  1. Punk vs. Bryan is gonna be an instant classic! Glad they are finally getting a PPV match against each other. EPIC! Also, I actually didn't mind the Laurinaitis stuff tonight. Going off on Cena at the end was unexpected, but I liked it. We'll have to see where they go with it though. There's still a ton of questions out there though. I know they just needed to get Lesnar off TV for awhile, then he'll come back somehow and eventually face HHH and then Orton. Not sure how they'll book it though. And what will Jericho do now? Not sure where they're gonna pull the rest of the Over The Limit card from. I'm guessing Sheamus/ADR for the WHC, but what else? And it seems like they've totally given up on the brand extension for good now. With a SmackDown guy going after the WWE title, that seals it. Also, tons of SmackDown guys were in the beat the clock. They might as well just officially announce that it's over, so some better guys can appear on SmackDown too to get ratings.
  2. Yeah, there's no way Vince would've had the balls to turn Hogan heel like Bischoff did. Hogan did return to WWE as a heel with the NWO, but that was a different situation. I don't see Cena ever getting turned honestly. At least not any time soon. It's possible if some other guys step up as big time stars. I would've liked to see Cena's character change too, but I knew it wouldn't happen. I was waiting for something like that to be booked to finally have him recover from his loss to The Rock. They probably could've gone a lot of different ways with it, but ultimately they just decided to pull things back together. Disappointing for sure, but hopefully Cena will at least be gone for awhile so we get something different to watch.
  3. There are rumors he will feud with HHH, or his feud with Orton could just start right away. In my opinion, they kind of needed to have Cena get the win in that match. As much as everyone hates his gimmick, they had to build him back up as the babyface who overcomes the odds. He got the win, but clearly still lost in the end with how Brock decimated and injured him. That's the way they'll play it, so Brock looks strong and Cena isn't in essence an afterthought while he's gone. He needed to maintain some credibility, so he can still come back strong. It would've been interesting to see how they would've played his character if he had lost though, and just been stretchered off and not returned for months. They did what they had to do to keep him relevant though. He sells tickets and merchandise, and Vince can't jeopardize that. Like it or not, that's just how it is. I've learned to accept it. I thought he and Brock both did a great job in that match, and with selling the whole story. It definitely worked in my opinion. However, there's still time to screw it up. They have to finish the angle well, and book it the right way. We'll see what happens on Raw tonight.
  4. Anyone see Extreme Rules. I think it was overall better than WrestleMania. Sheamus/Bryan and Punk/Jericho were both absolutely fantastic. Cena/Lesnar was ok, but was more for the angle and story it told. I wasn't a huge fan of all the MMA stuff from Lesnar. I was hoping to see the 02-04 wrestler we are used to. It seemed more because he was being built as a monster and that it was an extreme rules match. Cena winning didn't really hurt Brock at all in this situation. It did the job. The other supporting matches also were pretty good. A lot better than the matches low on the card at WrestleMania. For those who missed it though, definitely check out Sheamus/Bryan and Punk/Jericho. Two awesome matches. Punk/Jericho was a lot better than their Mania match in my opinion. It was one of the best matches of the last year, if not THE best match. Also, it looks like Cena is taking some time off and being written off TV based on the promo he cut at the end. We'll see for sure tomorrow night. I know he had previously mentioned he'd be taking time off to film some movies at some point this year. Now could be that time. Except it's booked as an injury angle to build up Lesnar.
  5. Wow, that is terrible. Very sad that this happened.
  6. There we go Ramirez! He's really starting to heat up! I also love Carlos Gomez this season. I've always loved the way he approached every game like it's Game 7 of the World Series, but now that he's playing well it's a lot more fun to watch.
  7. Wasn't happy with the depth of my OF, but I was able to pick up both Harper and Trout on Friday. Pretty happy about that. Hopefully at least one of them steps up and produces.
  8. What's funny is that Parra actually has the second best ERA on the team behind Loe, and yet everyone still rips on him. Obviously he hasn't been fantastic or anything, but I don't have a problem with him in the pen going forward.
