  1. Pretty simple solution. Drop one of Dillard or De la Cruz and Bianchi. That's what will likely happen. 5 pen spots are pretty much guaranteed with Ax, K-Rod, Loe, Veras, and Estrada. That leaves 2 spots. 1 will go to Parra or Braddock, likely Parra because he has no options. The other will likely go to Dillard or De la Cruz because they have no options left. If not, just drop both of them to solve the problem. Don't see that happening though for the purpose of keeping some depth in the pen.
  2. I just read that there are serious talks of having the MITB match be featured at SummerSlam every year now as a way to boost the event. The MITB PPV would then be gone. I personally like the idea. WrestleMania doesn't necessarily need the match, and SS could certainly use the boost from it each year. I'd rather have the match featured at a PPV than have a separate PPV for it, with 2 different winners. Means more when there is one winner who can cash on either champion.
  3. We're not that bad off. Izturis is a great fielder, which is what we need in our backup SS. No one else is out there. And either Green or Conrad should be fine as our extra IF and pinch-hitter. Conrad is a switch-hitter and has been a good pinch-hitter in his career, so I think he'll get the nod. The truth is there aren't any other options out there, otherwise Melvin would've explored them. He was also a little tied down, because of the fact that there is no more money to work with. Izturis and Conrad are as cheap as they come.
  4. Yeah, I liked last night's segment way better than last week's. I liked it from both Rock and Cena. The Rock concert, Cena rap next week should be good stuff too. Those Rock concerts back in '03 were good stuff. I was surprised how early it ended too. What probably happened is they just overestimated how much time to leave for it. I heard they cut Khali/Otunga, which Long announced last week would happen. That would've at least added another 5-10 minutes to the show. I don't think the ending segment needed to be longer though.
  5. No one on this team likes batting 5th. I like the lineup although I would flip Lucroy and Gonzalez and I might put someone else in the two hole. Morgan batting second will mean a ton of bunts With Hart out of the lineup Weeks may have to bat 5th whether he likes it or not. Roenicke said the only way Weeks hits 5th is if Hart is out for an extended period of time. Longer than he is expected to be out for.
  6. I really doubt it would be caused by being out of shape. This is a really common knee injury that occur really at any time. Doesn't take a whole lot. Which is exactly why he doesn't know how it happened. Probably just something that was building up over time and finally just gave out on him. I wouldn't read much into it. Could've happened to anyone on the team.
  7. Here's the names that Bowden mentioned that Greinke is considering. No Boras. "He is expected to consider several of the top agents in the business including Brodie Van Wagenen of CAA, Casey Close formerly of CAA, Adam Katz from Wasserman and Seth Levinson from ACES."
  8. I just saw on ESPN Insider that Greinke now plans to hire an agent soon, and Melvin and Attanasio will then sit down with whoever it is and hammer out an extension before Opening Day. Says they are determined to do so. I hope this is true. Especially, because it'll likely mean we won't have to overpay Marcum for an extension out of desperation.
  9. Rickie is a career .435 slugger. Granted, he has been a bit better lately (460-470 the last few years). But still, its not like he is a very big power guy... Ramirez, Hart, and Braun on the roster all clearly have more power than Weeks. Braun and Ramirez are better career OBP than Weeks, while Weeks, Morgan and Hart are all pretty close. Weeks seems like a perfect #2 hitter to me. Yep, flipping Weeks and Morgan would make sense. But Roenicke likes to be stupid and have Morgan waste an out in the first inning to bunt Weeks over when he gets on.
  10. Keep in mind that Mark Kotsay is no longer on the roster.
  11. Aoki's splits are pretty even, so he'd be fine against LHP. The plan when Hart plays 1B is for him to play RF anyway. I could see Aoki playing everyday in RF, and the Gomez/Morgan platoon staying in CF. Gamel will likely just play everyday until Hart gets back. It will probably only be 10-15 games at most anyway.
