  1. It's funny that people think Kotsay was such a good pinch-hitter, when he had a .601 OPS and 0 HR last season as a pinch-hitter for the Brewers.
  2. Kottaras? I'm as big of a Kottaras supporter that you'll find, but you can't use him there. It's looking like this game could go into extra innings. They might need him to catch. If it was a chance with runners on or something, sure, but not to lead off an inning. A hit in that spot, especially an extra base hit, would've gone a long way to preventing extra innings an winning. Gomez could've come in to run and stole a base or two as well.
  3. And there's why Aoki is far more valuable that Morgan. Great at-bat. Morgan has drawn 1 walk in 61 PA this season.
  4. At this point, yes. Morgan has been atrocious. Gomez is currently hitting with nearly even splits. I'd prefer Kottaras there though. He's a fastball hitter, there may not be another pinch-hitting opportunity left in this game.
  5. Alright, way to get a rally started by pinch-hitting with our worst hitter so far this season. Good move Roenicke.
  6. I agree, I wouldn't've bunted there with a guy like Ishikawa. But it would be nice if guys could get it down after it's called.
  7. I really wish more guys on this team could lay down a bunt. That was pathetic right there Ishikawa.
  8. Are we really starting this after 26 ABs, a 768 ops with a home run, some really pesky ABs, from pinch hitting and maybe 2 random starts? I agree, I really like what Aoki has brought to the table. He's still a far better option than Morgan. Gomez seems to be leading the pack though.
  9. Mike Vassalo just tweeted that Gamel left with a twisted knee as a precaution.
  10. Weeks may not be swinging a hot bat, but he has drawn 17 walks this season. That's nice to have at least from the leadoff spot.
  11. To be fair, he did look a lot better before that shoulder injury. Also, that's an incredibly small sample size. He's looked good in my opinion. Hate to lose any regular player. Especially when his backup is Ishikawa. Sucks especially for Gamel. Final got his chance, and now he gets hurt.
  12. Yep, but on the bright side Conrad is the hottest hitter in our entire organization right now. Other than Brauny after last night of course.
  13. Assuming they just call Conrad up and not Green, it wouldn't surprise me to see Hart at 1B against most LHP. That would also allow them to get Aoki out in RF a little bit for more playing time.
  14. Yeah, he could still be hurt badly. Let's hope that's not the case though. He's getting pinch-hit for here, which isn't good.
  15. . Ran after a foul ball towards the wall on the side of the field, and it looked like he hurt his knee landing into it.
  16. Crap, this really sucks. I hope he'll be ok. He's been great this year, and showed great progress.
  17. At this point, it's probably almost a foregone conclusion that Wolf's option will be exercised and Greinke will be gone. I think Marcum will likely be back though, and if not some other free agent will likely be brought in. Otherwise Gallardo, Marcum, Wolf, Peralta, Estrada isn't bad. Or maybe Fiers or Thornburg instead of Estrada.
  18. There's no way he'll be ready for next season now that there's labrum damage also. I doubt he'll throw much, if at all, before February. He'll probably end up recovering in the minors for a good part of next season. If it stayed at a 6-9 month recovery there was probably hope of him being ready. Now I think that's gone. Either way, it's tough to come back from this injury at all. At least at a similar level. With Narveson being a 5 starter to begin with, I don't see making it back into the rotation. Very sad that this happened to him. I hope he can come back and at least be a reliever or something like Parra.
