  1. I don’t think they’ll have to worry about that. I do. I think it's at least highly likely. The 1st place team in the West already has two losses and I highly doubt they are getting out of that gauntlet without at least four. You can forget about the East. It's either the champ of the North or the South, and the Packers already beat the Saints. So I don't think they need to be the best, or even the top 2 best, to end up in the #1 spot.
  2. I feel like the Packers will easily win this, eventually, but yaaaaaaaawn.
  3. He gets dumped on because of the movement toward efficiency/analytics and a guy that throws that many picks is going to be (rightfully) criticized under that light. He's a better version of Jay Cutler and a worse version of Brett Favre.
  4. Horrible is a bit of a stretch I think. The defense is the strength of the team for sure, but the offense is middle of the road in most things, and around the top of the bottom third in efficiency. I've certainly seen worse QBs and teams destroy crappy Packer defenses.
  5. I'm fine with their mini bye and any other advantage they have. I need to see the Packers win a game like that for once or at LEAST lose close. Just stop these blood bath losses against team with a pulse.
  6. Well, anyone that wanted another test for the Packers will get one in Indy. That defense is near the top in everything and Rivers is beyond good enough to make the Packers look terrible.
  7. Went to sleep REALLY early last night. What on Earth happened to Tampa?
  8. There's another useless game with the Jags next, but the Colts should be a tough one after that. Yes the Packers can lose to the Jags, but beating them doesn't tell us much.
  9. Pump the brakes there, recency bias. Green was a near-2000 yard rusher, a legit passing option, and could take a broken play 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage and break a 20-yard run. He could also carry 3 guys on his back. Very different runners, and Jones is a really good player, but don't think he's on the level Green was, at least not in 2003.
  10. Ok, so, this game can only be so impressive but have destroyed them thoroughly. Anything less would have been very concerning. They played well though.
  11. Yeah, yikes. That was awful.
  12. This team went from looking like a legit Super Bowl contender to looking really unimpressive in like 3 weeks.
  13. Our schools are going virtual 11/9-11/29. My kid is sobbing and I am dreading it.
  14. Kirk Cousins' lone TD was a 50-yard screen to Dalvin Cook. It's pretty much exactly what I said. The secondary isn't really an issue. You can't give every offense 2nd and 2 and then almost never hit a QB. You need to help them some way, either with pressure or at least making them throw in difficult spots. They don't do either one. If an offense is never uncomfortable and has carte blanche on what they want to do and is only throwing when they want to it's almost impossible to stop.
  15. Most of those passing stats are a result of not passing. The Bucs scored 38 points with 166 yards on 17 completions. Cousins had 160 yards on 11/14 with a TD = 138.1 QB rating. The ratings are high because there is no reason to throw into the secondary very often. So there are limited turnover opportunities and few high-risk/difficult throws. The scheme is comically awful. Preston Smith is lined up like Deion Sanders. This is a coach that thinks he's reinvented the wheel and the rest of the league is laughing.
  16. I'll second that. That team did a great job.
  17. My younger son's daycare is closed for at least two weeks for staff cases. I've been seeing more and more these. I feel school may be coming soon, which will be devastating.
  18. Or they'll win and the "yeah buts" will start in and recency bias from 2019 will loom larger in fan's minds and they'll psychosomatic themselves into marching to the same drum beat come January about the outcome of playoff games before they even get played. Hell, just forfeit Thursday. Everybody seemingly already knows the outcome. If the Packers beat the 49ers those "yeah buts" are completely reasonable. The team is a shell of the one from the NFCCG. I don't know how you can act like the fans are too cynical at this point. The Packers have been losing playoff games for years now in historic fashion about 75% of the time. Whether it's Kaepernick embarrassing them, giving up 51 points, forcing 5 picks and losing a title game, or a RB no one's ever heard of running over them like he's Walter Payton. Personally I find the overly positive "it's one game" stuff more tiresome. This team hasn't built a good defense in 10 years and it was a fart in the wind. The Packers getting literally run over isn't a one game thing, it's been going on for a decade. And when they've been passable up front they've been a sieve in back.
  19. If he wants to play, I think he will do it for next to nothing. He has plenty of money and is a smart guy. He knows what his reputation is. Coming back for one more year because "he owes it to the fans" would be one last mea culpa on his part. That's IF he wants to play, which I'm not sure he does. Most of MKE loves him regardless.
  20. I really don't think this has anything to do with taking a loss hard. At least not to me. It's that it's the exact same version of getting we are accustomed to. We don't lose 13-10 in a defensive battle. We don't play super hard and come up short. Teams just run right at us and do whatever they want. We have RBs that put up high school YPC on our defense. And it's almost always like this no matter who is coaching.
  21. If the Packers are so consumed by a 4-3 team in another division to the point they can't take care of a division rival, two weeks after getting absolutely embarrassed, the coaching staff needs work. They have two huge flaws. They have no interior DL to speak of and the offense is comprised of one receiver. I'm 50-50 on the reviewers being terrible or Rodgers just locking in on 17. The DL is worse though. The talent is just not there.
  22. Not sure why the Packers would look past a divisional game for one against an absolutely battered 49er team in last place. If that happened, yikes MLF.
  23. That's where I am. The Bears have a better defense and we have a better QB. I think we'll win the division just because Rodgers always seems to beat them. I actually missed today's game opting to skip an "easy win" to get my fall yardwork done. Now I feel pretty solidly this is the same 10-6 version of good but not good enough team I've come to know all too well. Not really overreacting, and I'd probably feel better if they couldn't score but the defense was good, but just getting gashed every week is the same old same old.
  24. I feel pretty strongly that the Packers are not a contender until they do something about the DL. Cook is great, whatever, but they can't stop anyone.