  12. I would too, but I have a feeling Roenicke won't do that. Hopefully he will though. I'd probably just leave the top 4 as they planned, and the move the bottom of the order all up 1 as you said and have Gomez hit at the bottom. Weeks Morgan Braun Ramirez Gamel Gonzalez Lucroy Gomez. Easier than messing with the top of the order.
  13. Another problem here is that now Gamel has no backup to start the season. He can play everyday, but I'm sure they'll want someone around just in case. Probably helps Taylor Green out a little, given the fact that he's been working at 1st some. Maybe they won't even bother keeping a 5th OF for the few weeks Hart will be out at the start of the season. My guess is Roenicke goes with Gomez and Morgan in the starting lineup in the 1 and 2 spots, and hits Weeks 5th until Hart returns.
  14. Braun shouldn't be a consideration for the 1st pick honestly. Outfield is deep this year in fantasy. It's between Cabrera and Pujols. Cabrera being 3B eligible makes his value skyrocket in fantasy. He's the hands down first pick in my opinion. Then you have the luxury of taking the best available 1B or 3B later on and play Cabrera at the other spot. It's all about position scarcity, and having the best 3B will be huge with how thin that position is.
  15. I don't really buy the fact that the match was scrapped just because Barrett was scheduled to win. There's gotta be someone else they plan to push that they could've had win it. It was more likely because of the JL/Long match that it was scrapped. Interesting that Barrett was supposed to win though at least.
  16. Actually, he went 6 up, 6 down. Also struck out Gamel. Went through our 1-6 in the order. Pretty impressive first outing.
  17. I just read that Barrett had his surgery, and it was found that his injury was worse than originally thought, so he's out 3-4 months. Apparently, he was scheduled to win the MITB match, so they decided to just scrap it when they found out he'd miss Mania. That really sucks, because it would've been a great match, and if he was scheduled to win I'd be all for it.
  18. That's pretty lame that they only give away 10,000 and not to the whole crowd.
  19. Yep, that will be the opening day lineup barring injuries. The only thing that wasn't set was Weeks and Hart, but when Weeks said he didn't like hitting 5th that pretty much locked up the lineup.
  20. That, or he's just simply not a Packer fan. Based on his avatar, I'd go with the latter.
  21. This. I'll remember the 2011 forever. I was at almost every game down the stretch. I was at the division clinching game. I was at every playoff game. I experienced the journey first hand. I'll never forget it, and nothing can take that away from me. I will cherish the 2011 season, no matter what happens.
  22. Yeah, pretty cheap plug here. Didn't realize at first it was the guy's first post. I have a t-shirt company and I did post a few of my shirts last year in the trading post, but I'm a long-standing member here, said it was my company, and I thought that was the appropriate place to put it out there for people here interested. Joining this site to post a t-shirt, and try to hide that it's yours, on the major league forum is nothing more than spamming.
  23. So I saw today that the MITB PPV is now expected to return and has been announced for Phoenix in July. That means MITB is gone at Mania. So I think now that the JL/Long match will be expanded to 5 on 5, a tag title match will be added, and Kane vs. Orton will happen. Something like Team JL: Otunga, ADR, Christian, Henry, Miz vs. Team Long: Santino, Mysterio, Ryder, Khali, and maybe Foley or Booker T to try to add some luster to Long's team. Then Kofi/Truth vs. Ziggler/Swagger vs/ Primo/Epico for the tag titles.
  24. I highly doubt they'd ever have an Iron Man Match at WrestleMania. Would take up too much time. At another PPV it would be a possibility though.
  25. I think that feud will happen at some point in the future, so I'm really not that worried about it. It would be a fantastic feud though, that is for sure. I hope they hold off on it though, so the feud pays off at WrestleMania next year or something. That match would be a show stealer for sure. Although, if they wanted to go into it right away they could do it at SummerSlam. It will be very interesting to see if Bryan is moved to Raw though if he drops the title to Sheamus at WrestleMania. Smackdown needs to keep some stars, but I guess they could move other heels over there to replace him. Like maybe The Miz, because he has fallen out of favor a little bit.
