because it gives him the best chance to start hitting? He's used to hitting at the top of the order, and is most comfortable. It's also one of the best spots to be hitting, because it's in front of Braun. Putting him low in the order doesn't really give him the best chance to succeed. I get that it's been a problem, but I can't fault Roenicke for giving him a chance to turn things around. It'll get to the point where he has to give up on it obviously, but he deserves a little while longer here. The only other option is Lucroy, and he's needed in the 6 hole right now because he's the only one driving in runs. In a lot of ways the Brewers need Weeks to get going in the 2 hole, because it's best for the club in the long run.
I hope this is what they do as well. It makes more sense than keeping Conrad over Green, and continuing to give him starts against LHP. Aoki deserves that extra PT.
Sounds like it's gonna be very interactive too through WWE.com and social media. Fans will get to pick stipulations and stuff like that. So basically it's like Cyber Sunday, except permanently on RAW. Awesome.
John Cena just tweeted that Raw will permanently be 3 hours starting on July 23rd. I think that's awesome personally. Now they can actually mix in some more wrestling into the shows, while still fitting in all the crap they wanna do. It also allows more time to feature all of the top talent from SmackDown every week too, which is another positive. Maybe they'll just ditch the whole split brand thing now. Basically everyone is on Raw, and the SmackDown people just have a separate show on top of it. Might as well just make that an extra show for all of the talent, and not just the SmackDown talent. Either way, this should help the entertainment value of Raw quite a bit.
http://buzztap.com/link.jsp?id=9287025&cid=107&source=feed This makes it sound like the signing was just because Baker and McClung suck. That's fine I guess. At least he's not a major league option. Also like the talk of Bianchi in there.
I'd take Fiers right now too, whether it be in the 5 spot or in the pen. Either way it helps. Just seems like the most obvious move to improve the pen is to put Estrada back in it, and insert someone else in the rotation.
Exactly, calling up Peralta is a move that needs to be made to stabilize the pen. Then, as Madtown343 said you can also call up Henderson or maybe Kintzler when he's ready, and then dump Chulk and Dillard. And btw madtown, Wooten already got called up to AAA.
Not really news here. They'll go after big names in season and all of the top free agents this offseason, especially Greinke and Hamels. Not sure why Hamels isn't listed here if Victorino and Blanton are. I don't see Greinke and Marcum being available unless we're 10+ games out at the deadline.
Delmon Young got 50 games in the minors for flipping his bat underhanded into an umpire. I know this isn't as bad, and it's the majors, but it still deserves a harsh punishment. I'd say at least 10-15 games, but I doubt he gets more than 5.
http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/151731325.html#!page=0&pageSize=10&sort=newestfirst I hope this means Peralta is coming up to join the rotation as TH speculates here. We could really use Estrada back in the bullpen, and it's time to give Peralta a shot.
I'm fine with Ishikawa getting most of the starts as well. He's very good with the glove and he's shown flashes at the plate. Might as well see what he can do. I have a feeling Green is heading back to AAA on Sunday when Gomez is activated anyway. Conrad will probably be kept because he's a switch-hitter and can play 1B against LHP. I'd rather keep Green though. He'd be good off the bench for us, and could still see some starts at 1B. Either way, I'm a lot more concerned about SS and RP going forward than I am about 1B.
There's already plenty of these up on Ebay, as expected. Opening bids at around $150. I hope no one legitimately pays that for one of those. They'll be in the team store in a few weeks for $40 just like the Bernies were.
Yes, this. Exactly. As far as I can tell, these "rumors" about the Brewers pursuing Josh Hamilton are all based on one purely speculative piece out of Dallas. Nothing more. I'm in this boat as well. I feel that we would've just kept Fielder if we were looking at throwing huge money around. Not sure why Hamilton would be more enticing long-term than Fielder. It's all just speculation. He'll probably end up in New York or LA. Whoever pays the most. Imagine Hamilton and Kemp in one OF. That would be pretty insane. And Ethier in the same OF as well. I could see it happening.
That's a good point. Maybe it'll be more along the lines that Show will help JL win, because he knows he'll get his job back if he does so. He'll still end up heel, but that would make more sense for his reasoning.
It seems like it would've made more sense to spring this sometime in the late afternoon or something, rather than 5 AM. Gotta figure most people were asleep, just getting up, at work, heading to work, or needed to head to work soon. Just seems like a bad time of day for it to me. I didn't care about it anyway, but I'm sure plenty of people did. More notice would've been nice for people at least a little bit outside of Milwaukee too.
Well, given the events during, and the announcement at the end of, Raw tonight I now know the outcome of the Cena/JL match at Over The Limit. Since whoever interferes will get fired, we'll find out that JL firing Big Show was all a set up. He'll come out and interfere because he has nothing to lose. Everyone will think he's screwing JL out of his job, but he'll screw Cena, thus giving JL the win. JL keeps his job, and then rehires Big Show. Show will then be JL's heel enforcer. Pretty obvious.
Apparently the Brewers really love supporting random people who like making money on Ebay, because that's all the promotion did last year. Maybe they'll actually set it up better this year, but I'd say that's doubtful.
