  1. They claim that we can afford to re-sign BOTH Greinke and Marcum, because we only have $59 million committed for next season. Pretty pointless article.
  2. Maysonet is starting at SS, not Izturis. If someone had told me before the season that Green, Conrad, and Maysonet would all be starting in the same game I would've freaked out. It's pretty crazy.
  3. We really need Brandon Kintzler to stay healthy and get in that 7th inning role. Then use Loe and Veras as situational guys. Also, Parra has definitely earned some bigger innings.
  4. I'm glad Rickie's ok. Also, missing a game or two is probably the best thing for him right now. Long-term it would've been horrible, but maybe this will help him snap out of his funk. Also, I don't understand why Maysonet is starting at 2B over Conrad or Green. If Roenicke wanted to get Maysonet in there he should've started at SS.
  5. Lol, typical WWE with this gimmick. Completely contradicting other things they are doing.
  6. In theory Lucroy is good in the 2 hole, but he doesn't really project there well in the long haul. He doesn't have speed, and he won't continue getting on bas at a .364 clip. He does have the bunting ability Roenicke likes there though, which could make in work in the short-term until Weeks gets going. I would probably do it for now. I'm not sure I'd use Kottaras there either, but they could for now like I said. I think in the long-term I'd just swap Weeks and Hart. I think Hart works better at the top of the order. His best success was when he was batting either leadoff or in the 2 hole, and Rickie did well in the 5 hole last year. Obviously Rickie needs to get going a little first to justify that move, but I'd like to see this eventually. Morgan/Gomez/Aoki Hart Braun Ramirez Weeks Lucroy Green Izturis Pitcher
  7. The Dodgers will be throwing money at everyone this offseason. I would imagine that'll include Hamilton. Probably Greinke too. And Hamels.
  8. Apparently a Cubs scout was in Appleton on Tuesday specifically to see Drew Gagnon pitch, and left right away when he didn't. Raises some questions about whether or not the Brewers are interested in any Cubs. LaHair maybe?
  9. The Brewers would never pay to sign him. If they were looking to shell out big bucks they would've just kept Prince and been done with it. I personally don't think anyone should risk signing him to the type of deal he'll command, and especially not the Brewers.
  10. Wow, that is sad. This happens way too often it seems. 4 people died in a crash by my house recently because a driver had a seizure while driving. Very, very sad.
  11. Wow, let's swing at the first pitch after a walk Ishikawa. Ugh.
  12. Conrad was already used. So it'd be Kottaras or Ishikawa. Probably Kottaras is who I'd use. He catches, Maysonet goes to SS.
  13. Now you for sure pinch-hit for Izzy here. Didn't think they'd make a pitching change.
  14. I also believe this because the top of the order was coming up, and Zack had that whole lineup confused. Could've gotten out of the 9th, and then put Ax in for the 10th if we hadn't won the game. That's not really fair to say after the fact. If Greinke gives up a run in the 9th we would have a bunch of people questioning that decision as well. They would say, 'he hasn't pitched that deep into a game in a long time, of course he's tired, we have 2 'closers' why didn't we use them?' Except that he looked as strong as he had all game in the 8th. He struck out the side. Looked like he was gaining steam. Not like he labored through the 8th, or looked tired at all. But yes, people will always argue everything. No matter what decisions are made.
  15. It's not over yet! This really supports the argument of leaving Greinke in for the 9th. Could've thrown another shutout inning and Braun hits the walkoff. Oh well, hindsight is 20-20 I guess. Time to get another run!
  16. My thoughts exactly. Just didn't say anything because I didn't want to open a can of worms. Poor Zackkk...what a performance today. I also believe this because the top of the order was coming up, and Zack had that whole lineup confused. Could've gotten out of the 9th, and then put Ax in for the 10th if we hadn't won the game.