  9. Parra has done well enough so far in my opinion. I think he's here to stay unless he drops off. Those last 2 spots will be the rotating ones. Ax, K-Rod, Veras, Loe are obviously safe all year. Parra is definitely safe for the foreseeable future as well. I'm hoping Kintzler can take one spot when he's back to full strength. I wouldn't mind seeing a lefty be brought up. Parra is more of a long-relief or multiple inning guy anyway. Stetter could end up being an option, or Perez as well.
  10. So how long until Chulk is gone? Or how about Dillard for that matter? I really wish Kintzler was healthy right now.
  11. Trout is getting recalled too after Abreu was just released. Big day for call-ups. Two young studs.
  12. Really glad the NFL Draft was on tonight. Didn't have to sit through that crap. Wasn't watching during that horrible inning luckily. Flipped over and then flipped right back when I saw the score. Gallardo is cursed against STL.
  13. Yo needs to start this series off right. About time for him to beat the Cardinals.
  14. He sucks. That's why the Tigers cut him. If he was good a team like them wouldn't cut him. I'll pass.
  15. I really like what Aoki brings to the table. When you compare the quality at-bats he has to the at-bats Morgan has, it's not even close. Aoki looks outstanding, working deep into counts and being tough on the pitcher. Whereas, Morgan is a free swinger who hasn't drawn a single walk and has 10 K's in 48 AB's. Aoki also looks better in the OF. He take far better routes to ball, has a far better arm, and just seems to have better awareness out there. It's pretty obvious to me already that he's a better player than Morgan. He should at least be splitting time against RHP right now. I do think he'll eventually take that spot and Morgan will get traded. Just seems inevitable that Morgan is the odd man out. Gomez has also looked outstanding so far. I'm not sure I'd mess with him and start throwing him out there against RHP, mainly because he's doing so well in his role right now. I wouldn't be opposed to giving him more playing time though, because he seems to finally be turning a corner. Either way, Morgan is on the outside looking in. He's getting out-played by both of the other CFs.
  16. Both were LITERAL quotes from Trwi when the idea of trading for K-Rod came up last year a couple months into the season, and with regard to Aram, it came during last trade deadline when it was suggested the Brewers may target him if he was willing to sign for 10-12 million. No you have an "idea." So...the whole, "not gonna happen," nonsense is just that. Nonsense. It may well be unlikely, but but things change. If we're 3 up in a month and someone goes down, while it may be unlikely, it's certainly not impossible that we go after Oswalt. Especially since I see little need for Texas, and if Oswalt at that time looks at the Brewers as a more viable contender with his addition, it's possible. It's just this declaration of what will and won't happen on this board that's taken as fact that's a bit ridiculous at times. FF to June 1st. Carpenter's nerve injury has him out for the year, Waino is still struggling, Lohse has come down to Earth, they're struggling as a team(or they suffer other injuries as they're littered with players who have a high risk of injury as their core pieces offensively in Furcal, Berkman, Freese, Holliday as well as Lohse, Carp, Waino...). See...Brewers lose Yo/Greinke for an extended period of time when they're up a few games in the Central, the Cards stumble and lose a couple of key pieces, none of which is the least bit far fetched, and the Brewers offer him 5 million for the second half.... If that scenario played out, there would be an almost 100% chance that he signs with the Cardinals, not the Brewers.
  17. Really? Izturis here? Ishikawa isn't great against LHP, but he hit a HR off one earlier this game. Izturis sucks.
  18. Yeah, can't blame Veras for that one. He was fine today. Monday he was awful.
  19. Crap, Tim Dillard time. It's time for every to start holding their breath. And go.
  20. Looks like we're gonna see lots of middle relief again today with Marcum at 81 pitchers through 4. That hasn't been a recipe for success lately. Need some more runs here. And glad that Ishikawa got that homer against the lefty. Maybe he's in the zone a little. Works for me.
